Python is composed by Bambam this time :) He made it 2 years ago without thinking whether this should be his own or GOT7's and felt it matches with GOT7 a lot. The album is full of new sounds that GOT7 as a group never did but closer to each members' solo styles. That is super refreshing and as fans it's so exciting to still hear new sounds from the boys after 11 years and they are not just winging this album. Even with the parts in Python, bambam > yugyeom > youngjae in the chorus is like never been done plus Jinyoung's little rap too? This all feels so new and refreshing! They all had improved so much and much more relaxed and content. JayB told each member what kind of songs/genres they should bring to this album and the members each contributed one (or two) songs. Python - Bambam, Smooth - Jackson, Our Youth - Youngjae (under the name Ars), Remember - Yugyeom, Darling - JayB (under the name Def), Tidal Wave - Bambam, Out The Door - Mark, Her - Jinyoung, Yours Truly - JayB (Def) with GOT7 contributed to lyrics together. JayB and Yugyeom really have amazing R&B/House albums. Especially both of their latest releases are just soooo good. The entire ALBUM! Youngjae's albums are also very bright and airy. I have always loved Youngjae's songs especially when he writes for GOT7. A lot of my favorite GOT7 songs are all composed by him. Jinyoung's singing and vocals in this album also shines so much as much (he jokes he's been practicing in the karaoke near the military lol). BTW - Jinyoung's drama The Witch (Kang Full's webtoon like Moving and Light Shop) is coming out on Feb 15!!!!!
It’s a tough competition but You Calling My Name takes the cake in my opinion because it’s has a bridge and an amazing last chorus. Really love Python and it’s perfect for looping over and over again but man I do love last choruses🥲

This one wasn't as dramatic as that, but it gave the same vibe, for me. As their COMEBACK comeback song, I think that was a clever choice. Leave us wanting, in the lead up to them giving us more music. Like they're saying "I know I'm an icon, bet you want more"
Im so glad they chose Python honestly. Theyve been trying to showcase themselves with an R&B focus for years, especially on their most loved b-sides. But their JYP title tracks always pulled them back towards mostly pop and it feels like their new music plays up to what they have grown into as their own personal strengths, verses what they were being told they should be. Their new music, the full album, feels like it takes all the positives they had in their old music and builds on it. The maturity I heard in the new songs at the concert... Im just obsessed with where theyre going. And willing to wait for eternity for the next.
imo this song is all about their k-pop/music/group career; they're constantly talking about a "she" but I personally see it as some reference to how, even though it was a harsh and painful to grow in that industry, they can't let go of it entirely and always end up deciding to give it another chance. I really enjoyed this comeback and I hope to hear more of them soon

The 7 sign they dance during the "I know I'm an icon" is GOT7's group sign! It was first the JJ project's(JayB and Jinyoung) sign when they debuted which was turned upside down when GOT7 debuted!!
so I just made the connection for the first time btw the fact that python is bambam's song and how the music video portrays GOT7 as these super stars. I see it as first we have them doing their solo work - jaebum on the MV set - jackson having a drink on his own (I believe he has talked about struggling with alcohol and loneliness before) - jinyoung moving forward on a treadmill and singing about having to run a marathon - bambam's dancing reflected in mirrors as in dance practice - yugyeom's backlit dance and being in the dark in front as if on stage and backstage - mark entering a plane and his set that looks like the earth from above, and literally holding marathon receipts (he is CEO of his own company now, so finance must be a thing he is involved in now) until they fittingly break out/reunite out of a plane (since they need to fly to korea to gather, also reminded me of never ever/fly era), travel montage, them running arm in arm through space/time to end up on a brightly lit play ground, dancing and singing together and having fun. It all becomes bittersweet in the end when we are getting dragged out of this dream like sequence in the snow ball trying to hold on, only to end up back on planes with camera lights flashing through the windows. it makes me think of bambam having a hard time last year, when he made those concerning posts and how he's stepped back a bit ever since and seems to be trying find more balance btw work and private life. especially him writing the show must go on on the mirror. I am glad he has GOT7 and us too
Yeah I agree but I kinda thought mark was kinda like him on a limousine as u said but constant travelling with world tours and stuff like that. The makeup as well is really simple and shows got7 like really themselves like raw kinda way, some of the makeup not to say it's bad or anything but it makes them look a little tired, which considerate of their crazy schedules mark had that one scene at the beginning looking through a telescope and I remember that as a person/celeb gets more famous the magnifying glass or telescope gets more larger, so harder to keep privacy. I also think that when they were breaking out of the limousine, it was like breaking out of the safety of jyp (even though they had their own sets of problems in their company) and going into the wider world which is like a storm and then they go into the tube which I don't know what it was but it was like breaking free, but still staying together being happy, and then when the storm settles they are comfortable in their own shoes which is the last chorus (in the playground setting). The last scene with bambam could be the concerning post that you mentioned, and he realises he needed his team members and didn't want to loss them in the dreamlike state like jayb stated and then theirs a brief shot of a snow globe which could mean that they want to live in that moment but being a celebrity makes it hard for them which is why bambam is seen waking but from the dream before waking up from his dream state and turning back to his job as an idol. The first shot of them in a circle is like the one in the beginning of YCMN mv, same for the glass shatering, the plane is a reference to Hard Carry's mv and their Flight vlog albums, the plan at the beginning on JB's eye is the same as the one in Lullaby's MV, the scenes in the playground are probably a reference to their song Playground....The whole MV is like a fever dream ( the fog, the lightning...) , when they get out of the limo, and go through that white tunnel to join the playgroung , they go from being serious in suits to casual clothes and laughing, it feels kind of nostalgic, they get to be youthful and playful again, like in their rookie days...but at the end Bam wakes up, to paparazzis flashlights and fans screaming..I'm not sure but for me it's Got7 being nostalgic of their rookie days, when they were hanging out together and having fun, maybe the nostalgy of their youth too, they all have solo careers now and responsabilities so maybe that fever dream is missing their innocence and playfulness, or it just symbolizes Got7 reunion, before having to go their separate ways for their own projects.
Finally. I swear it was just yesterday you were watching "Teenager" asking who everyone was. 😊 Re: video, think given the members honesty abt idol life, it's hard not to read the song as bit of love/hate letter to this industry. There's glamor, but also darkness, even resignation (Bam writing "Show Must Go On") in their solo moments, in contrast to running back to their "snowball" dreamy playground of the group. Also the callbacks to previous vids def making Ahgase happy.

