@homefultv this episode has at minimum the wrong title and description as their isn’t a single wheelchair lift anywhere it’s not the correct one I am not sure which episode this actually is but it has nothing to do with a wheelchair lift so if you could fix it that would be great
As he says, looks can be deceiving. United, so true. I love how he tells us, always, at the end, how much it all costs. It's unbelievable, but now you know how much it costs to fix it correctly-what should have been done in the first place. Love this, Holmes, make it right!
good episode but i think whoever is uploading the videos may need to double check the videos they are uploading matches the name and discription of the vids. not the first time ive seen the difference
Over 500k and didn't last 5 years. In a half million-dollar house it should be built with the best of everything. I prefer a smooth ceiling, but I can't see the patched. (Amazing work)
@@ronbennett7885 I wonder if the builder and these people that such shameful, lazy, and cheap work do they have any embarrassment or do they even care they do such a horrible work. It's sad if they don't show some good standard of to take pride in their work.

Sweet family. As a photographer who specializes in working with families with special needs, I've photographed many children and young adults with Downs, and I never would have guessed that boy had Downs, I would have thought it was autism.
THIS is exactly why I wouldn't want a new house, even if it were given to me. I'd want WW2 era and before, before quality took a back seat to speed of building. Modernity sucks! Must be my age. So be it. 😊
True, but the knob and tube wiring was still being installed in many homes then. The electric retrofit is not cheap... The fabric coated wires were the upgrade at that time. I have to replace all of my wiring... Sigh...
@denisegaylord382 I do understand. I'd easily replace all of the wiring and plumbing in an older house to have the quality of the construction. But that's just me. We're all different.
@@angelbulldog4934 I understand. And I am agreeing with you. An older home was more solidly built. My current residence was built in the late 30's(?) It was built completely out of cinderblocks. In a time when just having a roof over head was a blessing. So wiring was added after electrification came to our area. But by today's standards, it is junk. But it is replaceable...
Unfortunately there’s no such thing as cheap materials anymore. Allot of building supplies especially bathtubs and vanities post covid are absolute junk and expensive. Everything I bought at Lowe’s to remodel a bathroom was absolute junk!
Enjoyable Holmes Episode, Thank You! Although the description is for a different episode not this one.
And not a single Wheelchair Lift was seen in this episode
Agreed and the description doesn’t match either. Definitely an editor error. 🇨🇦
Oh no, whatever will we do?
@@patsgarage8593 Actually, as a disabled senior, I would like to see the episode about the wheelchair lift as I may need one someday.

Great episode but as a disabled person this was definitely labeled wrong.

No wheelchair lifts or pigeons were harmed in the making of this episode.
The house price mentioned was 580,000 in 2007 and I looked up this property which is in Oakville and it recently sold for 1,850,000 in January 2024.
After Mike fixed it. She made $1,270,000
Not bad for complaining about your home.
Then Mike showed up and made it better.

It's worse than that. Bought around 2008 (2013 - 5). When adjusted for inflation, would be closer to $1 million Canadian now.

lovely episode but you got the wrong episode name number and description
15:00 "There's no one behind me" - Derek, you just learned the phrase SRD - "S*** Rolls Downhill" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lesson 1: When the contractor does not immetiatley honour the new home warranty, haul the lying beggar into court.
I could see a class action lawsuit against the builder... I hope they did and won.

$500,000+ home and they're spaced less than 10 feet apart. Nice!
This is actually Episode 203 - 5 years old 😊

Heart breaking seeing all that 5-year-old material filling up the dumpsters.
This is actually episode 2x03 - Five Years Old FYI
My guess is they accidentally put up the wrong episode instead of the $17,500 Wheelchair lift one
not the first time

Cave. Best house ever
Interesting but not the episode in the title
Title was meant for another video. Accidentals errors do happen
This is the second or third episode with the wrong title and description. GET ON THE BALL GANG!!!
i have to ask....what is that white box on the balcony where the birds are staying? what does it do?
It's called a scupper drain. Water flows in from the balcony deck and is directed to the gutter below it.
@@Mark.Watson ok, i thought that is where the bird's nest was......that can not be.
They must've pinned the wrong episode still it was a good one
Wrong title for the episode?
600 grand and they couldn't do it right and make a profit! Wish they say who built the house.
Just asking is the blue spray foam as flammable as the DIY white stuff???
Try google.

as far as i know not as flammable but still about as flammable as regular bat insulation
