Oh wow, that swift and ball winder combination would be a godsend. sometimes I put my yarn around my feet and wind it. LOL, ok, not a very good way, but when you're here by yourself..........Thanks for showing us these items!
Ooooo....Thanks for sharing. I already have a winder and swift but I LOVE the peg idea on the yarn bowl/box! I have a small wood yarn bowl with a swirl opening but my yarn often wiggles out of it.
Gorgeous! That ball winder is to-die-for! Swift looks great too, but so far I've been happy with my Amish swift. (NOT that I would turn up my nose at this one if I were to get it for Christmas!) 😁. I always use some pretty colored small casserole bowls for my yarn... Dual-purpose! :)
Great Information! I've seen the winder before, it's a well mastered design, but, unfortunately the one I saw was a little bit pricey for me but I do think that it's the best one that anyone could get! The smoothest, quietist ball winder by far! Thanks for Sharing!
I saw on Ravelry a comment from a gal who had switched from a plastic ball winder to the Fiber Artist Supply Co. wooden winder (similar design to Knitter's Pride, but no clamp), and she said the handle position on the wooden ball winder caused her far less hand and wrist fatigue than that of almost all plastic yarn winders.
It's about time a swift has smooth, non-snaggy parts. What I'd like to know is how it attaches to the table. All my tables have shallow edges and I have to keep readjusting my current swift.
I have the ball winder and swift attached to my desk here at home now...it is a thin desktop, and easy to attach. But at the studio when we filmed this video, the tabletop was thicker and very shallow - I'd say only about 1.5" deep. You can see that the clamps for both the ball winder and swift fit fine.
Got a Knitter’s Pride ball winder 2nd hand (looked new in the box :)! and am having trouble with the dowel in the middle- it doesn’t touch the little cone piece so it’s not winding. Is there something the check to see if I can fix this?
Hi! Thank you for the reviews and those bowls are super neat! Question- How does this winder and swift compare to the Strauch Jumbo Ball Winder and swift? Thank you.
Oh my ... I'm drooling! (figuratively) It would be awesome to see some of these things in a giveaway. Probably too expensive I'll bet. Those are some beautiful tools!!!
Yes - it's important to clamp both the ball winder and swift to a table (or countertop or desk). The clamps are very easy to work, strong hands are not required. I'm very happy with these products! I can tell you honestly - my job is knitting, and I have a few ball winders and swifts to choose from. These are the products I'm using now. I'm impressed with the ease of movement, and how my finished yarn cakes are not tight, which can stretch the yarn. I'm very careful about the products I promote, and I'm really happy with these products, and the prices.
VeryPink Knits thanks! I mean it’s clear you enjoy them. I was just curious if you wanted to say how they compare to others. I like comparisons because they help me decide but it’s clear these really work for you.
VeryPink Knits less about strength for me than that all my tables are glass so it would be great to have move options of things that didn’t need to be clamped down. But that might be to specific a problem.
I have questions for you. How do you use Handcrafted Wooden Knitting Needles: Binocular Design, Suitable for Beginners, Multi-Purpose Crochet Hooks, Weaving Tools for Braiding Because can’t seem to find information about it. I choose you
Strauch no longer makes the swift that I'm familiar with, but to compare this with the Strauch equipment I've used in the past - the Knitter's Pride ball winder and swift is a lower price point, lighter weight, and highly-polished and smooth. The Knitter's Pride products also require less hand strength to tighten the clamps to a table. Both companies make very nice, high-quality products, for sure.
I used to pull cakes from the middle but then they all collapse on themselves and i end up making a ball out of them... so i NEED this yarn dispenser!! And the bowl. My wallet is already protesting.
My yarn keeps ending up lopsided and wound around the bottom of the cone! I’ve kept tension on the yarn, followed instructions but it still keeps doing it. I need a how to for dummies 😫
me too!!! The one in my local yarn store didn't do the lopsided bit but mine does. I hold the tension but it starts a cake at the top and then it drops and continues it below, so when i go to use the ball, I have a small bit that comes out and then tangles. The yarn shop doesn't know what I am doing wrong. I am not doing anything wrong!!
Hi I bought a swifter and ball winder and am having problems. After getting my cake it always falls a part from the center. I have tried winding tighter and looser and they do the same. Makes knitting a problem, stopping to untangle the mess. I was wondering if you could offer some advise. Sincerely, Terri
I've experienced this same thing. Some ball winders are like that, especially with slippery yarns. I'm afraid I don't have advice for making it work...I just got a new ball winder and had an easier time!
Rica The Hopeful Voluntarist Haha... Yes. But doesn't every knitter need a room like that, if at all possible? 😁. Heck, I'd settle for a nice shed if we didn't have a small spare room that I've taken over. 😎
I have a question, I have K.P. Kabonz DPN's and the tips and shaft aren't joined properly, my yarn snags between the tip and shaft on 2 of the DPN's, is that a manufacturer flaw? Happy Knitting from Canada 🇨🇦 ❤️Marie
I've never had that problem with Karbonz needles - I recommend contacting Knitter's Pride directly with this question. A good way to reach them is via Facebook message.
Wow, these are beautiful tools! it's hard to choose a favorite - all look like future heirlooms! and you've really piqued my interest in Knitter's Price - I didn't really know much about them other than they were available thru WEBS.
No - they are all still available, still new products! I have links to where you can buy them on WEBS in the video description field, just below the video.
My lawd those products are gorgeous!!!! Yarn boxes and yarn bowls with a peg!!!! My aunt is a sculptress and I will have her teach me to carve some.
I am a beginner knitter, so this was wonderful to watch. Thank you.

