I am glad you feel that you can talk to us like you do. I sure hope that woman and her daughter are in a safe place now.

I completely agree with you. No person should treat a child, even another person, like that. No one has the right to terrify a child like that. People can be so selfish and unreasonable. I'm 15 and I understand how un-okay this was. Lucky that you were there to make sure nothing happened.

We need more men like you in the world! Thank you for calling the cops. No child should have to see something like that. Like you I can not stand when children are involved in situations like that. Thank you for sharing!

I am so thankful for men like you. I was once that little child. My Dad would start out yelling at my Mom and then it would turn physical. No one ever intervened. I so wish that someone had. So thank you for being the man that you are.

Wish that there were more people like you out there Emmett. You're so right that these babies are the ones who suffer the most. As an elementary teacher I hear and see so much. You have no idea how many sleepless tear filled nights I've had thinking about certain babies. I get a feeling from this that you may have had experience somehow somewhere and you have an innate desire to help the underdog. Thanks for this blog today. You've proven that the good guy still exists.

thank you Emmett for calling the cops when many people would of ignored it. You did an awesome thing. I've been though harassment like that from a parent and then also a classmate in middle school(that the school would not take seriously). Now I nanny I little girl who her and her mom have to go though this type thing. the world needs more people like you what see that happening and will do somthing.

Good for you for trying to help that woman and child when so many might film the chaos but walk away.

Your a good man, to stand up for someone you didn't know, and to keep your cool despite him screaming at you.
In your shoes I know the cops would have been called, but I can't say they wouldn't be called for me getting in this guy's face.
Because I think you are 1000 percent right, whatever your issue, you DO NOT act like that in front of a CHILD. Children should be protected, and encouraged. Not terrified and chased.
So glad you are such a upstanding man. Thank you from somebody who knows what it's like to have a childhood fouled by ignorant people.

I'm so happy to hear what you did, speaking on behalf of children who have been trapped in situations like that I thank you. I would say more but my rant would have no end. Thank you again Mr. O'Hanlon for seeing a situation like that and not ignore it.

I was a victim of domestic violence and to know that a man would step in to protect a woman is good. I had to protect myself and I did. I will write you a letter telling you the full story. Thank you Emmett for being the man you are.

While you look at this as a negative vlog, in reality it's more about hope. You stepped in and helped someone who needed it and you helped to keep them safe. How many people would have just kept on going. While the outcome wasn't justice, you did provide assistance to someone in need. This vlog is about your life, the ups and downs and everywhere in between. You don't need to apologize, keep up the good work.

It's never a negative, if you do something to save a life. That's what happened for you today. You distracted him just long enough for that lady and her child to get away. Abuse is never good. So I hope you will look on this event as a positive rather than a negative. This world needs more people like you to step up and get involved. I hope that poor lady had a safe place to go and get away from him. This is a good lesson video to share. Thanks for being who you are!

Good Going Emmett, Proud of you! Watching some of these real police and emergency responder shows brings it home that children are younger and younger where their circumstances are very non-kid friendly is alarming to me. 5 year olds telling "they shot my Daddy dead" and she/he witnessed everything. They already know what death is.....So sad what life has shown to them too soon. Very sad indeed....

It's really nice to know that you were there to help protect that woman and child. It's so amazing how many type of people are out there that act like jerks. It's not fair when men can sit there and abuse a women and childern. I just hope there no revenge on his part, because he couldn't find them.

This is not a negative vlog and I have shared it because if just one person listens to your thoughts regarding your experience and contemplates for a moment, the next time they see someone in need they may step up instead of turning away. Or, even better, if one person with anger or abusive issues listens to this, maybe they will admit they need help and decide to try to get help. The sad truth is that if they were married and the police had arrived in time, it would have been considered a domestic quarrel and there would have been nothing the officers could have done. Even though you were subjected to vile language, your presence there, more than likely, saved that woman and child from additional verbal or possible physical attack.

I think you're absolutely right in feeling the way you do and I applaud the fact that u didn't just mind your own business. A lot of people do so and something bad happens. I know that I appreciated the help my family got when my Ex-Stepdad would stalk us and try and trap us even at a public place. Any help is better than none. I hate the fact that people like that can walk around in the world and not get caught or punished! Good vlog!

am very proud of you Emmett . someone else would have done nothing with the world being the way it is now . and as for the cops not geting there in time . sorry to say . nothing new . too many sad story about how kids get hurt or kill . or mother's geting hurt or kill with the kids right there . and your right . to me kids at a young age should not see that kind of things or hear it . poor little girl .

I agree with you wholeheartedly! There is never a valid excuse for that sort of behavior. I used to work with children whit disabilities and broken homes. The kind of BS that these children were put through makes my blood boil. Like you my fuse is a tad short. I do have an Irish/Scottish temper after all. But injustices will make my blood boil quicker than anything else.

You did the right thing by not trying to engage with this guy, he could have pulled a gun or knife on you. It's a shame it took the cops 2 hrs to arrive at the scene, that's really unacceptable! You're a good guy for getting involved Emmett, proud of you :)

Kudos to you for stepping up and protecting them! Not everyone would take time to do that. Thankfully I haven't had any similar experiences with adults, but when I was still in school (around 15-16 I think) I did step up to one girl who was bullying another smaller one.. Simply because I was bullied a lot as well when I was smaller as I've had weight problems most of my life..
Stuck in bed sick right now so you talking about going to the gym makes me kinda jealous :D I joined a gym about three weeks ago after doing the Insanity workouts for a few months.. Have lost 3st since March as well, woot! Need to gain muscle now and tone up, though, so if you've any tips regarding that, I'm all ears! You should totally do a blog about what type of exercises you do at the gym, if you're allowed to film there?
