  • For years, hundreds of North Korean fishing boats have been washing up on the shores of Japan with dead fishermen in them. How and why the boats ended up there was a mystery. A NBC News investigation may have the answer: China is sending a previously invisible armada of industrial boats to illegally fish in North Korean waters, violently displacing smaller North Korean boats.

Unless you watched this NBC News report, you would never know that the ChiComs are emptying Korean coastal waters of squid. Seeing those long lines of fishing nets, I could only think of the 1997 Simpsons' episode (Season 8, Episode 21) where Mr. Burns recovers his fortune by emptying out the ocean of all marine life, which he feeds into recycling plant. Mr. Burns then sells the slurry product made from the ground up fish and other ocean life, making himself another fortune. This report shows that the real life Mainland China is at least as amoral as the fictional Mr. Burns.

They think they can just do what they want. I remember that gold mining tv show based on 2 American real estate guys who purchased a plot of land in Africa to mine for gold. The Chinese on the adjacent plot just decided to bulldoze their way in and steal and claim some of the American guys plot. When confronted they just pointed rifles at them, and the annoying thing is that the Chinese knew it was pretty lawless out there so exploited it.

Those aboard the Chinese fleet are trained by the CCP military and they are there fishing like they are doing in South, and Central America and being run off there by the American Navy and Coast Guard and the North and South Korean governments will have to send out patrol boats to watch over their fishing fleet to protect them and their catch.

TL;DR: just google: "Chinese fishing ship", you will see the problems ;)
if historic rights is valid (which is claimed as such by china) indonesia could claimed many many parts of southeast asia waters. including probably half of South China Sea if not more than half, almost all of philippine EEZ, and more.
in that regards, indonesia then probably need to share that "historic rights" area with malaysia as they share that parts of history. search nusantara archipelago (indonesian/malay archipelago)
not gonna argue for this ifs situation as its really just an opinion/thoughts.
btw, outside their (china) "historic rights" area, there's been many case where Chinese fishing ship been spotted. searching this term "Chinese fishing ship" will bring you the recent news and probably numbers too.
and "inside their 'historic rights' area" they probably often accompanied by their coast guard as seen in north natuna sea recently.
Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin response is “As far as I know, Chinese coast guard vessels have been performing normal patrols in the waters under China’s jurisdiction.”. A 2016 international arbitration ruling involving the Philippines invalidated most of China’s sweeping claims in the sea, but China has ignored the ruling and called it a sham.

Boycott Chinese food. (Japanese food is quite a good alternative, and their restaurants have higher hygiene standards too.)

Ghost fleets from Asia are a world wide problem that has been going on for many years it wont last because the stocks of most palatable species will be dwindling in the next few years & its not just Asia over fishing has decimated the resource in all the once productive oceans, we only have ourselves to blame.

Extreme measures have to be done to Chinese fishing boats illegally destroying fishery industry taking everything. They are everywhere all the way to S America and Africa. N Korea should use their nuclear weapons to China.

Another reason why the N Korean boats go further out is because they are not allowed to return to port until they have met their 'quota'. Nearly impossible ot do with the competition of eh Chinese fishing fleet. The narrator of this vid said it is impossible for the N Korean fishermen to 'stay in business'. The N Korean fishermen do not own their boats, the government owns hem and, therefore, they cannot be put out of business. They can, however, be put into the gulags and starved to death. And so they go further with unreliable engines and, when the engines fail, they starve to death....... End of story. A combination of death by the Chinese and aided by the N Korean government...
