14-year-old Laura Dekker sets out on a two-year voyage in pursuit of her dream to become the youngest person ever to sail around the world alone.
At 13 years old, I was whining when my parents told me I had to cut the grass. I'm beyond amazed at this incredible young lady.

Although, I think I need to rephrase myself and say, this made me realize how shitty I am at life. My life is fine, I just haven't taken control of it quite like she has with her's. She's an impressive person.

like this story already, a trailer i saw said she was born at sea, everyone knows that states or countries you are born in own you. Being born at sea excludes those state and/or countries ownership where that person cannot be told how to live....freedom

She's very angry with her parents, I know because I go to therapy and I see a lot of myself throug her words and actions. The thing is... she's a true inspiration, she's not a hero for being the youngest persont sailing the whole world, she's a hero because she's amazing. This little woman is so fucking cool!

I don't think she was angry with her parents! Watch her films and talks. If anything, she was motivated by her earlier childhood. She had spent only a year of her life in a house, the rest of the time living aboard.

Not crazy.That word is far too overused . It's generic and bland and meaningless. This young woman was BRAVE and DARING and STRONG willed, not to menition confident and adventurous. If you don't carpe diem, you will grow old and sad, always wishing you had the nerve to move.
