"Perhaps Revan never fell. The difference between a fall and a sacrifice is sometimes difficult, but I feel that Revan understood that difference, more than anyone knew. The galaxy would have fallen if Revan had not gone to war." - Kreia/Darth Traya.
Yeah my thoughts exactly Kolbein. This guy is wrong. Revan's mind wasn't "dominated". The Sith Emperor convinced Revan to become a Sith, and gave Revan the location of the Star Forge, but that convinced Revan to form his own Empire and train his own army of Dark Jedi and Sith acolytes, in preperation for Vitiate's Sith Empire. If Revan had not lost his memories and had defeated the Republic as a Sith, then eventually both of the Empires would have gone to war against eachother. In the end he wanted to fight fire with fire.
This is 2 years late but he's actually right. There is a Star Wars book called Revan and it confirms that his mind was dominated which completely diminished his character.
@@dkurtz111 it really sucks that they took a really complicated and intricate character and turned his story to be your typical good and evil story. I wish SWTOR didn't touch revan. But Bioware neded bucks
I've always liked Kreia's interpretation & explanation for Revan's "fall," and it's how I choose to think of it. Revan never truly "fell," in the sense that he was seduced by the dark side, Revan ALLOWED himself to fall in order to either strengthen the Republic or replace it with something stronger, either way, the purpose was to prepare the galaxy for the threat (the Eternal Emperor) that existed in the unknown regions. Revan even deliberately limited his time on the Star Forge in order to control its dark side influence on him, so that he would never fully lose control & fall, as Malak did. Just because he wasn't a traditional Jedi in the end, and certainly wasn't a Champion of the light, doesn't mean he fell into darkness. He found true balance in the force and every action he took, even sacrificing himself by allowing himself to "fall," was to protect & prepare the galaxy from the imminent threat posed by the Emperor. It's safe to say that Revan's actions, even his war against the Jedi & Republic, along with his confrontation of the Emperor, postponed the Emperor's plans of invasion for centuries and safeguarded the Republic. Jedi who fall to the dark side, in the traditional sense, are seduced and corrupted by it and it ultimately becomes their master. Revan knew the dangers and was strong enough to fall, while never actually truly succumbing to the dark side as well as remaining detached, & strong, enough to always keep his own agenda, that being the protection of the galaxy, as his motivating force. It's like Malak said, Revan was never a true Sith, he was no longer a Jedi, he became something more than either sect and represented genuine balance within the force. Even when he was playing the villain, he was really the hero.
I agree to a point. I think those were his intentions during the Mando Wars, but I do believe he did actually fall to the Dark Side properly. During the Mandalorian Wars he fell slowly but surely, corrupting himself with each victory, yet remaining with good intentions all the same. It was only in his confrontation with the Emperor that he was pushed to the edge, to become DARTH Revan. He was already on the path to the Dark Side, he just eeded a last little shove. When he went as Darth Revan is when I believe he was truly a Sith. But even when he had fallen to the Dark Side, he still had the galaxy in mind. He freed himself from the Emperor's control but not from the dark side. He wanted to conquer the galaxy to make it strong enough to withstand the Sith Empire's future invasion. He left key systems intact or relatively undamaged f\purposefully. He wanted the Galaxy stable and strong for when the time came. Of course Malak didn't have these same goals since he started destroying with less care for the galaxy, which leads me to believe that Malak either didn't remember the other Sith Empire (mind wipe?) or he simply didn't care. But he wasn't the "Balance" that he later became. Not yet. He was DARTH Revan through and through. It was only when his memories had been erased when he started on the path to true balance. At first he was light side, completely and utterly. On his way to being traditional Jedi, but over the course of his journey his personality resurfaced, but this time it didn't take full control. He didn't fall to the Dark Side like before, but he didn't remain with the dogmatic views of the Jedi from that time either. And it all became cemented when he learned the truth. When he learned that he was once Darth Revan, the leader of the Sith. The new Revan knew the flaws of both the light and the dark, for he had experienced both. Revan had come out wiser from that. He learned from his past duality, his horrific acts and heroic deeds. He was Revan Reborn at last, and he was greater than ever. "Savior, conqueror, hero, villain. You are all things, Revan... and yet you are nothing. In the end, you belong to neither the light nor the darkness. You will forever stand alone." And then SWTOR came and shat on the character....
