The door handles and gear lever are from the Navara. The Amarok also has its indicator on the left
The luxury aspect just isn't there - how strange
I don't understand the complaint about no push button start. If it still uses old school remote keyfob lock/unlock then you still have to handle the key to gain entry and the ignition gives you a place hold the key securely while your driving

I'm glad they're not selling this thing in Canada. I can't tell whether this is a joke of a work vehicle or a joke of a luxury vehicle. The global truck market really seems to be confused and half-assed at this point

A couple of mistakes in this article, one is Amarok's have the lefthand side indicator stalks, not just the Merc, which I'll say is a retro-fit because the Nissan doesn't....
70K for a rebadged Nissan?!? It seems that they have no cabin storage, no auxiliary plugs, and weird ergonomics where the 4wd controls are out of reach and what is with that Aldi popup screen. I wonder if that Nissan squat at rear is still present when loaded.

Is there an option for manual
Its like buying the HSV Colorado Sportscat over a standard Colorado you get the exact same engine and maybe a bit of better goodies but who wants to pay an extra couple of thousand dollars just for a same ute but with no engine upgrade
They should have held back release until they had a Mercedes engine in it, really needs the power to take on Amarok V6 to have credibility.

Couldn’t agree more. I can’t think of any logical reason to buy this over a navara or Amarok
So, one person buys a V6 Amarok, one buys a V6 X-Class. They get T-boned. The Amarok family has kids with serious head injuries (or worse) thanks to no rear air bags. The X-Class family walk away.....who has rocks in their head?
Both buy a Ranger or a Colorado both just as safe for less money or if you want to buy a better ute get the new Ranger Raptor when it comes out in September anything is better than an overprice Nissan or Shit customer service Volkswagen, what will be the best though is when KIA and Hyundai bring theirs out around 2020 or so
matt05x well done captain safety, here to rescue us all from ourselves yet again. Never mind the fact that there are other cheaper Utes that are safer, nah, straight for the Achilles heel of the only other German on the market.
The Accounting Dept. went to work on this one. It looks nothing like the concept car. Even the funky (yet impractical) tailgate was axed. Sad.
That options list was a joke right? Hahah far out.
My choice would be a Ranger or Amarok.
Bring back the holden or falcon ute instead of this thing.
All these salty people here commenting about "why whould you even buy this unless for the Merc logo, or, there are more utes out there that is just significantly better than this, and things like that" and maybe your right, but, you also got to keep in mind that THIS IS THE FIRST TIME, Mercedes-Benz actually made and sold a pick-up truck internationally, they had to of course start from scratch, because they really don't have that much of an idea how to build a pick-up truck, your comparing Mercedes-Benz to something like Toyota or Ford who had significantly had more experience than Mercedes-Benz in building a pick-up truck they of course focused more on will this FIRST pick-up truck that they made reliable enough to be sold internationally than focusing on looks and design and overall creative thinking, so stop the hates, if you don't like it, just shut up about it, its like basically cursing words at someone who bumped you on the road due to wreckless driving but just found out that he/she is actually a first time student driver comparing yourself that you are already a veteran driver with 10 year above of experience, your just showing yourself how shallow of a person you are.
So a soup up Navarra? I’ll buy Navara ibstead.

There’s literally no reason to wait for the v6 model, because you can already go buy 1 right now for less, and that’s at a VW dealer, and if you want a 2.3L then go to your Nissan dealer and buy the Navara.
I understand car manufacturers need to sometimes buy a platform off another manufacturer as it costs billions to design their own, but Mercedes have bought the whole damn car off Nissan and thrown a badge on it. FAIL try again

This car is nothing more than an overpriced Nissan ! I might give the next generation a chance if it’s developed in house by Mercedes and with a focus on luxury and refinement.
Piece of euro junk! anyone who buys this uglier shitter version of the Navara must have more money than brains. What's the bet it gets Mercedes famous reliability (or lack there of) & not Nissan's? If German cars were that great they'd have the best warranties & reliability but they don't you pay for a crummy badge that's it lol.
