Although I stand by what I said, I hope that people don't come away from the video any less hopeful than they were coming in. Towards the end I made a very personal point about the potential effects of mainstreaming sex work on future generations. It's not that I'm going to let a cultural shift prevent me from living my life. It's that anyone tolerant of or advocating for said cultural shift should be aware of the consequences for themselves, direct and indirect. Like the climate change argument, right? That we should care about the world we leave behind for our children and their children's children. I was certainly trying to send a message about the sad state of affairs in which we find ourselves and I apologize if that message came off bleak; but I was only seeking to describe and criticize reality.

Sorry to say this but this video is quite shallow to say this song indicates the degredation of our society means you were born just yesterday..women sexualising themselves has always been a thing and men sexualising women is always been a thing, the problem is when you the "oh since women are sexualising themselves then it is okay" you forget the indoctrination of such acts, it is not a new phenomenon. Complaining about wap is lazy. You have your taste in media and social influence and honestly I support it but stop with condensation. The world is big enough for everyone to enjoy our taste..honestly I don't see the big deal with WAP, men have been also been allowed to express their sexual wants.

Total sympathy for the kids who belong to the woman with the blue nails.
From the amount of sheer self absorption to the inability to perform basic tasks from bathing them to making a simple sandwich.
I worked in NYC as a private escort & dominatrix for years; even partly during
a successful career in voice over & jingle work.
I can say with surety that it is developmentally & emotionally detrimental, even when done in the most
    understated & glamorous of surroundings.
It results in a numbing of the emotions & knowledge of certain things one is maybe best not even knowing.
It may feel empowering to come back to your wholesome, beautiful apartment at night with thousands of dollars, but
when you realize that you reliant on the clients making the choice to see you, the disparity in the empowerment
    pov starts to reveal itself.
There are more complexities than that & even some wonderful things, but in the final analysis it's not great for the psyche:)

Came for the Invincible video, stayed for this rant. Exceptionally thought out video, masterfully worded and an informative experience; the notion of how most prostitutes are not actual consenting adults, but result of trafficking, criminal activity, or straight up kidnapping is something that I haven’t seen come up often.
The only critiques I have are probably more to do with the accusatory tone in some bits, although understandable and relatable. Not because it’s important to hurt anyone’s feelings, what the fuck? But more because the people who should extrapolate something from this video might turn around and leave because of it.
Staying in topic though, what is your opinion on NSFW art/artists? What’s the thoughts on fictional characters?

There's a difference between objectifying/sexulizing women or without their consent.
I don't have much to say about the video, mainly I'm just annoyed about the selective outrage a lot of people have for this.
When Men are promiscuous nobody talks about the down fall of society or how it'll be effected. Only when women do the same it's a problem

    • @LoneWulf278

I mean... it’s like people completely forgot about Lil’ Kim. 😂
In all seriousness, I think what people are noticing is that adult content is being marketed towards children due to its catchy and colorful packaging. Sexualized media in the past wasn’t popularized by children. It was made by and for adults who were more than capable of differentiating a male power fantasy from reality. That barrier is being blurred and children’s expectations from the opposite gender are increasingly problematic.
To your point, the difference between male sex fantasies of the past and the one in the video is that people knew that it was just a fantasy and didn’t really need a lecture from radical feminists about objectification. Now, the vulgar objectification has become standardized practice, and many people growing up with it don’t know any other type of female representation.
With the help of people like Cardi B and many other female performers, the male fantasy has become the new reality and anything else is considered boring or unmarketable. Tbh, I would be totally fine with a woman who depicted the reality of sex from a distinctly female point of view. But that’s rare because they can’t compete with the more graphic women in this new landscape.
I think it’s also the disingenuous defense that bothers people. If something is p0rn, then call it p0rn. Don’t call it “empowerment” because that confuses children. Selling sexuality is something that only the least powerful people in society do (because they are typically poor and can’t sell anything else). You can’t really pass hypersexuality off as powerful because powerful women are not very sexual, overall.
It’s just funny because feminists have been discussing this issue for decades. Now, men are finally seeing it because it’s too big to ignore. The chickens have come home to roost. 🤷‍♀️