I don't think Revan never knew about the eternal emperor or the eternal empire Vitiate took over Valkorian's body and completely suppressed his mind most likely right after Revan and Malak broke free from Vitiate's will
Me personally, I like to consider the Revan book's backstory my head-canon. By that I mean. My head canon includes Kotor 1 and 2, and the backstory explained in the Revan book, so the Mandalore mask being hidden, his past confrontation with the Emperor, Mandalore being manipulated by the Sith, but not the events IN the Revan book, so not the stupid Meetra death, not the pathetic Revan imprisonment, etc etc.
I hated that Revan and Surik had "canon" appearances in The Old Republic; it made choosing genders for their characters pointless. Revan used to be a female and Surik a male in my playthroughs...
Why all the hate on Vitiate??? I think he's one of the best villians in Star Wars Before swtor came out Wasn't it speculated in kotor 2, that Revan was searching for the Sith Lord that seduced him to the dark side? Or at least that's what I believed in 2008
"And there is something that council may never understand. That perhaps Revan never fell. The difference a between a fall and a sacrifice is sometimes difficult, but I believe Revan understood that difference more than anyone knew. The galaxy would have fallen if Revan had not gone to war. Perhaps he became the dark lord out of necessity, to prevent a greater evil. I do not believe the Jedi council changed Revan as they claimed, they merely stripped away the surface and allowed the true self to emerge once again, someone who was willing to wage war to save others." - Kreia
1:54 If you think about it, the riddles have to do with the planets the Rakata placed star maps on: Desert is Tatooine, arboreal is Kashyyyk, grassland is Dantooine, volcanic is Korriban, and Oceanic is Manaan.
Yes he is the best Sith-Lord ever while he was barely 5-6 Years a Sith-Lord.... seems legit... considering the achievements of Sith-Lords Vitiate would be the top by creating 2 successful Empires, he reconstructed the Sith Empire after the genocide to a galactic power who can rival the Republic and Zakuul and this Empire dominated the entire Galaxy so yeah... Revan didn't achieve much than trying to eradicate every Sith by DNA-Code and causing the destruction of ziost in his blind anger.
I personally always disliked the whole... Vitiate thing anyway. I felt like it was cheap, and I like the idea of him willingly going to the Dark Side COMPLETELY of his own volition and coming back better than whatever SWTOR tried to pull. I kind of hope he becomes canon and SWTOR doesn't just because it would restore that to his character. I do kind of disagree that Revan's original intentions weren't noble. I think a lot of factors pushed him into becoming less noble (the comics make it pretty clear that Malak's torture kind of flipped the switch in Malak AT LEAST from "we want to help the Republic" to "we want to decimate the Mandalorians), but his original intentions were pure and motivated by a desire to help the people of the Galaxy. As with all things, I think his obsession with finding ways to stop the Mandalorians is what drove him progressively farther toward the Dark Side as the war went on and he slipped farther and farther down the slope toward Sithdom. It was my personal impression after reading the comic that it was gradual. But as always, from a lore standpoint this video is great. Thank you for doing this lore play! I've learned a lot of things and it will help when I'm editing my novelization.
That's one thing I miss from legends... The jedi had a historical reason to get totally envolved with the clone wars: last time they did not their order split, the war got worst and the period was known as a Jedi Civil War, which led meny jedi to the dark side. By becoming generals without hesitation they were hoping to control this kind of issue, even though they lost their way, as Yoda said, they were trying to be better then their past.
Wish these videos where you play through and explain lore were just a little longer. I always like hearing the lore but I also like hearing about the game. This one in particular really felt like "So we got a vision," and that was the entirety of the game part (as opposed to lore part). I know making videos is a lot of work, and Im not trying to throw more work at you. I just kinda want to give you my opinion as a viewer. I kinda ended the video with a "thats it?" feeling : / That said this is great lore on Revan and Malak. I haven't been able to play through like I want, but I know the general story of the KOTOR games. Watching these videos really helps me understand the story a lot better.
