Now I know why the ump called the runner out in the 7th inning. It was a makeup call for the obstruction call in the 2nd. That’s not obstruction.

Indeed. If you watch the replay of both, each time the catcher is taken out of position in an effort to trap-catch the ball being thrown in. Neither was blocking the plate beforehand--thus, no obstruction. In Kinzie's case, there was still room for the runner to reach home if she'd slid to the left of Kinzie. Three bad calls in the game against the Sooners. Glad to see at least one was redeemed. Although, for the most part, the umping during the last few days has been pretty good. Love watching these, so thanks Joe Sooner!!
AND Boone was safe at 2b in the 6th.
Across the board, the umpiring has not been good thus far this year. 3 poor calls in one game is not a good look. Watched several Florida St games. It was bad. Missing calls at 1B consistently by 2 steps. No replay available to correct it.

And why did they use the International Tie Breaker for NCAA Softball?!?
Early in the season, the team is looking pretty good. Swinging at pitches high in the zone, but they will tighten that up. Really like the freshman. Playing well.

@@joesooner they did. They beat her twice in the WCWS, once as a starter and once as a reliever. Those were the only two losses Canady had on the year if I recall correctly. But Kentucky got to her early and she also lost to Florida State yesterday. Admittedly though in that game, the Standard defense was atrocious. She’s fantastic though. It will be an interesting season 😊

They left runners on base for a few of those innings, and it was 35 degrees there so that probably played a factor

All I know is that thier padding thier winning streak with some weak teams, yes they beat a very good Washington team and a very good Duke team I will give them that 👍

The call at the plate most likely was a make up call for the 'obstruction' run. I know if the roles were reversed, we'd be saying she was safe as well. The play at first was a bit more clear. She was our. But agreeable with your comment they both looked suspect

Out of their top 10 hitters last year 7 are still there, they only lost Lee, Lyons and Erickson. And those 7 are on the starting lineup with 2 added freshman which one hit a grandslam already
They weren't offensive juggernauts last year, look I love the sooner girl's best team there is, but in my opinion I don't think thier as powerful as last year, I want them to prove me wrong 😉.
@@jessebaggs3694 I heard an interview the other day and saying no one comes close to having as many homeruns last year as OU did. Like OU is pretty powerful compared to the rest of college softball teams. I mean how many close games did they have last year compared to how many run rules they had.
Seriously terrible job by the umpires, not one but two blown calls in the bottom of the 6th inning. This game felt as rigged as an NFL game... the plays were close but not close enough to get them BOTH wrong

The game wouldn’t have been tied if the ump hadn’t blown the “obstruction” call in the 2nd inning. It’s not even remotely rigged. The umps just suck.
