Great job as usual. Definitely would love to see you do their first album, Schlagenheim, as well as Black Country, New Road’s first album. Both bands were still basically teens when those albums were recorded.
You made me fall back in love this this album. This is definitely my favorite black midi album and so blessed to have it on vinyl! I love your channel so much never stop being Mr. Consistent 🤝
Another fine day everyone! So anyways, let me tell you this quick little story about the royal procession that happening Farthinghoe last weekend. The procession was dedicated to the new king of the town, the king Perry III. There were a whole lot of people not only observing, but also participating. One of those participators was me. I decided to muster up my musical skills and play my *black midi* keyboard that i bought from a Sainsbury's last weekend. It was quite incredible. I was capable of playing a WHOLE C Chord! I was so proud of myself. After a bunch of doodling around, the *cavalcade* ended. It was another fun day! Sending best wishes to not only Mr. Consistent, but to everyone reading this! Cheers from Farthinghoe!
Love the reaction! Always keeping up the great content. I have a great album for any future upload. Leaves Turn Inside You by Unwound. Earlier work is more noisy/punk, but this takes the cake going out with their peak. RIP Vern.
Awesome album. I ultimately think black midi's lyics are closer to surrealist free-association than they are to anything having a concrete, determinate meaning, so we're all with you when it comes to Geordie Greep's bizarrely cryptic, hyperliterate lyrics. There are some things that could help you get a few more bits and pieces, like knowing that "ascending fourths" is a compositional technique, it's going up from the key chord to the chord 4 whole notes above the key chord. So like, changing chords from a G to a C. Like a few tracks on the album, the song features an experienced artist slaving away to create something relatively pedestrian - ascending fourths. Markus faced imprisonment over what I imagine is his distasteful art and ultimately wasted his time and effort.
Good stuff once again mate! If you wants to try some Aussie stuff, Press Club has an amazing energy and drive in all their albums, particularly Late Teens and Endless Motion. Otherwise, if you’re looking for more classic but very Aussie rock Powderfinger or the Smith Street Band are solid
I know this is a black midi video, but you should check out more "death's dynamic shroud" stuff, their last 3 albums are absolute madness too. Aside from that, great reaction man, glad you are liking black midi's albums.
im running out of funny things to write here, so i'll just flat out say that it would be nice if you gave the album 'ma hill' by incredible polo a listen, its such an amazing album.
