Starting flat karts this summer once my local track opens back up. I’m definitely excited to finally get started, I’ve wanted to race for years and I now have the opportunity to.

This video helps me a lot. I’ve been saving up for 4 years to buy a flat kart to race and I did it! I bought a kart with my own money and this summer I’m finally getting to start racing. I’m so excited, I don’t have many people to help me with “working” on the kart so me and my grandpa have been figuring it out as we go along.

I want to start saving for a car as well. I'm only 14 so it's going to be awhile but that's OK. I want to start at outlaw carts, but there is no outlaw carts near me. I don't know if I'm going to start in sprint cars, I'll probably start in a different type.

I feel like another good thing is to head to the track tou will be racing at, watch the specific class you'll be racing. Pay hard attention to them and take notes about how they are driving and the lines. They are running, it will also give you the feel of how to run the track, like when heat races are or when to stage up, I feel like that is another important thing to add

I am racing Junior sedans in Australia and yes racing is expensive but you can make a small fortune if you start with a big one
I am more into drag racing! My whole fam has raced for a long time
35 years old, I raced quarter midgets as a kid. Quit. And now, I’m in a 305 sprint car getting my feet wet again. My kids all race too. 600 outlaw micro, quarter midgets and karts
I might be getting a go kart to either race on dirt or asphalt and then later a dirt wissota mod To race in minnesota

True racing has gone up due to the use of aftermarket/racing parts and the cars got less stock over time
It’ll eventually have to drop. Tracks will close because people can’t just keep pouring money into this sport. Insane what people think is okay to spend to go racing. $6500 a night to go run? No fuckin way
Hey man great advice keep up the great videos. I have been on many different type of pit crew from world of outlaw late model to 4 cylinder cars. This year is supposed to be my first year driving my own car I can not wait for this I have had the opportunity to drive many different cars but I figured start small go big later. Now saying that 4 cylinder cars are definitely not cheap lol.

I’m thinking of getting into dirt track racing in northern Michigan once I’m healed from a broken back and 4/6 cylinder is the most common intro at my local track. I plan on having GoPros on my car to check what I’m doing and to post videos

How do I get started if I live in Mississippi
Maybe research what tracks are in your local area.
I race a dirt modified and I’m thirteen
I live on the east coast so what form of starter racing should I go with?
Also I did some research and total for outlaw cart because I have a crap load of those tracks near me, in total the cart is about 5,000$ A Trailer can be up to 6,000$ a fire suit and gloves and other stuff is about over 100$ and the helmet can be from a 100$ helpmate for a cheap starter helmet and a good one is about 300$ You are looking at about 11,000$ for all of that, idk if your cart will come with like an engine or wing but those can be also expensive.
Also I didn’t mention the seat because I couldn’t find an outlaw cart seat.

Probably the closest I will get to actually racing is iRacing.. Kind of disappointing to have the passion for it but never have the money or help that others do.