I've got a great explanation for Revan's "fall". The Force is a self-balancing aspect of nature without a will, so when the overwhelmingly dominant faction of Force-users draw primarily on one aspect of the Force (Light Side or Dark Side), either others will become powerful in the neglected aspect, or the dominant faction will be squashed. The Rakatan "Infinite Empire" was built on the use of the Dark Side of the Force, and they so thoroughly squelched all opposition, that the Force re-balanced itself by cutting them off. The Jedi rose to power, and exclusively teach the Light Side of the Force, so multiple times individuals have found the vast, untapped wellspring of power in the Dark Side, resulting in the rise of the Sith Lords, significantly more powerful than their Light Side counterparts, because the Light Side's power is distributed between a vastly larger number of people. Eventually Revan figured this out and decided to remove a variable from the table, and he gave himself over to the Dark Side, becoming a threat to the Republic so he could mitigate the damage that was inflicted (such as his refusal to destroy shipyards and other means of production for the Republic, so they could continue to defend themselves). By devoting himself to the Dark Side, and taking that power for his own, Revan prevented that power from being wielded by someone who actually intended to destroy the Republic. Revan was reformed following his near-death by Malak's betrayal, returning to the Light Side of the Force. The state of the galaxy now was dominated by Dark Side users, so Revan's devotion to the Light Side made him more powerful than any of the Dark Side users of his time, as the Force continues to self-balance. Years later, more Sith Lords rise to power and further exterminate the Jedi, resulting in the Exile's meteoric rise to power to confront them, showing that the Force is still self-balancing. I expect that the "Rule of 2" was created by the Sith, not just to prevent students from teaming-up on their masters, but to consolidate the Dark Side power, because if there are hundreds or thousands of Light Side Users, and the Force is self-balancing, the two Dark Side users will be exponentially more powerful than any of the Light Side users. As such the destruction of the Jedi durring Order 66 would diminish the Sith Lord's power, because it removes the pull of the Light Side, reducing the push he's getting from the Dark Side.
I don't think he would've turned per say, but taken more of a grey Jedi kind of approach. Doing what he felt was the right thing to do, even if that broke the Jedi code
He was definitely a Sith. He wielded a purple lightsaber, denoting the line he walks between Jedi and Sith, and a red lightsaber to signify he's a Sith. Grey Jedi tended to kind of distance themselves away from not only the Order's teachings, but also the galaxy itself. Examples are Luke from The Last Jedi and Zez Kai-Ell from KOTOR2.
I think the riddles were designed as clues to the locations of the maps to the Star Forge. Of course, in an entire galaxy that doesn't narrow things down, but this is a game.
I don't understand, in the game Malak was asking where is Jedi academy, but he alredy saw star map on dantooine so he was there and he know about the academy so why did he ask ?
KOTOR 1 loreplay: Its silly how much trust the Jedi put into Revan! KOTOR 2 loreplay: Kreia is right about the nature of the force. The Jedi council is foolish to stick to Jedi doctrine when new truths are revealed.
I have to say, Maybe. People forget, Revan didn't order the Mass Shadow Generator to be activated. Instead, he defeated the Mandalorians, by defeating Mandalor in personal Combat. No, it was the Meetra Surik, the Jedi Exile, who ordered the activation of the Mass Shadow Generators. As for thinking that the Republic couldn't stand on its own? Well, it was LOSING before Revan and his Jedi joined up. There were also do major events that shaped why Revan was so focused on Winning. The First, at least from Revan's perspective, would have been the battle of Serroco, in which the Mandalorians bombarded the planet with Nuclear Bombs. The other, is that after being expressly forbidden from helping with the War, Revan and the Jedi following him, went to Cathar. They were there, to try and figure out what had happened to the Cathar people, and get Solid evidence. When Revan found a buried Mandalorian Mask, in the a mass grave, the Jedi had a collective vision. They witnessed the Battle through that Force Vision, including one Mandalorian woman, refusing to slaughter the defeated Cathar. She was gunned down with them. Revan then swore, on her mask, to stop the Mandalorians. He wore that mask, as a reminder of that pledge.