@@LoneWulf278 I don't think most of your response had to do with what I said, but I do believe that a lot of female celebrities who sing about sex are doing it performitabliy at least part of it.
You say they should call their music porn, but why don't we ever tell that to men.
So men can talk about sex all they want in public and private, but when a woman does it then it's not just a fantasy and she should be stopped...
In the past, we could only watch whatever was playing on the tv, but now we have a choice in what we observe.
It's the parent's fault for letting their children watch sexual content or music plus I don't think most female performers or rappers are marketed to children.
Also, sex in its self isn't empowerment, but taking agency willingly is. Also 'Powerful women are not sexual'???? what are you talking about, where'd you get that from or is that just what you want? How do you know people's business? I'm sure your not concern about rich men or average men who happily engage in sexual activity.
And men have been promoting sex to young boys for a while. With media and with their friends. It's expected of them.
Guys or sometimes women don't seem to care when women are objectified in their favorite shows, games and anime. but once a woman willingly sexualizes herself and expresses and interest In sex now their a slut, hoe, whore or thot... the selective outrage ain't it.
When Men are promiscuous nobody talks about the down fall of society or how it'll be effected. Only when women do the same it's a problem it's sexist and you cant deny it.

    • @LoneWulf278
      @LoneWulf278 ปีที่แล้ว

@@ViralMindeset I understand your feelings. But when men use sex to sell their music, they rarely use their own bodies. When women do it, they’re always nearly nude or in lingerie. That’s a pretty big distinction. Men seem to have the luxury of expressing sexuality while fully clothed, while prominent female entertainers are rarely ever fully clothed.
We don’t have to tell men how to present their music videos because they aren’t the ones claiming it’s a feminist statement to show strippers twerking in the camera. 😂
In terms of powerful women, they rarely sexualize themselves. The most powerful women in the world are very conservative in their presentation. They don’t attach their image to sex. That’s why I don’t think this can be a conversation about agency. How much autonomy can entertainers have when they’re signed to a major record label. They’re not independent enough for us to trust that this is just them expressing themselves. Let’s be honest. They’re doing it for profit so their label doesn’t drop them for not selling enough. The sexual liberation narrative is just a cover.

@@LoneWulf278 I don't know what point you're directly responding to, but I don't think you're getting my point.
I don't know what your point is in saying that men are usually fully clothed when expressing their sexuality in music... Of course, they are because they have a group of girls in the back beside them doing it for them. They appeal to the male gaze. And let's not pretend that we don't see tons of movies with guys shirtless flexing their abs. that's sexualizing themselves too, but you don't take it that seriously because men aren't the biggest sexual commodity. Female rappers are appealing to men and women and we all know that women have a higher standard when it comes to appearance in front of people.
name one well-known female rapper that has said 'THIS IS A FEMINIST STATEMENT THAT I SEXULIZE MYSELF'
Who cares if the most powerful women sexualize themselves that's not the point. Rich men might have a lot of sex but you won't see that cause they don't show that side of themselves. Same with rich women.

That means that they’re not trying make all women “prostitutes” the point is to have a world where people can do what makes them happy in a safe and accepting environment. In terms of the arguments focused on the decline of culture, that’s a result of consumerism and capitalism more than a few individuals. This is such a poorly constructed observation wrapped around the illusion of a well made argument. Before ferociously debating the existance of a song like WAP, you should have first asked yourself: Why am I so bothered by the normalization of sex in mainstream media? Why is comparing something to porn supposed to be an insult? What is it about sexual imagery that triggers me so much? Organized religion and patriarchy have done a lot of work to suppress human sexuality, especially for women, for centuries, and things have only changed because capitalists realized that they can make money off of exploring both the male and the female bodies. And this is now suddenly an issue whose blame can be attributed to feminists and the movement of sexual liberation? It’s appalling that someone can actually come to that conclusion even after giving this topic so much thought as you have.

