    Wow!! Curious after another comment mentioned it, I just read your description for the first time. That's an incredible story! Eye issues leading to blindness run in my family, and as a reader and art lover it's always been a fear in the back of my mind. I can only imagine the loss of all these different worlds and friends and lives a true reader gets to experience. I'm glad you have your health and sight back, and it makes me appreciate this channel more than ever. Since I'm already subscribed, the best I can do is give my sincere thanks for all the work you put into this channel, and hope good deeds really do come back tenfold!

    Sire,
    Sire,
    please don’t call me a liar,
    for I swear I have not destroyed your
    pen outside of this beautiful empire.
    I am your lord, Avoris,
    and the truth of my pen,
    I
    aspire.
    But please,
    my lord,
    my ruler,
    my sire,
    I do not know; I swear I do not know
    where your pen is,
    for I am no liar.
    Liar,
    liar,
    but your clever lies,
    I do admire,
    but the truth of your treachery
    I solely desire.
    But what truth can I offer,
    if I am no liar?
    Why, your soul,
    entire.
    My soul entire?
    For the truth you require?
    How my soul,
    do you expect to acquire?
    Why,
    gods,
    rulers,
    miracles
    are my attire,
    and so your soul,
    with divine fire,
    I will tire;
    your soul,
    in you,
    the liar,
    and I will witness your soul
    retire.
    Please,
    my sire,
    spare me this grief,
    for I would never provoke
    your ire.
    I know it is you, Avoris,
    my squire,
    who stole my pen
    for your own desire,
    you stole it from me
    when we passed that spire,
    for it was your wish,
    against me,
    to conspire.
    My lord,
    my sovereign,
    my sire,
    I swear I did not take the pen,
    I couldn’t have…
    please believe that I am no liar.
    I do care for you,
    my squire,
    but I do not believe that you are no
    liar;
    I see your lies
    lifting you higher,
    higher,
    with your mind
    on fire,
    deep into my wrath,
    entire.
    I see your soul,
    so dire,
    surrounded by my divine slaves:
    the gods,
    the miracles,
    all disguised as my attire…
    Avoris,
    let the truth transpire,
    save your soul,
    and for once…
    be no liar.
    Okay…
    it was me who stole your pen,
    but I did not destroy it in divine fire,
    I couldn’t,
    I wanted to but I couldn’t
    because I lost it prior.
    I know, Avoris,
    I know you did not destroy my pen,
    for I already have it back.
    It came back to me, Avoris,
    and it told me everything.
    And that is how I knew you were a liar,
    and now I shall take your soul,
    and watch it burn
    in divine fire.

    Legend by David gemmell??.either way I appreciate you uploading this! ✌🖖

    • @TallTaleTV
      @TallTaleTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh man, I wish I could. Both of those are copyrighted. I only narrate short stories that people give me permission to do. I do have a lot of fantasy though. You might check out my fantasy playlist (link below). It has around 90 stories in it and counting. Just be aware a bunch of the first stories on there are from my early work, so the narration isn't as good, lol. But they get better quick.

    • @TallTaleTV
      @TallTaleTV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi there! Yeah, other than horror stories, TH-cam viewers don't seem too interested in just listening to stories. Multiple creepypasta narrators have told me that the sci-fi/fantasy market on youtube is super tiny. Luckily the podcast version of my show is growing faster, and this youtube channel is growing steadily despite the rough start. But I do this for fun and experience, I don't actually plan to make a profit on this channel any time soon. If I can get ad revenue going I'll use it to pay the authors for their stories instead. It's awesome to know I came up first for that search term, though!

    My response to this was just HUH??? I understand having these large powerful creatures that arent very bright, but how do you make the leap of 'you tried to kill us!'??? I mean they got what they wanted, extreme heat beyond anything they had known, but it was their damn fault for just diving right in. Imagine selling someone a hammer, they bash their own thumb with it, then blame you for selling the hammer... The failure of writing here is that there was no actual clear intent to harm the creatures, but when they were harmed by their own failure to look before they leap the king took ownership as if the outcome were intentional... Throughout this is a lack of wisdom and complete failure to reason. I wont say its bad writing, there are catastrophic fools in the world like this, I just found the story painful.

    See to me, the whole description ruined your channel. Looks too much like you are trying to capitalize on a temporary impairment....like a broken leg or a trip to the OR. Happens to everyone. Only you seem to wear it as your life's purpose. Coincidentally, you are a writer and your benevolence is wanting to help other writers make money. How about helping blind people every Monday and Friday instead of posting a short story? Supposedly, you know how they feel...?.....?

    • @TallTaleTV
      @TallTaleTV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Fair comment! Someone finally said it, lol. Sure, take it for what you will. The experience is an ongoing factor in my life, I just had another surgery Monday to my right eye, and I get injections in my eyes every few months. So it's a bit more intimate and immediate to my life than a trip to the OR. Initially I didn't talk much about it because, like you, I felt it was a little bit sleazy as a bio. I hate sympathy farmers and hate that i potentially come off as one. But I have had so many people tell me to share the story, and even more people reach out to me because of it inspiring them to rise up through their own struggle. As for helping the blind, I'm active on the diabetic forums and help anyone going through retinopathy. I have a standing offer with my eye doctor to send people my way for mentoring. And the bio is another extension of this, people have emailed me after seeing my bio telling me they are going through the same, and I either share my knowledge or just commiserate. I don't know what it's like to be permenantly blind, and while I can relate to a degree, I don't think I can do much to 'help' the truly blind beyond providing free stories to listen to. Authors I can pay. So, yeah, I agree. The story is not who I am, and I do feel like a sham posting it there. But it seems to have a positive effect for some who need to see it, and that is enough for me. I'll hope my craft stand on it's own regardless of my bio :)
