I grew up an Irish Pine Marten myself, same as my parents. I've watched a lot of videos about Irish Pine Martens on TH-cam, but none captures the essence of my youth quite like this one. I applaud the realism. A lot of these videos, using the same stock footage we've all seen a million times.... you wonder if the presenter has even met a Pine Marten, let alone an Irish Pine Marten, like myself. Bravo PBS for real journalism, this is why we need to support public funding of the arts.
You beat me to it 👏 Are you ginger?
I didn’t know Pine Martens had access to the internet! Let alone were able to use it 😮
@@jorn979 Ever crack a book? Pine Martens, including Irish Pine Martens, like myself, helped build the predecessor to the internet in the 1960s. It was called DARPAnet.
Scientific names of all nine extant marten species:
1) Martes (Martes) martes - European Pine Marten
2) Martes (Martes) foina - Beech Marten
3) Martes (Crocutictis) zibellina - Asiatic Pine Marten/Sable
4) Martes (Crocutictis) melampus - Japanese Marten
5) Martes (Alopecogale) americana - American Pine Marten
6) Martes (Alopecogale) caurina - Pacific Marten
7) Charronia gwatkinsii - Nilgiri Marten/Kalelomri
8) Charronia flavigula - Yellow-Throated Marten/Kharza
9) Pekania pennanti - Short-Faced Marten/Fisher
Neat! Ty

These few weeks of play and pleasure will never happen again..
The ending was a bit sad.

😍😍😍👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾СУПЕР, СПАСИБО
I don't think they are great at swimming
Wish they would stay in a tree house. I have big mamma and her kittens in my attic in my home in slieve blooms. She makes a big mess with pooh and sooner she moves out the better.
We have a problem with raccoons. They’re so cute and so annoying.
Wonderful thank you💚
tuyệt vời
Pan!
Is this like a ferret?
Yes, they're both mustelids.
They're related, along with minks and weasels, and further, to bigger mustelids like otters, badgers, skunks, even wolverines.
@@marymactavish all of the above are so cute and I’m so allergic.
Please leave the Irish Prime Minister out of your silly story.