Okay *star wars explained*, explain this... What's the difference between all the sith empires? I mean the one that Revan and malak founded. What's the difference between their empire, Nihilus' in KOTOR2, and vitiate's in SWTOR? Are they all the same? Are they different? How are they connected? This is my issues... In KOTOR1, you "destroy" the sith. But how big was it? Was it a nomadic empire that operated exclusively through fleets and mobility, or did they actually conquer a significant part of the galaxy? Then when the star forge is destroyed, what happens to them after that? Do they surrender? Are they purged by the Jedi? I understand Revan leaves to find the sith emperor in distant parts of the galaxy, but what does that make Nihilus? Is that a new sith empire, or just a small sith enclave? What was Nihilus doing 5 years ago during KOTOR1? was he ever in contact with Revan or malak? Is he connected to this emperor Revan was hunting? Also, where did this *Other* empire come from that Revan is hunting? Is it a remnant? Did someone take over when the star forge was destroyed like snoke and the first order? Did Revan try to hunt down the remains of the old empire that he created? I hear the emperor he was hunting was 'Vitiate', but isn't he also the emperor in SWTOR? THERES SO MANY SIFFERENT EMPERORS AND SITH LORDS IM SO LOST.
I always liked to think that by the time Revan encountered the Sith Empire he was completely a sith himself and not liking the idea of a rival (as is the way of the sith} Reva returned to Republic space in order to conquer the Republic as an empire of his own in order to fend off and even conquer Vitiate`s Sith Empire (that being why he preserved the infrastructure of the Republic)
Though Revan had the Initial Seeds of the Dark Side, the only way that he could've fallen was when he cared too much & was willing to Sacrifice just about Everything to do so.
No... It showed a vision on how Revan and Malak were trying to find the Star Map AFTER falling after meeting the Emperor on Dromund Kaas. The Emperor sent Malak and Revan to find the Star Maps, after twisting them
Revan may not have been the most powerful Force user, as his detracters will say repeatedly, but he accomplished so much in his life. The only other person who I think can even compare to the achievements of Revan is Darth Sidious. Such a shame he isn't canon anymore
In Canon I guess the Mandalorians can be considered the greatest warriors as they were the only major warrior culture/nation to have fought against both the Republic and the Jedi (at least as far as the new canon goes). Also in Canon you could consider the Nightsisters tribes whose mystical arts could arguably give them an edge against any Mandalorian in a fight. But in Legends that title could go to either to the Rakatan Infinite Empire or the Yuuzhan Vong. Yet I'd argue that the original Sith Empire were the greatest warriors: they were the only primitive society to have fought and won against the technologically superior Rakatan Infinite Empire, on multiple occasions came close to defeat the Republic and the Jedi, every time they were driven to extinction they would only come back stronger... just an unbelievable track record of unique warrior feats (both individually and collectively)
They are the best Non-force users. Able to content with even powerful jedi knights! Some very skilled Mandos can even content with Jedi Masters and for that matter Sith, which is incredibly impressive considering the fact that they do not have the Force at their disposal.
love Kotor and Kotor 2 lore but don't like what happens after when he is split into two.I think it is unnecessary and hope it does not come into cannon if they bring back Revan.
I have a question for another video, why did Sith Anakin need to get a suit after losing against Obi-Wan. He only got 3 limbs cut off and burned, couldn't they have just heal him and keep him out of a suit?
Healing is light side power. Sith are too full of hate to use the light side. Also it seems that Jedi also lost good deal of knowledge about force healing. Anakin did not know about force healing. If he did then might not turned to the dark side.
Darth Revan You?You didnt get brainwashed, youre just a normal human on the internet.Revan, who is a fictional character not existing in our world is the one who got brainwashed
I don't hate swtor the same way so many others do but I was dissapoonted when it was revealed the sith emperor was behind revans fall and especially the mandalorian wars
imagine a darth Revan old republic animated series 😫 it could follow him and Bastilla Shan, Darth Traya who was his master , Darth Sion , darth nihilus..
I think if they do a SWTOR show, they'll likely combine certain characters to simplify things. Like Revan will be Tar Viszla, Bastilla and Satele might be the same person, same with Malak And Malgus. In know those are all different parts in time, but it would be weird from a show standpoint to have so many similar characters in a story.
Revan would have fallen to the dark side without the Sith Emperor, absolutely. The Mandalorian War had its consequnces, which is just natural. He wouldn't necessarily have become a Sith, but I think the knowledge gleaned from the Trayus Academy was tempting enough to facilitate that. But what makes Revan great is less what he was, but what he will eventually become
Timbyte Malak fell deeper than Revan. Malak wanted the Republic destroyed, Revan only got to the point of deeming Jedi traitors to the Republic.. Think Anakin pre-lava vs post.
