I have this tripod. I also have a Manfrotto. I love them both. The Heipi is the best travel tripod that money can buy. The legs never get spindly. They are solid and stable. The sub-tripod creates a centre column with which no other centre column can compare. I have a flippy screen on my cameras and am pretty tall. I flip the screen up and see OK to compose and shoot. I can bend to look through the viewfinder, but when I am using the camera on the tripod - I am usually looking for something particular or shooting a group, so the LCD screen is fine for me in that instance.
    Great review, as usual.
    It is an excellent tripod.

How does this compare to the Ulanzi Colman Zero Y? Which do you prefer?

I know this video is old but I'm in the middle of researching travel tripod for a holiday in Iceland this coming September. And I must type - your videos have been the best. You're straight to the point, editing of your videos is pro level and makes if fun to watch and lastly, you cover the basics of the tripods with the main info and without all the fat. So, thank you for the info and well helping me with what I consider to be a, "good problem." Plus, you're way better on the eyes. HA! ☺

Yes I definitely would try it out. Have you tried putting an ARCA-Swiss gimbal on it and shooting with it? I also noticed that the ball head moves side by side well but does it move forward and backward just as well?

I have been wanting a tripod for awhile, and eyeballed this heavily when it was on Kickstarter but could not afford to buy it at the time. I managed get one off of eBay last week at the Kickstarter Super Early Bird price. I have only taken it out of the box and fiddled around with it so far, but my impression is that it meets if not exceeds my expectations. The main criticism I have is of the quick release mechanism for the plate; I wish it had a more positive feeling lock position, like if it had an audible click to know it is locked in place, or a secondary lock that would prevent the quick release from accidentally being hit/rotated open.

I just bought the DJI Osmo Action 4 to use on the Heipi 3-in-1 I ordered during their KickStart development. Cart before the horse? 🤣 It has proven to be a perfect combo per the tips you describe in this video and several new tips I hadn't figured out yet. Thank you!

Your channel is fabulous. Thank you so much for all the information on the DJI Osmo pocket 3.
I filmed in London on Monday. The low light is truly remarkable .

Great video. Thanks ! This tripod looks very interesting. I have a question: Is it possible to fit a flexshooter pro head after removing the included ballhead?

Would love to watch a comparison against the peak design or alanzi one😮

I like the sub-tripod working as the centre column - I bought the Ulanzi and the. Peak Design tripod and they are both pretty flimsy for the most part... this one does look more stable.

The center column is way more stable on this tripod.

I shoot lots of wildlife.. How would this ballhead work for a 180-600 lens on the Nikon Z8?

I haven’t used that camera/lens combo, so I can’t say for sure. Considering the size and weight of this tripod, I think the ball head is reasonably supportive. But if you need your rig to be rock solid, you may want a heavier tripod.

Looks like it is inspired by the Peak Design travel tripod, but has additional features - very impressive!

thankfully the inspiration didn't carry over to the pricing.

Interesting design, but a bit pricey for a non-professional. Great review, thanks for sharing.

What is didn’t added the standard of HEIPI customer service. Ordered a Tripod on the 9th September 2024 it’s now 20th of September 2024 and I have yet to receive this item. To ad to this I’ve emailed HEIPI seven times not once have I received a response.
No information given on the tracking on any wed site and the Tripod was needed for today for a photo shoot.
It has been wasted time energy and money. What good is a product with customer service this poor. But there’s one point HEIPI has still managed to send a number of emails advertising there new equipment.

😂😂😂. First time on a TH-cam camera channel??
I agree it’s pricey but you get what you pay for. You don’t have to buy it. Amazon have specials. 👍