Sorting people into "objective goal" and "garbage to avoid" is still dehumanizing, even if you are complimenting half of them. And telling the so called "walking fleshlights" that they should strive to be more like the "actual hot ones" is just dressing archaic talking points in brand new clothing. Those women, whether you like it or not, are still human and instead of vilifying them, it would help to understand the position of why people think prostitution is good and agrue against that RATHER than attacking the workers themselves and condeming them for not "fitting your standards". Because the problem with prostitiution isn't that the women who do it don't fit your specific tastes. This video is indicative of typice Zoomer neuroticism (viewing everything on a social and cultural basis, rather then in of itself, sexual frustrations etc.) and vapid philosophical double think, that cannot process ideas deeply and which cannot commit to either traditional conservative philosophy or pragmatic individualist progressive thinking, and is stuck in this limbo where it wants to have both.
The only interesting point being made is that videos like WAP devalue art, because it reduces rich langauge, creativity or cleverness of our artistic expression to the most literal and direct modicums of expression, which robbs it of many of it’s elements. This I agree.
*How exactly is a person who shows more of thein body less decent then the person who shows more? How is them publicly singing about sexual things unethical?* This ethical standart makes no sense in modern context, without God or religion. *You earlier brought up example of „women using thein attractive bodies while wearing clothes“ as „good example“ of empowering.* Both groups of people can (or directly use) their bodies to „arouse“ somebody. *This is LITERALLY INDECENCY, and would have been considered such in past too.* Oh sure, one is definitely more tasteful and interesting then the other....doesnt make it less traditionallz indencent or sexual.
*„We might as well check it on people who do it for a living.“. No, because that’s DUMB.That’s like comparing an dangers and downsides of UFC career fighter or a PROFESSIONAL BOXER, to a guy who is a memember of a an amateur boxing gym. *
The reason SEX WORK is so strenuous of people’s lives is because of MILLION other factors and variables other then free causal sex, BECAUSE of the fact that it is a JOB (from being essentialy treated as a profitable commodity by your employers and customers, to general abuse and mistreatment, to being disposable object of your employer, to violent and potentialy uncomfortable roleplay you perform in videos, to dissoasociation between your and your sex parners, to social stigma that comes with it etc.)
*Sex work is WORK, and WORK SUCKS.* Most regular jobs are absolutely ass and unpleasant, and sex work is just THAT coupled with sexual nature. A woman who has casual sex with whoever they want as much as they want is FUNDAMENTALLY not a sex worker (because she is not trading anything for sex) NOR do they suffer from same conditions and factory that influence lives well being of sex workers.
*This is basic correlation/causation logic 101, yet you are unable to grasb it.*
Furthermore, I really hate this Zoomer "medial literacy" where they want to read into everything and every piece of media on ideological level. Something cannot be something for sake of itself, and MUST catter to their views too otherwise it is a propaganda. A female warrior? Feminist propaganda. A black and white couple? Anti-white propaganda. Jokes involving LBGT or other minorities? Homophobia, racism etc. I swear, this problem is so intrinsic to our generation regardless of political affiliation. I literally see people decrying Wicker Man or Netflixe's Blue Eyed samurai as "anti-white propaganda" because the villains happen to be white (even though it makes sense in context), or because crying that horror movies are "urbanist propaganda", because horror movies like Friday The 13th or Halloween are set in suburbs or forest cabins (not understanding that the reason these places are chosen is BECAUSE they are IDYLLIC, thus creating good contrast for HORROR)
*„Promoting sexual indecency? Why“ Sexual decency, vulgarity etc. today has as much of a mening as „racial purity“. Nothing much and is mostly about appearences and LARP. *
*In the past*, sexual decency was about religiosity, purity and families/society trying to control’s people’s (both men and women’s) lives for various reasons, some spiritual and most purely pargmatic such as f.e. fathers trying to shape their familial legacy (and other more pragmatic reasons, such as spread of veneral diseases, ala syphylis, and LACK of BIRTH CONTROL, which would mean higher rates of maternal mortality and countless children no families that could or would take care of them).
*And even in those days, especially in Europe* songs about pleasures of flesh and brothels and such were commonplace (as that’s just how people and especiallz men are), but more or less normalized vice (similar to drinking alcohol or hunting),which men REGULARLY utilized, especially by prominent figures such as f.e. Otto Von Bismarck, nobility etc. It was only in WASP cultures, where this was kind a looked down upon, and we know how WASPs trying to control these human behaviors turned out (f.e American prohibition).
*Today, we don’t live in a world *,where religion doesnt mean much, and generally people practice religions communaly or individually. People (for better and for worse) live in more nuclear families or units, where we give our children chance to make thein own legacy then merely to continue ours and involve ourselves less in their choices (and frankly, average middle class couple doesn’t have much of legacy to begin with). If you settle with someone, you are NOT saddled with them for the rest of thein life, if they turn out to suck. Birth control is WIDELY accessible and LITERALLY at the drop of a coin. Veneral diseases are much less of a threat then it used to be. Maternal mortality is only a thing in the most poor communities, which don’t have access to healthcare. *Case and point, almost every liberl middle class community has little to no problem with teenge pregnancies, maternal mortalities and such, where as more conservative poor communities such as African Americans and Afro-Hispanics do* People can have pre-marital sex, and as much as sex as they want within marriage (which while technically Biblicaly sound, as even likes of St. Paul said marriage to serve such purpouse, but still very much „carnal“). This of course, comes with benefits and obstacles of it’s own (making choices on your own is difficult, and comes with mistakes) because most things are not purely good or bad for you.
*Regardless of how MUCH or how LITTLE, today aren’t having sex for „higher ideals“ or because they were ordered to by thein family/peers, which are things that are REQUIRED for concept of sexual decency* The highest possible ideal I see in regular people is „dating to get married“ or something, and even that is not on people’s minds during most dates, even if most of us would like to settle one daz. People have as much of sex as they want or as much as they feel they need, to achieve thein personal desires and needs. *And why wouldn’t they?* Sexual life and expression are incredibly important especially in your youth (or at the very least, interacting with opposite gender), for your maturity, socialization, your own peronal pleasure, mental and physiological health etc. *It is NOT a coincidence that Zoomers, the most perpetualy online, anti-social generation with highest rates of mental illness, have less sex and form less romantic relationships then thein predecessors…….it is not out of „decency“, as much as they would like to believe otherwise, but because everyone is apathetic, maladapted and miserable, either because of our environemnt, dating culture or personal struggles, similar to Nietzshe’s last man, who simply sits on his ass and does NOTHING. THIS IS LITERALLY FEATURE OF SOCIAL DECAY, and not DECENCY coming back to fashion.*
*And yes, almost EVERYONE does that, regardlesss of how LITTLE or how MUCH they have sexual relations.*
Yes, if you don’t have casual sex willy nilly, and don’t find it pleasurable to do so, be it because of physical revulsion, emotional response or simply because you are not looking for that type of relationship, *you are NOT exercising self control or secual decency, you are simply trying to maximize your own personal benefit, according to your own desires, needs and fears.* Most of us are mostly concerned with our own benefit, and also to try not to hurt others (a.k.a decreasing their own benefit)
*This is literal fundamental nature of HEDONISM.*