What if Anakin couldn't kill the younglings? Think about it: "Anakin, now Darth Vader, ignited his lightsaber. The younglings flinched. He could not breathe, they stood no chance against him. They were not Battle Droids or the traitorous Jedi, they were children. He thought of Padmé: they were soon to have a child of their own-the thought of killing a child and alienating her was too much. It would haunt him for the rest of his life, like a shadow. He closed his eyes, thinking carefully about his next move."
Play the second game and pay close attention to Kreia and Disciple. Revan never truly fell. He made sacrifices true, and he was no light hedi pansy but he was never fully dark.
You forgot the part where Revan and Malak broke free of the Emperor's control. Granted, they had already fallen to the dark side by that point, but freedom from the Emperor is what drove Malak to desire power for himself and turn on Revan. SWTOR kinda fucked up their story. Now we have to take the Emperor's mind control into account, and that they kinda, sorta just broke free at some point, but also remained dark side for some reason, perhaps the Emperor did some lasting damage and corruption? Perhaps they had already fallen even before they discovered Dromund Kaas? Anyway, their actions and motivations in KOTOR indicate they were acting on free will, not under mind control. SPOILER: In SWTOR when the player is mind-controlled by the Emperor, he/she remembers nothing from the last few months after being freed. Revan, on the other hand, only lost his memory due to the Jedi tampering with him, and is implied to have regained all of his memory by KOTOR 2, as he went off to search for Dromund Kaas again. No character under mind-control in SWTOR ever regains their memory.
Revan never truly fell, or if he did, it only lasted less than a month(the amount on time taken to get back to the republic from dromund kaas). That's when the brainwashing by the sith emperor wore off. Then Revan went to conquer the republic to save it. Sometimes you have to do bad things to do good. The republic was a tired, bloated, crippled beast just sitting there waiting to die. Revan tried to save it.
Darth Revan is my favorite Sith Lord and in my opinion revan had one foot in the dark side a one on a banana peel all the emperor did was give him the final push
Revan's fall should have been Anakin's fall. What if Anakin and Obi-Wan are the ones who go into war against the clone army despite the peacekeeping Jedi councils wishes, thes win but Anakin falls to the dark, Obi-Wan and Anakin goes to confront Palpatine, the one who triggered the clone war, but anakin is seduced, fights Obi, who escapes back to the republic, Anakin now Vader leads Palpatines Empire and destroys the Republic with the Jedi.
There was no Vitiate in Knights of the Old Republic. That crap was added with MMO release and the book that came with it to hype the new villian. It's poorly written, doesn't make much sense and took a massive dump on KOTOR 1&2. It's like we would now find out that Snoke was the real emperor and Paplatine was just his servant. There would be riots in the streets for ruining previous storyline just like with Revan.
Hagbard I will forever wish that Revan and the Exile didn't have to meet the end they apparently met. Some people will furiously defend the Revan in SWTOR, but he just comes off as an insane cult leader to me and a complete insult to the character.
Personally I enjoyed Kotor 2 more as it was a bit darker and more profound, giving you a different perspective. However in that wretched book they've treated the Exile like she was a regular Jedi bodyguard whatever. It felt like the author simply just spent maybe 5 minutes in the game, "randomed" his character name from the options given and pasted into his book. So disappointing...
Me personally, I like to consider the Revan book's backstory my head-canon. By that I mean. My head canon includes Kotor 1 and 2, and the backstory explained in the Revan book, so the Mandalore mask being hidden, Revan and Malak's past confrontation with the Emperor, Mandalore being manipulated by the Sith, but not the events IN the Revan book, so not the stupid Meetra death, not the pathetic Revan imprisonment, etc etc.
I've never liked Star Wars games with lightsaber's. A lightsaber should only need "ONE" hit to kill anything and yet in KOTOR you need like 10 hits on some enemy...
The force is funny this way. I think he wouldve gone to the dark side regardless. The Light side never seems to have the tools to get fast results... The more he uncovered the more he'd slip into the dark. The meeting the Emperor was destined. Also why isn't Dromund Kaas in present day lore? It wasn't too far from "Korriban"/"Morriban" same sector of space "Sith Space" Sheev knew about "Morriban" but not Dromond Kaas? There's a ton of sith temples and stuff there if SWTOR is anything to go by. Probably endless sith knowledge.
