    Yehudi Menuhin says something very important I think, he says "working hard is a bad expression". What does it mean to work hard, is it to make an effort? Is it something that I want to achieve, and I am going to work hard to achieve my goal. If I set myself a goal, that means that I already know what it is, and then work to it. That means that my achievement is going to take place in the future, and it takes time to realise it. With time comes fear I might not achieve, struggle and frustration when it fails. That is the relationship between time and thought. Thought, wich arises from memory and experience, is always trying to achieve something in the future. Thinking can only operate within its own field, because nobody has all knowlegde or experience, therefore it's limited and creates conflict. When one understand this proces, not as an idea, but as an actuality, from that understanding arises a different kind of discipline, wich is not routine, repetition, because that implies hard work, but one without effort, without fear, struggle and frustrations. Without a becoming and therefore no direction, not pushing the notes in a particular direction, but open to play with. I think this is important to understand, because thought is a river that never stops, always achieving, and getting pleasure out of the things it achieves, wich is not joy, but competition and strife. Please don't agree or disagree with what is being set, because if you diagree then it stops, but if you agree this might become an idea what thought wants to achieve and then you're caught in the proces of time again. Just observe yourself in daily life without choise to see if it is true or not true, experiment with it. I am not telling anybody what to do, I am just pointing out.

      Amazing. What Yehudi said was simple, short, and made perfect sense.
      What you turned it into is a horrible, copious mess that makes no sense at all.
      Bravo, sir. What a feat. A++ would read again.

    • @yuitsuruta301
      @yuitsuruta301 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tako Lkr After practicing for several years, you’ll get used to it and probably won’t feel pain in your fingers anymore. From experience, I can say that the skin around your fingers will get thicker as you practice, and not feel pain.
      Or maybe you’re putting too much pressure on the strings. When you play the e-string, you don’t need as much pressure (especially at higher positions), because it is the thinnest string out of four.

      持琴方法有两种,一种直接肩膀使用肩垫夹琴一种使用锁骨和左手来持琴,亚洲人普遍肩膀低脖子长,所以一般都使用肩垫夹琴,我觉得如果你对这件事情不了解就别觉得funny 不然谁喜欢把一个肩垫卡琴下。这是没办法的事情。可能Yehudi Menuhin也不了解这件事情。

    • @ZhangOmusiq
      @ZhangOmusiq 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lord Menuhin was right, three years later I changed the way I hold the violin, no shoulder rests, holding the instrument baroque style. Shoulders are totally free. By the way, did you use google translate? I will assume what you wrote made better sense in which ever language you wrote it in.

    • @snickydoodle4744
      @snickydoodle4744 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ZhangOmusiq Here is my own translation of that comment:
      There are two ways of holding a violin, the first type is using a shoulder rest, and the other type is using the collarbone and left hand to support the violin. However, most asians have low shoulder and long neck, hence majority of the violinists use a shoulder rest. I feel that if you don't understand then don't find it funny because who likes a shoulder rest placed under their violin, there is no other choice. Perhaps Yehudi Menuhin did not understand this either.
      My own comment: Who cares if you use a shoulder rest or not? You are just so-called more "old school" if you play with high elbow and without shoulder rest. I play the violin with a shoulder rest. So long you sound nice, it's all great! There are pros and cons in playing in different manners.
