That's kinda what happens in TCG games when meta is already established. Most F2P players will try to build one of the best meta decks since they can't make a lot of decks at the start so they want to at least have a good chance at winning.

After playing more with the meowth version, that first mewtwo player tried every single way he could to throw that game
That mewtwo should have been on the bench with 2 energy and he should have been swinging with gardi

It seems like 80% of the decks I play against are mewtwo. 15% pika and the rest a combo of articuno and Charizard decks. It gets pretty repetitive
