I can see how u felt about the police running over that cow.
Absolutely disgusting behavior by that police officer makes u wonder how they ever get into the service. He should be sacked for behavior like that and locked up for animal cruelty.

885 looked in lovely condition for an older cow. It’s a shame she couldn’t get in calf again. It looked like she could’ve easily gone on for a few more years without a struggle x

Unbelievable country we live in.... The government know the identity and whereabouts of every cow and calf in the country..... They have no idea how many immigrants are here or where they are😮... Ridiculous situation.

Richard, I have so much empathy for you when you have spoken out on your vids, often with what I see as genuine frustration and at times has caused you to be upset and angry when people comment and give you advice when they don’t know about farming or of the peculiarities of farming your bit of this wonderful island. However this morning you without knowing all the facts behind the actions of another profession you feel able to comment.

    Hi Richard And Harry
First of its Saturday so welcome to Scotland ( highland show is sold out no tickets for me) have fun and welcome farmer P
On the policeman. That's very poor policing as far as I'm concerned I hope he's made to pay for that cow,and he's at the very least suspended for 6 months without pay and sent back for re training
    Hazza minted on the tag
Had it been me I would have tagged myself,
Enjoy this lovely part of the UK
    Alan

I 💯% agree with you about Staines cow Richard. Offending vehicle looked like the sort our Police use for Rural policing. Makes me think it wasn't just a regular copper. There are suggestions he was just following his Inspectors orders. Heard that before somewhere.

Richard i totaly agree with reguards the police steer ram incident in the past ive worked with cattle sheep pigs, its kind of unbelivable that any one would willingly hurt or treat one of these animals in such a way that it causes any distress what so ever. I strongly belive if you treat an animal with kindness care love it will live a better life be more productive be more aprochable and return some of the love its been given. If was in disbelife when i watched the incident in question 😢😢😢

Good morning Richard and young Harry, Just a thought y don’t you have a neck band for the cattle rather than an ear tag ? Hope you have a good day and take care of yourself and stay safe.🐄🐄⭐️⭐️👍👍.

The rules are clear livestock have to tagged in the ear ( similar to an human ear piercing), it's all about animal traceability which is also linked to animals passport which is produced at birth and stays on farm for the life of the animal.

Do you not have electronic tags ? We have them in New Zealand Same principle as your system they are put in as calves stay in their ears for their life if sold to another farmer are read by a wand and sent electronically to new owner

What I couldn't understand about the policeman video was the animal didn't look wild and wasn't going to be a danger to anyone. He didn't need to do that.

as regards the police ramming that cow/calf........when you talk to people in towns /cities they really do not have a clue about farm animals and farming......and really that was just a example of the ignorance that a large percentage of the population have about farming and animal husbandry

Speaking for myself, I get quite emotional when animals leave the farm, especially beasts that have been with us for a good period of time. Yes, quite disgraceful what happened to that calf, the policeman should be severely reprimanded.

Is there no market for barren cows/ OTM s nowadays ,used to buy hundreds at one time
Aren't ear tags ment to go in the bottom of the ear ??
It should be alright as long as it doesn't get caught on something and gets ripped out

    • @thefunkyfarmer
      @thefunkyfarmer  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

there is but we generally send to the abattoir. We've always put the metal tag in the top, the cartilage is thicker there so it's less likely to pull out