This is wrong... Revan took control of the starforge after finding the empire and deciding he needed to strengthen the republic before the empire invaded and pushed their shit in. The only way he thought would work was to take control and militarize them, using his fleet to attempt a coup
Any group who don't stop genocide like what the Mandalorien was doing for 10 years can not be call good. The name of the group is the Jedi. The Jedi see them self has peace keeper when they should be thing them self has protector of the weak. That is why all the galaxy has believe Palpatine that they where traitor.
you forgot to mention how their will was so strong they forgot what the emperor sent them to do which was test the might of the republic and report back to him... instead they started a war thinking it was their own will and never let the emperor know how weak the republic was after the Jedi Civil War.... wait sorry that all pre KTOR 2 stuff I'll shut up now.
The same in the video just remove the reference to the emperor completing Revan and Malak's fall to the dark side and replace all mentions of the sith empire with mentions of an unknown threat to the main galaxy.
I hate the stupid Revan book and how it added that Revan's mind was dominated. It ruins one of the big ideas in KOTOR 2, that Revan was doing what he knew had to be done to save the Galaxy. That stupid book completely diminished his character.
I never grew up with KOTOR (due to the fact I was born in 2001) so I'm not as butt hurt as some fans of Revan's backstory in SWTOR and the book. I learned about Revan through SWTOR and the book so I always view him the way the way I saw him in those. I only started playing KOTOR last year and I kind of got bored of it because I already know what happens so my mind kinda went "what's the point?". I play it occasionally when I'm a bit bored but I will never see the game in the special way many of you see it in. I wish I could. If only I was born earlier
Revan fell to the darkside, not Darth Revan. A Darth cannot fall to the darkside...they already have. >< However, Darth Revan was redeemed and returned to the lightside (or grey depending on how you look at it) and as such became Revan once more...Revan reborn.
Michael Ryan I couldn't get it to work at first either. Have you tried changing your computer screen resolution to 800x600 and changing the in game setting to match? It worked for me. If it's still crashing make sure you have the shadows and grass turned off, and you should look up if you need to put it in windowed mode or not.

Yeah my thoughts exactly Kolbein. This guy is wrong. Revan's mind wasn't "dominated". The missing piece of this puzzle is that Revan was greatly influenced by his old master Aren Kai, Who followed some dangerous philosophies.
Sith Emperor? *laughs* What Sith Emperor? *Continues to vigorously deny the existence of the novel and Revan's part in SWtOR*
EnderHeart5911 SAMMMEEEE
I hated that Revan and Surik had "canon" appearances in The Old Republic; it made choosing genders for their characters pointless. Revan used to be a female and Surik a male in my playthroughs...
Why all the hate on Vitiate???
I think he's one of the best villians in Star Wars
Before swtor came out
Wasn't it speculated in kotor 2, that Revan was searching for the Sith Lord that seduced him to the dark side?
Or at least that's what I believed in 2008
@Cris John Ferrer Same here, Revan is female to me. For Exile I don't have a preference.
When Obi-Wan told Anakin being a Padawan was hard, he wasn't kidding.
I prefer to think that Revan and Malak became siths by choice instead of obliged by the Sith Emperor
Yea I don't like that retcon.
It maybe just my opinion, but I think Darth Revan is the best Sith Lord ever! :)
Appreciated
Ron Kelley darth nihilus
Yes he is the best Sith-Lord ever while he was barely 5-6 Years a Sith-Lord.... seems legit... considering the achievements of Sith-Lords Vitiate would be the top by creating 2 successful Empires, he reconstructed the Sith Empire after the genocide to a galactic power who can rival the Republic and Zakuul and this Empire dominated the entire Galaxy so yeah... Revan didn't achieve much than trying to eradicate every Sith by DNA-Code and causing the destruction of ziost in his blind anger.
I'm reading Revan right now, this segment was super relevant. Thanks Alex, great job!
Revan will return to canon I know it
Andree Castillo: Optimism! :)
Look who's back now.
