    I decided to build my own mini NAS using unraid for the management software. I have 30TB of storage and I'm using Owncloud as my "cloud " alongside with syncthing (to pull my data from google drive.

    If only Dropbox didn't cave to Apple and block us from using external drives on Apple machines with their service. I've been using Dropbox for years and now am looking for another sync solution.

      what do you mean? how do they block you from using external drives? I'm considering switching back to Dropbox after 10 years on GSuite

      @@likebliss Apple forces all cloud services to sync all files in a particular folder. So you cant choose where you can keep your main dropbox folder. So, for those who had it on removable storage now cant do that anymore.

    Great video but:
    04:05 not true. I get a similar problem like Google Drive when I upload more than a video ( in this case Pcloud is responses much faster than both of them) . And Google Drive is also much faster than OneDrive ( at least for me in Germany )

    I'm not sure how much Box has changed since you looked at it, but it as a video production company it is the storage company I'm switching too.
    Unlimited storage and files up to 50gb.

    Mind boggling recommending onedrive, especially on a mac. It's the most buggy piece of shite, slow to upload, always has errors and chews up resources. Heaps of people have reported the same issues. It's the WORST, by far.

    honestly something i dont get with all those cloud storage comparison videos is why noone mentions cryptomator. Literally all the security concerns of cheap and big company storage solutions like google drive or one drive disappear if you simply encrypt your data yourself before uploading them, yes google can see your stuff...but its all encrypted now so they cant really see it. that way it basicly doesnt matter at all wich provider you chose and you can just pick whatever and its way cheaper than paying for ''secure storage solutions'' OR you could get a 5TB Nextcloud storage from hetzner for 5 bucks a month, and basicly own your own cloud that way

    Ha, sounds like you're not a big Sync fan 😀 I have to disagree with the reasoning though. Yes, the user interface is more bare-bones, but if you're a freelancer storing customer data, or you don't want the other service providers accessing your data (like Google, Dropbox, OneDrive, etc. does) then Sync is the better choice. Plus they do have a beta version for download-on-demand files, but otherwise, all files are automatically stored both on the computer and in the cloud.

    • @Craylor

      I haven't tested pCloud before. The lifetime business model is interesting, though that's a big investment to make up front for a service that may go downhill over time.

    • @Krishnendulaha
      @Krishnendulaha ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been using pCloud for 1.5 years now... first used the free account for 6 months or so and then bought the 2 TB premium 1.5 years ago on Black Friday sale. So far, my experience has been quite good. Though sometimes their servers get slow and such, but those issues were something I used to face more at the beginning and now it has been more or less fixed. And come on even tech giants like Google or MS or Apple have downtimes.... just a few days ago Apple Mail was completely down for hours...

    I'm using pcloud, the free plan, not really need a huge storage as of now, I just like how they handle the storage by adding a partition instead of folders in my PC & laptop..
    I don't need to logout if one of my colleagues borrow my laptop, just unmount it~

    I just need under 100GB for very little money. So Google Drive still is the best contender. It may not have a good interface but I don't need to share with anyone so it still works for me.
