Thanks for this terrific walk-through of a fairly complicated app! I’ve been watching Elevate videos for two hours now and this is by far the best. Great job!
I couldn't believe something like this actually exists when I found out about it today and now I can't believe that everyone is not using it. It's so good ! Thanks for the explanation, very helpful.
The only one on TH-cam who really understands this plugin. Great job!! (your track seems a little loud compared to your voice BTW - had to keep turning it up and down)
Brilliant video! I own this plug and after watching this I realize how much more I can do with it. Thorough deep dive you took on this. I’m gonna check out more of your videos!
Really glad that you like it. Believe me I was in the same boat as you, I only realised quite how useful it is when I started spending a lot of time with it before making the video :)
Great video. Can you please explain how to read the gain reduction (spread waveform) meter at the top at 33:33? It has low band and high band, but it's moving horizontal. It's not clear from reading the manual either.
Great clip dude thank you. Subscribed. I’ve been using this plugin since release but learnt some new bits. Your videos are like reading the manual but with a human voice and audio examples. I’m trying to keep this plugin quiet though. It’s my secret weapon as a mastering engineer haha. Don’t want my clients catching on. Shhhhh
Thank you. You have a great sound! I'm close to finishing a book on mixing, but It seems I need some more knowledge on mastering. Signal chains, maybe different examples for various outcomes. What to use and what to avoid. How to get that pro sound I'm looking to achieve in the future. Since you said you would like to hear suggestions for an upcoming video, I'd like to request just that. I would appreciate your take on things and your process in general. Thanks again. Keep it up! Oh, and one more thing: Should I buy the Elevate Bundle for mastering of my first production? It's on sale right now. :)
I really like EQuivocate and Elevate, so I would buy it. That being said I also use some other limiters too, dependant on the project. In regards to the mastering signal chains, I can do a video on that. Watch this space!
Something curious about this plugin placed on the master channel is that when you leave the limit gain at zero db and raise the volume attacking from a bus exceeding the digital zero, it squashes the low end less. I think it has to do with the dynamic range that Pro Tools 12 offers. Greetings!
What is it? It's a cpu and latency monster. Sometimes elevate changes the aimed color of a mix too much. You can get great results with elevate, e.g. with Sonnox the low end gets too squeezed, wheras Elevator kinda uncompresses too much compressed parts, what can also be bad, but you can tweak. Most presets make vocals to prominent all of a sudden, it's like they are unglued from the mix, that's strange. Cpu is very high and I miss a multiband compressor in a mastering bundle. Great video!
I master my own songs. I mostly rely on a handful of plugins. Ozone 9 Advanced, with its multiple modules, from Izotope, which also has Tonal Balance Control, the latter of which is used to see where I might be either too high or too low in some Freq ranges. If so, I use a WAVES 8 or 10 band EQ, but mostly only 8 bands, and I use a terrific Ian Shepherd' 8-band Template, which I use to correct those isolated Freq's from TBC. I use the WAVES WLM Plus 5.0 Loudness Meter and set it at -18 LUFS, with a peak at -1. 0, the setting above this one. I also use the ADPTR Metric A/B, which also has a number of other very cool modules built-in, and can also import 15 or 16 Reference Tracks, a phenom plugin. I also sometimes use the Black Box Analog Design HG-2 plugin, for some harmonics and saturation, for added color, and when you click it IN, you will hear an immediate and distinct "added fullness", another very cool plugin through Plugin Alliance. Have a Good one!
Hi, I'm having trouble seeing the entire plugin in pro tools. I get cut off at the bottom. Lower. Could you tell me why this happens. I appreciate an answer. Greetings and thanks.
Oh weird, that has never happened to me. Have you tried contacting customer support? It might be a screen resolution issue though, try going into the display settings on your OS and see if upping that helps.
Nice and clear run through of function and capabilities, been my go to since it’s launch, there quite simply no plugin or chain of plugins that can do what this can, feels a bit like cheating sometimes, regular question from clients is “how the f#%* did you do that?” 😎😎😎😎😎 Watch out that you don’t get carried away with it though.....
I don't like how the monaural vocals are dim/dark in the stereo mix. There needs to be some intrusive EQing preprocessing on the mastering chain like Weiss EQ1 and/or Chandler Limited Fender Bender Master EQ on it. Then Elevate can handle this song like a G!
sad i can't watch til the end, this homosexual music get way too much on my nerves and it repeat and repeat. sad because tutorial look really cool, great job for that tho.

Best explanation of this limiter I've seen. Great job! Very helpful and clarified a few things for me.
Thank you! Let me know if there is anything else you are interested in which you would want to be featured.

Great video. Interesting/strange mix..drums mainly in left channel.

Hi, just a quick question. Is it just a limiter or could this plugin be used for the entire mastering process?

Watch out that you don’t get carried away with it though.....
The basic recording- low frequencies are lacking for bass guitar. Kick not bad. Just listened to another elevate walk-thru that had a lot more bass.
Great Job

Would have been useful to zoom in on the plugin as almost impossible to see whats going on.
Noted!
terrible music

What a weird inappropriate comment!
why would gayness be an insult?
