Driving through Mexico - Cuidad Juarez

- This is a real 1st POV where we drive through the streets of the infamous Cuidad. Juarez. This City was known to be one of if not the most dangerous city in the world a decade ago.
Here you will see glimpes of northern Juarez near the down town market place and west parts fo the city. Through it is one of if not the biggest city in the state of chihuahua, it is a very polarized city when it comes to the wealth. There are many areas where there are private neighborhoods , gated communities with nice parks and accesories. While 5 minutes from those communities, there are neighborhoods that look like the favelas in brazil. With houses made out of brick , stone, and cement; this is the part of Juarez I identify with.
Though it is gehtto and dirty , it has an authentic feel to it of coming out of the bottom with the value of family first, but you must always be alert becuase the beasts of the road are always in your vacinity .

Was there years ago, I wanted to drive from there to Tijuana. I didn't know that I wasn't allowed without a permit. I stopped just outside the city at a police station ( I think) went inside, I don't speak Spanish and they didn't speak English, but we could understand what each other was trying to say. He drew me a map, I had to go back to the border and pay. Got lost on the way there, found a police officer, he escorted me to Mexican customs and I went inside and got what I needed. I have to say that Mexican people are the nicest people I've ever met.

Juaritos, no será la ciudad más bella visualmente hablando, pero su gente es noble, hospitalaria y trabajadora.
looks so different from the last time I was there.......1959....I was 7....I remember having to wait at one of the main intersections while a flock of sheep crossed. I remember going into a large building that had many vendors selling pottery, hats, there was one vendor that had long pointy multicolored suckers. I remember we stopped outside of a bull fighting arena..don't remember for sure if it was there or in El Paso....
Wow, that is a long time ago! Can assure you that the vendor community is still going strong. Was there 3 weeks ago, every time there is something new.

Fear mongering ? Are you insane ? Ciudad juarez had the 2nd highest number of homicides in all of Mexico (1500) in 2020.
I mean the statistics don’t lie.
I have a very good friend who used to live there in Juarez,, last I heard he's in El Paso, last time I seen him was jus 2 months before Sept 11, 2001, I would surely like to visit him again. He took me and my father into Juarez, and we enjoyed visiting there, and we ate there. That was freakn awesome, what a whole different unique culture!!!! I'm sure it's not the same anymore, but I'd certainly visit El Paso.👌🤠✌️👍😉 More please!!!!

Some people talk bad about Juarez but it’s much cleaner than big cities in California.

@@propblast82nd I’ve lived in San Diego, CA all my life and I have never seen that. Like I said anyways.. it’s still better than living in Juarez where women are being kidnapped, raped and ect.

@@propblast82nd I like Mexico and Juarez but you don’t see many tents because people can’t really afford them, and it’s not like people throw their tents into the trash. Plus this isn’t a bad neighborhood, it’s pretty average for Juarez. If you do actually go into the bad neighborhoods, well, the streets aren’t even paved and you see rampant homelessness

Yo iba a comer a una fondita que se llamaba patas verdes, casi enfrente de la escuela revolución, recuerdos muy gratos de mi Juárez.
We live in El Paso used to go there for a meal, quit during the drug wars when there were hundreds of murders per year there. Still don’t go, once in a while will drive to Palomas and eat at the Pink Store. The people that run it are great and have nice merchandise. We don’t drive over, we walk. Need a passport to get back no big deal use my passport card. Nice video thank you.

why need a passeport , passeport for what reason ?
@@luciedescoteaux944 you need a passport to cross between USA and MEX.
However, since the states and MEX are connected via Land, you can cross with the passport card instead of the book passport.
It’s Like having a second drivers licenses on hand which makes it easy to carry around.

Hola!! Yo no vivo en Juárez entonces no se si es costoso. Muchos trabajan en El Paso y regresan a la Casa que tienen en Juárez. Alomejor eso te da un idea de como es la economía de Juárez.

Do I need a passport to drive from Ciudad Juarez to Torreon Mexico?
Not necessarily. If you are an American citizen, you need to request permission of the length of your stay in the region at the Mexican consulados online (its for you car). Or when you leave juarez headed to Torreón, there will be an office/checkpoint where you can submit your info about where you are going and the length of your stay there (also for car purposes). Just have a form of identification with you once you cross the border into juarez (can be your passport, license, or both).
If you are a Mexican citizen, you don’t need a passport.
@@MichaelDeLaRosa What will they do if I don’t have anything but a American drivers license? Is there any way to drive from Juarez to Torreon and back without being stopped and questioned?
@@gloriadelarosa6422 you will always be stopped and questioned because that’s how it’s set up to be. You have to pay at different posts to get through. If you have a license I’m sure you will be fine since you got in with your passport.
@@MichaelDeLaRosa I enter Mexico without a passport all the time but I’m trying to travel deep into Mexico. Can I just pay them off to leave me alone? I’m not gonna have a passport or Mexican license or registration or insurance or anything

No,.yo no conozco sureños que le hagan a la mamado con el narco. La narco cultura es netamente norteña, Lo único bueno de Juárez es que es una ciudad medianamente grande, si no fuera por la migración sería lo mismo pero en versión pueblo, un lugar inseguro con pobreza.

La cultura norteña siempre ha sido trabajo duro en el desierto sin nada, por eso los sureños tienen invadido el norte que es más rico, industrial, próspero y tiene mayor calidad de vida que el resto del país.

@@augustosabino Of course this is if you go to the border, border cities are dangerous although not nearly as much as the statistics tell as most homicides happen to people involved in the drug business. Cities far from the border are way safer such as most in central mexico, baja california sur, the yucatan peninsula and southern mexico. The vast majority of cities south of Monterrey are quite safe overall. (A couple of exceptions such as Fresnillo or Zamora, but even there the city center is usually safe)

My family is from Juarez and I can tell you with 100% certainty that this city hasn’t advanced one step forward since the 1950’s. It’s corrupt and dangerous as hell down there in my Juaritos. I remember leaving our doors unlocked during the night without worry when I was a kid. Nowadays home invasions and family massacres are common. So damn sad.
Both my families live there , I would say lowkey calm parts. But it’s obvious the city needs improvements in a lot of areas. Specially the streets and it’s holes haha
@@MichaelDeLaRosa I remember when women and girls could safely walk down the street after midnight during the 1970’s and 80’s and the worst that would happen was some guy whistling at her. I miss the Juarez of yesteryear so much. God I miss eating at the puestos near downtown or going to Tacos El Tendedero , Tacos El Tenampa and Tacos La Casona. Best food I’ve ever had.
Wtf i live in Ciudad Juarez, Going up through El Centró and it's an ugly ass conolial place and it's not as fucking drastic as you're making it seem, It's not that Dangerous, I've have nights walks and I've never been killed of whatever you imagine Juarez like 😂 It's very calm, It changed alot.