Wow what wonderful product. I love the painted Swift, I NEED a new ball winder and I want the Lazy Susan. Thank you for the review.
I have a yarn ball winder and am completely addicted to it! Super fun and quick! Connect all my scraps together for scarfs and afghans later.
The ball winder and a swift are on my Christmas list. Have to let me husband know about these from Knitter's Pride.
OH wow!! Nice accessories!! I work a lot with crochet thread-I bet that lazy Susan item would be a great item to have.

Now i finaly know what that contraption is for!! 😆 have seen a couple. Thanks for sharing!
I am surprised at how quiet the ball winder is. I would love all of these, especially the swift and winder. I don't have a swift.
Beautifully done wood items!! I love how the set works together!!
I just got mine in day before yesterday. I love my yarn winder!
Thanks for highlighting these beautiful tools!

I love the peg!
Using a barrette / hair pin / etc to secure the outside strand works great btw.
The child hair clips at Dollar Tree are great for securing the outside yarn end on wound cakes. Think they're still 10 for a dollar.
Beautiful accessories
Wow! They're gorgeous! I have a plastic yarn swift and I would love to get this one for christmas! :D
I LOVE your videos. I have learned so much from you, Thank you. Love Knitters Pride products.
Just love those!
my cats would love that lol good video

They look so nice 😍
I don’t know if I could get the yarn started right on the Swift. I love yarn bowls. I have a couple of them...somewhere.

I assume you could use a swift with an electric winder? I have an electric winder I love or would I specifically need a hand winder?
Thank you for sharing! I will look into getting one.
This was a lovely video! I think I love the gadgets as much as I love yarn... well almost lol !
Got a Knitter’s Pride ball winder 2nd hand (looked new in the box :)! and am having trouble with the dowel in the middle- it doesn’t touch the little cone piece so it’s not winding. Is there something the check to see if I can fix this?
Wow, I’m super jealous, those would have to be put in my knitting/yarn room, I wouldn’t be mad at that idea! Those bowls get me super excited!
Hi! Thank you for the reviews and those bowls are super neat! Question- How does this winder and swift compare to the Strauch Jumbo Ball Winder and swift? Thank you.

Don't you worry, darlin' - I have giveaways coming up!
Woo Hoo! A chance to win something incredible that I could never afford. THANK YOU!!!!
I have a winder and a swift and they are very nice to have

Love knitters pride

Boy this would be a great give away !
I have giveaways on most of this stuff coming soon! :)
1- does the ball winder have NEED to be clamped. 2- how does this compare to other brands?

Why are there extra holes in the base of the yarn winder??
I have questions for you. How do you use

How does this compare to the umbrella swift and ball winder by the Strauch Fiber Equipment Company....i'd really like to know!!!

You need a whole room committed to knitting/crocheting for all those nifty gadgets. They're pretty groovy, though!
Rica The Hopeful Voluntarist Haha... Yes. But doesn't every knitter need a room like that, if at all possible? 😁. Heck, I'd settle for a nice shed if we didn't have a small spare room that I've taken over. 😎
I really like the yarn bowl x The peg makes it doubly TtrXrive.

I bought these and it made a complete mess of two expensive hangs that took me hours to untangle! I returned them.
Still learning terms…
After wasting time & money on the cheap ass winders, I've returned it to Amazon and am buying the wooden yarn contraption...