He almost made a cameo in star wars clone wars
@@lilianemachadostigliano1727 he made one in tros
Can you do a video on basically what the galactic republic is, the rebellion, the empire, and all the groups
I kinda ended the video with a "thats it?" feeling : /
That said this is great lore on Revan and Malak. I haven't been able to play through like I want, but I know the general story of the KOTOR games. Watching these videos really helps me understand the story a lot better.
For the weekly Q & A:Are non force sensitive people able to see force ghosts/spirits?
I always thought that the player character was rushed through training because they already knew most of it. He/she just had to remember.
Man, I love KOTOR. I own it on Steam but can't get it to work on Windows 10. Great video, keep up the good work.
I always found the sith Emperor's role in their fall to be silly, the rest is really compelling though
Seeing this video made me remember how much I like Bastilla's accent!
Darth Revan has to be made canon !!
longer episodes plz
Shit imagine if they made a trilogy around revan
I don't think he would've turned per say, but taken more of a grey Jedi kind of approach. Doing what he felt was the right thing to do, even if that broke the Jedi code
He was definitely a Sith. He wielded a purple lightsaber, denoting the line he walks between Jedi and Sith, and a red lightsaber to signify he's a Sith. Grey Jedi tended to kind of distance themselves away from not only the Order's teachings, but also the galaxy itself. Examples are Luke from The Last Jedi and Zez Kai-Ell from KOTOR2.
I’ve been looking for an explanation for this since the beginning of time
Have you done a video on the hand grips in Star Wars and who used that specific hand grip
I'm guessing you got high influence with Kreia to find this out. :)
Good vid man
I think the riddles were designed as clues to the locations of the maps to the Star Forge. Of course, in an entire galaxy that doesn't narrow things down, but this is a game.
Destroy the Starforge, we must
I don't understand, in the game Malak was asking where is Jedi academy, but he alredy saw star map on dantooine so he was there and he know about the academy so why did he ask ?
Alex what do you like and don't like about episodes 1 2 and 3?
Revan MIGHT'VE fell to the dark side eventually. Or another possibility would be he'd become a grey jedi.
My favorite Legends Sith are Revan, Bane, Malak, Malgus, Nihilus, Zannah, and Ruin. Andeddu was pretty good too
Dantooine Jedi Council:so what color crystal do you want Blue Green Yellow Purple Purple great here shove this into that
I don't get why the jedi that want the most to destroy the sith ends up as sith always
How tall is Revan? He seems to be short
Perhaps a story most fitting for the big screen
Lol, I liked it better when you were trolling like crazy, but good video man!
Though Revan had the Initial Seeds of the Dark Side, the only way that he could've fallen was when he cared too much & was willing to Sacrifice just about Everything to do so.
I love Darth raven he us my favorite sith and jedi
What was the revan book called
Lama Duckie Star wars the old republic: Revan
Are the Mandalorians the greatest warriors in Star Wars?
Comandante Magno that's like comparing apples to oranges
+How about the Rakata or the Yuuzhan Vong?
2:31 Pssshhh... it's obviously FLAT.
love Kotor and Kotor 2 lore but don't like what happens after when he is split into two.I think it is unnecessary and hope it does not come into cannon if they bring back Revan.
I have a question for another video, why did Sith Anakin need to get a suit after losing against Obi-Wan. He only got 3 limbs cut off and burned, couldn't they have just heal him and keep him out of a suit?
SomeRandomKid He need the suit to breathe because his lungs got fucked from the battle
Yeah, it was more than just burns and a few limbs
Healing is light side power. Sith are too full of hate to use the light side. Also it seems that Jedi also lost good deal of knowledge about force healing. Anakin did not know about force healing. If he did then might not turned to the dark side.
Shit, I love KOTOR so much. Best Star Wars game ever. I miss playing it.
I never thought about it before, but why was Revan dressed so much like a sith while he still were a jedi?
didnt reven go back to the light side?
yea
brainwash
Darth Revan You?You didnt get brainwashed, youre just a normal human on the internet.Revan, who is a fictional character not existing in our world is the one who got brainwashed
yes, the canon (when legends was still canon)was playing as male and going trough and ending the game on light side
I don't hate swtor the same way so many others do but I was dissapoonted when it was revealed the sith emperor was behind revans fall and especially the mandalorian wars
imagine a darth Revan old republic animated series 😫
it could follow him and Bastilla Shan, Darth Traya who was his master , Darth Sion , darth nihilus..
