I had an hour after work until I needed to do some stuff around the house, and that hour was between watching pron and this podcast. Wnaking to Lewis was weird but it got the job done in the end.
Memoirs of a White Guy isn't the best name for a podcast at the moment, but I don't think the SS Podcast is much better.

Good job Lew, tough situation that the world find themselves in with their respective issues as you raised Australia and indigenous community, and the more prominent focus that is occurring in the US.
You saying that there should be more discussion and less hate is absolutely correct no matter what side of the fence people find themselves on they should always leave room for discussion.
Hopefully positive actions come out of the discussions that are held, otherwise as you mentioned this is only the beginning of the chaos that has erupted.

this is probably the most intelligent podcast lewis has done. as an american who pretty much despises the police i almost completely agree with you, the police shouldn't be abolished they should be reformed. there shouldn't be millions of citizens that are scared of the police, the police are meant to protect people not scare them.
The national guard is probably just better trained than the police, that's why they handle it better.

Hey Lewis, I've been listening since episode 1 and haven't missed an episode... Not sure if I should be proud of that?
Anyway, I had a question regarding your perspective on Donald Trump, since you'd mentioned you're open to discussion with the topics in this episode. I understand your point about how the 'wildcard' needed to shake up the system could have been worse, and that many people would have voted Trump out of desperation and frustration living in a system that doesn't work for them. What I wanted to know though is why Trump's threats of violence against American citizens was what made him finally 'lose you'? From what I understand you're definitely not the oversimplified "orange man bad" type, but surely things like his complete disregard for the scale of climate change, numerous sexual assault allegations and transgressions against the LGBTQ community (trans people in particular) would have altered your perspective?
Perhaps an oddly serious question for Spearhead Sundays, just wanted to hear your thoughts. Looking forward to an especially fucked episode next week 😅

Heya Lewis! I just wanted to iterate a great argument/solution from Andrew Schulz, he said it on his most recent Joe Rogan podcast and his personal one.
The police (in America) should have increased funding, but also increased training, and a higher standard to be hired. Then, their paradigm should shift from protecting police lives to protecting everyone else. Yes, the risk of harm is higher, but the pay and the training should reflect that. No more 'fearing for your life' when it's the profession you've chosen.
Anyways, thank you for an outside perspective on 'Murica
