That's to some extend true. Because it has an automatic ink circulation system for the white ink, which is WIMS: White Ink Management System, which needs power. And this system is important to keep the white ink circulating inside tubes to reduce ink consumption by cleaning, and to protect the tubing system and the print head from clogging.