I think they could realistically do a series on the Mandilorian War.
I WANT THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lucy Logan No it isn't.
What's up guys
I think Revans Fate would have been a little differant but I also think he still would have fallen.
2:26 FłÆt ĘärTh ŠøçĮÉTÿ.
Kreia- fall?
Darth Malak rocks!
Timbyte Malak fell deeper than Revan. Malak wanted the Republic destroyed, Revan only got to the point of deeming Jedi traitors to the Republic.. Think Anakin pre-lava vs post.
man, swtor was a mistake. Kotor and Kotor 2 remain great, though.
sigmund rumney You Dare Speak Negatively About Star Wars The Old Republic
What if Anakin couldn't kill the younglings?
Think about it: "Anakin, now Darth Vader, ignited his lightsaber. The younglings flinched. He could not breathe, they stood no chance against him. They were not Battle Droids or the traitorous Jedi, they were children. He thought of Padmé: they were soon to have a child of their own-the thought of killing a child and alienating her was too much. It would haunt him for the rest of his life, like a shadow. He closed his eyes, thinking carefully about his next move."
Revan is a good guy. Never that he was evil. It was the sith emperor who made Reven evil. Good video as usual.
What if ahsoka turned vader back to the light
Has anyone else tried getting into this game, but just couldn't cause of the gameplay? Lore is awesome though.
You get use to the gameplay after a few hours. I know it's hard for today standards. It's very rewarding however to go through it.
I DONT HAV H1N1 I've had that problem... Until I got to hear enough dialogues to realize how much of a gem is this game.
Hagbard I don't know man, I like shooters in real time. Not turn based RPGs.
My head canon includes Kotor 1 and 2, and the backstory explained in the Revan book, so the Mandalore mask being hidden, Revan and Malak's past confrontation with the Emperor, Mandalore being manipulated by the Sith, but not the events IN the Revan book, so not the stupid Meetra death, not the pathetic Revan imprisonment, etc etc.
hi
Some Day Dreamer Dromund Kaas literally is on the other side of the galaxy
This is wrong... Revan took control of the starforge after finding the empire and deciding he needed to strengthen the republic before the empire invaded and pushed their shit in. The only way he thought would work was to take control and militarize them, using his fleet to attempt a coup
Any group who don't stop genocide like what the Mandalorien was doing for 10 years can not be call good. The name of the group is the Jedi. The Jedi see them self has peace keeper when they should be thing them self has protector of the weak. That is why all the galaxy has believe Palpatine that they where traitor.
longer vids, you won't get in time for Battlefront 2
you forgot to mention how their will was so strong they forgot what the emperor sent them to do which was test the might of the republic and report back to him... instead they started a war thinking it was their own will and never let the emperor know how weak the republic was after the Jedi Civil War.... wait sorry that all pre KTOR 2 stuff I'll shut up now.
And ppl diss on Anakin for betraying the order for a bad reason
I think revan would turn to the dark side with out the sith emperor
What was Revans story before they updated it with that awful mmo? I personally don't like the sith emperor explanation.
The same in the video just remove the reference to the emperor completing Revan and Malak's fall to the dark side and replace all mentions of the sith empire with mentions of an unknown threat to the main galaxy.
That's what I thought. Appreciate it.
Darn 2nd
W
What if Mace Windu was gay?
Legends Lore states that he used his Lightsaber to poke a gloryhole into the mens bathroom at the Jedi Temple and that Yoda spent a lot of time there
How long was his "lightsaber"?
Im the 33 Comment. Huh Do I get a medal or somethin' like that?
Revan fell to the darkside, not Darth Revan. A Darth cannot fall to the darkside...they already have. >< However, Darth Revan was redeemed and returned to the lightside (or grey depending on how you look at it) and as such became Revan once more...Revan reborn.
So he was.... Re-Reved?
Female Revan is still best Revan
Man, I love KOTOR. I own it on Steam but can't get it to work on Windows 10. Great video, keep up the good work.
Michael Ryan someone needs to make a patch it, there's got to be a windows 7, 8, and 10 patch
I will try that out. Thanks
