Good stuff! Looking forward to fishing the backwaters, too. Also, Fleet Farm had their spud bars on sale for $15.00 bucks recently, in case you were in the market😆
If i may make a suggestion i would check out the jiffy ice. Scout instead of a spud bar less. Wear and tear and if. You have a chance to check it out i would it. Goes right in your drill
As always enjoyed your video and picked up a good idea. Question, what do you use to find the structure on the new lakes? Printed maps or electronic? If electronic, what source if your comfortable disclosing? Thank you. TIGHT LINES
There are old maps on the Wisconsin DNR website that offer some information. The maps are very outdated. I will look at lakes on Google maps and Bing maps. In clear lakes like these you can see humps, points and weedbeds. Other than that I just drill and and move and try not hanging out in one area too long. If the shoreline is steep then the lake likely drops off quick there. If the shoreline tapers down gradually to the lake it's probably a shallow shoreline.
Wow angler x struggling wow those lakes must be fished out 😂. You always manage to put a video together. We struggle sometimes. Thanks for the video enjoy watching. Good luck on your next trip out.
These are very small lakes, less than 100 acres. Some just don't have many fish but there is no way to find out other than going fishing. I'm eliminating lakes each time I go up there.
Did you get out over the weekend? I saw a picture of one brave soul fishing without a house on pool 10! We set a weekly snowfall record with 25.5" last week. Luckily, the lake by my house was still steaming Saturday afternoon. The little lake has a hell of time locking up when the winds blow from the W/NW, but once it does, it adds ice at a prodigious rate.
Fished both Saturday and Sunday. Too cold to fish outside so I huddled in the shack both days. Catching was slow both days but managed a few. I had had to look up the meaning of “prodigious”. I learned a new word.
@@AnglerX I didn't fish today but I drilled some quick holes, -40 below wind chill down here. Yeah!!! Ice thickness all over the map. 4-9 inches with the wind sheltered areas being ahead for now.
Did you know that fella with the livescope?..couple of my buddies have 'em, certainly helps you find 'em; but doesn't guarantee that you'll catch 'em..
It's something I've been wanting to do. Only one of the four I fished had a boat launch. That's another cool thing about fishing these backwoods lakes in the winter. You can access parts of the lake that wouldn't be able to during open water, unless you used a kayak or canoe.

I'm planning to repair the one I have but $15 isn't a bad price.
Hoping for safe ice on Thursday. Getting the cold we've been waiting for the last 2 months. Good times.
I hope you're able to get out. Good Luck!
All the ice is gone here in central Wisconsin from the snow got like 1 inch max now
Should be making ice now.
Gotta love the grind! What a cool looking lake too! These temps we have coming up outta finish frosting up all the good spots!
Yep! There should be plenty of options next week.
That’s bass lake is kinda slow in the winter. Much better in the summer. Good smallies too.
That would be fun to tangle with a smallie through the ice!

I’ll look it up. Thank you for the suggestion!

Whats the brand of the blue rod & reel combo that you caught the first big bass on lake 3 ?
Piscifun ICX in line reel on a Radcliffe Custom G3 noodle rod.

Yes, that’s my good friend Jesse. The livescope shortens the time and effort it takes to find fish. And you’re right…they still need to bite
@AnglerX , I use my good 'ole vexilar, unless it's really shallow, or I'll use my aqua view to see what's going on down there!..