There is an intrinsic issue here your points only sustain themselves in the vacuum of a western perspective and worse, one that relies on sex being something that shouldnt be normal and understood. But this is why we need to make it normal and understood so that something like WAP isnt something that become taboo but rather becomes unimpactful.
I must ask where were those studies were done as I doubt they were done anywhere where prostitution is legal but I doubt you checked for that. Further I'd be willing to bet that you never once considered standards for beauty when generating your tirade if you had you may have reflected on the fact that objectification comes not from the participating individual but rather from those viewing. All this is to say, if those women seem objectified that mean you objectified them not they doing to themselves. If "prostitution" was legal I doubt the issue would be a willingness to participate and more so rate of pay. And if you strictly believe WAP and similar art is some how damaging, please elaborate how it exactly hurt you? Because as it seems right now this is just pearl clutching, clutching that only got worse AFTER you expanded in a second video all this is, is a tyrade complaining that some girls acting like they love sex and being labeled as damaging. Well sorry to inform you but what is the stereotype for men and sex? And somehow when a woman who wishes to show a similar demeanor makes a song it becomes disgusting? Or is it simply the idea of sex being had in such a robust and obvious manner? If it's the later then the Pearl's are being clutched at the concept of sex in a modern age at which point I can only ask, why not express a love for something that literally propagates humanity and is literally a necessity for our survival as a species.

"why not express a love for something that literally propagates humanity and is literally a necessity for our survival as a species."
Probably because that same thing is also responsible for/tied to several BAD things when mishandled and done in a careless manner. STDs. Unwanted pregnancies (which then brings in the whole issue of abortion). Cheating on partners. "Trafficking". Etc. All because a fair number of people have a degenerate view of sex, believing that the pleasure itself is all that matters and that they should do whatever to acquire it if not abuse it for their own gains, an idea not helped by the media portray sex in said manner. You description of sex as "something that literally propagates humanity and is literally a necessity for our survival as a species" is not the kind of sex that the media pushes to get your attention and get you to buy their product.

It's damaging to society, which in turns, hurts all of us. It's promoting "sucking and f***ing" as if it's some kind of normal thing, and that's not healthy for anybody. If you wanna be a male feminist, go back to Twitter.