They've been absolutely killing it at music shows with no playback vocals, powerful and relaxed confidence and stage presence, and most of all GOT7 have always excelled at utilizing each members strentghs and styles in their album choices.

I'm so glad you liked python! I am absolutely addicted to that first prechorus and the way it was shot, and bambam completely took over my brain right after. I absolutely love the vibe they have this comeback, both in the mv and in the content they've been doing. A lot of boygroups from 3rd gen is coming back after military and a lot has change on stan culture, especially in the worldwide perspective of it so new stans and reactor doesn't understand the meaning of this comeback. So is refreshing and comforting at the same time see a reaction of someone who UNDERSTAND the industry and doesn't know from what it is now. God i really agree with what u said about mark like their old comp really branding him to be like quiet mysterious visual while yet irl he is super cheerful act like a maknae sometimes, also with Out The Door which the song he produced he smashing with that, broke down his own self and bloom in this album. Check out Jinyoungs album that came out in January 2023. He released it before he did his military service. They were waiting for his discharge before finishing Winter Heptagon. Spoilers had started coming out in Sept/Oct and Jinyoung spoiled it totally at his discharge ceremony. Python is #1 on my Got7 playlist. The whole album is their best.

I'm so glad you liked python! I am absolutely addicted to that first prechorus and the way it was shot, and bambam completely took over my brain right after. I absolutely love the vibe they have this comeback, both in the mv and in the content they've been doing.
I highly, highly recommend listening to their killing voice - it clearly shows the difference in their maturity and vibes, especially how confident and comfortable they feel with themselves and each other.

I was waiting for you reaction so so so so much. A lot of boygroups from 3rd gen is coming back after military and a lot has change on stan culture, especially in the worldwide perspective of it so new stans and reactor doesn't understand the meaning of this comeback.
So is refreshing and comforting at the same time see a reaction of someone who UNDERSTAND the industry and doesn't know from what it is now.

God i really agree with what u said about mark like their old comp really branding him to be like quiet mysterious visual while yet irl he is super cheerful act like a maknae sometimes, also with Out The Door which the song he produced he smashing with that, broke down his own self and bloom in this album. I am so glad that everyone could had a chance to go solo and explore their music and now their comeback and bring their new color to the album and create a new color for GOT7, i am so proud of my GOT7 so much!!

Bambam’s BAMESIS is amazing which I really love his album as well, and I’m confident that he creates great music for GOT7 (although some people underestimate/underrate him no matter what reason, but I see his amazing potential) As a producer, he has a unique talent and skills for selecting the right person for each part, like choosing Seulgi for his track.
All the songs in the album are SO SO SO GREAT. I don't have rank for them, I love them all. My personal habit = I don't have to choose or rank everything in my life, it's good and I like them, that's all matter. No skip album again. GOT7 never fails me 😊.

Check out Jinyoungs album that came out in January 2023. He released it before he did his military service. They were waiting for his discharge before finishing Winter Heptagon. Spoilers had started coming out in Sept/Oct and Jinyoung spoiled it totally at his discharge ceremony. Python is #1 on my Got7 playlist. The whole album is their best.
