I've always hated Mysterio i always thought of his illusions as cheating but when the comic was released I hated him more than anyone
I'm amazed that Mysterio's illusions managed to fool Wolverines enhanced senses like smell.

That's not Daredevil and The Punisher that were killed by the raptors. It was two people who picked up their legacies. They were Ashley's friends. If you read it again a bit more carefully you'll find it out that it wasn't them. If it was them then they would have bested the raptors quite easily. Besides you already know that if they was still alive they would have been older by another 50 years. Making them close to 80 years old.

I’m so very happy to hear that James is your favorite too. I’ve loved him since I first got one of his comics in 1990. He’s honorable, noble, brash, brutal, and still somehow KIND.
I hate how the world hates him for being popular. He’s a good guy despite his tumultuous life. He died saving a few mutants from having to begin a similar journey to his own.
And damnit he was dead for like 4 freaking years which is like 40 years in “comic book time”. He fights regardless of being able to win. YES HE CAN SURVIVE, but that’s not a reason to hate him.
Because it still hurts to be beaten half to death fighting the hulk, even IF you survive. That’s why he’s my favorite. He’s old and jaded and could just say “FUCK IT ALL”.
Yet he still fights for what’s right.....Brutally.

Have you ever read a Comic book before? This is an alternate story based in the universe that you know. All of the things that could happen or would happen in the main universe don’t matter.
In this alternate timeline cyclops Did hesitate. Jean was eviscerated before she could hold him. Professor X was dead before he knew what could happen. That’s Just what happened. It’s not about what YOU think would happen it’s about what happened As the writers dictated.
You don’t get to decide what happens in the fiction that you read. If you did then you would be the person who wrote the story of old man Logan.

Imo it makes sense that the villains were able to do beat the heroes. Mainly because I find so many villains the heroes have to “put out everything they got.” Like spidey and venom. If he was teamed up on by all his villains or all the villains of one teamed up on DD or the X-men I feel like they could be beaten. Either way it’s an alternate story :)
@@themoofs6925 I know there's one story that has all the villains get together and plan who can fight which hero the most effectively. Then they just slaughter the heros as they weren't expecting them to, you know, use their brains.
I agree, yeah Logan would maybe kill a few Xmen before they knew what was happening but, Logan is only dangerous if you can hit/stab you. Any Xmen with ranged attacks or superstrength beat him

I remember reading this at a Barnes & Noble, after I read that volume, I just sat there and was in shock at what had happened....I remember another person came over and asked how was it...I just sat it down in front of them and said 'I cant explain the horror...you need to read it yourself'

This is definitely my favorite Wolverine/Old Man Logan comic story also. Definitely one of the best stories I've read. Thumbs up.

Shit that was far darker than I remembered. Dude, had the movie been based strictly off this, I think a lot of people would either throw up, cover their own eyes, or cry half of the time. Like damn, that's some brutal shit. And of all people, fucking Marvel Scarecrow did it ! The one and only Mysterio ! Man could really fuck up the world with his illusions and gas...

I really liked this comic book, but even when I read it the mysterious angel always struck me as stupid. Wolverines sense would have been able to detect the illusions, Mysterio is not a mutant or a magician he is a special effects guy who is really damn good. He would leave smells all over the place, wolverine would almost instinctually know who he was fighting.
He's giving a summary of the comic. If you actually read the comic, it clearly states that Mysterio took Logan's heightened sense of smell into consideration, and took the necessary countermeasures to properly deal with that so Logan wouldn't be able to tell he was fighting the xmen.
@@Rojitos I realize he is giving a summary if the comics, and as I started I read the comic. It does not really explain all that we'll how he can take someone with a nose like a bloodhound on steroids and wave that away. Even if he was in some kind of sealed room I don't think it would help but maybe I am overestimating his sense of smell

Hey Michael, I think so too! it also gets better :) Marvel comics is huge and Millar had a n incredible range of things to choose from. Unfortunately, before marvel became so succesful with their Cinematic Universe they sold of allot of their characters to stay afloat. The xmen went to 20th century fox, Blade was bought by New Line cinema, Sony picked up Spiderman and so on... They didnt have a choice but to stick a skeleton xmen roster and change the story to give hugh jackman a great send off.

So.. what and how did The New X-men come about then..? an what happened to the other heroes like Dr Strange, Spiderman, an especially the others you named like the Avengers? an when and how did Hulk who's always been a good guy turn bad? So many questions. Is there a Fall of the Avengers series somewhere? An for all these super villains eventually Powerful good forces have to finally rise up to crush them. Maybe said Ghostrider team finds a reason to be good guys. Or new Avengers rises up.. somebody must've restarted one those groups that came back with avengence.
Robert Agu Yeah. This is an alternate universe. All the other heroes are dead. Thanks to the Red Skull. You'll see what happens next when he uploads it. I won't spoil it. But, this will all tie into Secret Wars 2015 eventually.
Marvelous Beats yeah kinda got that.. Kinda makes one wonder how they corrupted or killed slot of the basically unkillable or wildcard type heroes like Ghostrider and Deadpool who are about as close to immortal as it gets. An still basically being mortal with insane healing factors. I love alternative reality series like this and cross overs. kinda like here or DCs run ins with the Mortal Kombat, Aliens/Predator, Judge Dredd alternate realities. It's like one the few things Marvel lacks in theirs.. you'd think they have a crossover run-in with a Sith or Borg every once in awhile to change things up..
@@robertagu5533 all you got to do is lock Deadpool up in a steel cell and that would took Deadpool out of the equation. And ghost Rider all you got to do to him is seal him up at the bottom of the ocean and he could never escape.

An later on in life when Ghostrider TRULY came into his power after the movies we got.. he was capable of wasting even the most powerful of enemies and armies they had with them, ALONE, if he had too.

I honesty love everything about this video, the first minute makes you know that this new world is a sad, cold & hopeless one...the beginning tune, the first words, “Nobody knows what happened on the nights the heroes fell.” All the heroes that we look up to, Thor, Wolverine, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Quicksilver, Nightcrawler...their all dead & gone...even the legendary Wolverine have been beaten...

I never liked the whole “X villain or superhero kills the marvel/dc universe” but with old man Logan they did it in a way that felt natural and realistic it’s not like when Deadpool killed marvel he had a magic mugufffin sword that killed wolverine. They did stuff like this they tricked Logan into killing everyone he loved because they knew he just by himself would be more than a match for their entire force, where as his loved ones who as stated wouldn’t want to hurt him and would hesitate before attacking him would be killed. Plus the whole thing just screams grim dark and as a huge 40k fan.....I can’t help it....

I truly hate these types of depressing comic book universes. They go against everything that makes a comic book, just for cheap sympathy points, and are hardly ever consistent with the characters motivations and personalities. Wolverine wouldn't break just because he killed someone while controlled, simply because hes been there and done that, many times over. He'd become an angel of death and kill everyone. His whole thing is how he grows and heals from wounds, both physical and mental, and then lashes out like an animal. He might suppress that side of him, but he would never stand by and let the entire world go to shit without a fight. These comic books take away whats already established, take away parts of these characters very being, for basic drama bait thats so cliche and boring its stupid. Look at all these dark universes and how they start, and you'd find that like 90% of them have the main character having a lapse in sense for some reason, hurting someone they love, and then becoming a pacifist as the world burns around them.

I don't read comics that much anymore. Some years back, one of my brothers gave me this book as a gift. When I got to the part where we find out what happened to the X--Men, holy crap! And, not only the X-Men, but Captain America.
