The director allowed Don Warrington to look into the camera and connect with the audience as the detective asks him if England isn't too cold for him. Very unusual. One of my favourite episodes.
These old 70s comedies had some great catchy theme tunes, loved your reactions, love your laugh,it cracks me up and love your content, keep em coming bro.
I wish we could laugh at how ridiculous racism is again and make fools of people for it rather than stirring up an endless cycle of hate under the pretence of fighting it. Great reaction thanks.
Thanks for sharing, love that you love a little snippet from my childhood, the UK had 3 channels at that time, that was it, so we made the most of the entertainment we got
The comment about leaving a box of milk tray. A box of chocolate - the advert was a mysterious man doing James Bond type stuff to get the chocolate to her table. th-cam.com/video/HwIsvoZiEVQ/w-d-xo.html
In those day before mobiles and computers it was harder to find Mr right although compared to today there was a lot more Mr rights around than there is today that's for sure
Love your reactions jay. The point of these 70’s shows was to point out how stupid racism is. I think it’s good old fashioned humor and jokes and pleased your not offended by it and can see it for what it is just funny and not actually males cue intended to colour or race. No one can take a joke these days everyone is offended by everything regardless
First time I saw this episode and Rigsby said "Shall I put the box back" and the fake Office said "Yes I don't see why not", I knew from that moment the prowler was him. I was waiting to see at what point you worked it out. :) Still you got surprised by it so that was maybe a better outcome. :)
I like your attitude, it is "racist" although I don't agree with the word but its comedy and if you can't laugh at yourself you shouldn't watch it again life really is that simple, you seem a nice guy
Love your attitude to these old comedies. They are of their time shall we say. I wish everyone could accept that there is nothing we can do to actually change the past but we can learn from it and not make the same mistakes again. The UK is not perfect but we are far better than the 1970's. If any wokes are reading I apologise for the English knocking 7 shades of chit out of the Scots in 1746... Tthere now, don't we all feel better????
Rising Damp is one of those shows that couldn’t be made today. Even though the intent (and effect) was to mock, Rigsby’s casual racism and even Alan’s willingness to accept anything Phillip claimed, or Ruth’s fetishization of Phillip would make it just too problematic.
Hi jay. Please can you give an indication of how often you're going to react to rising damp. Maybe post a reaction at the same time on the same day each week. Your unpredictability is not good dude. I'm a huge fan and would love some consistency with your rising damp videos.

The fourth wall was used in that episode.

There's not much (certainly not Love Thy Neighbour) that can hold a candle to this!
Back when we could laugh at each other not like today
Harvest Festivals are huge, old fashioned ladies’ underwear like bloomers or Bridget Jones’s pants.
All is safely gathered in
