Love, love, LOVE this!!! I just shared this TH-cam on FB and hope that my friends will check out these kits. I love the learning component and the idea of continuing to teach those timeless skills like stitching. My mother is a master cross-stitch artist and always was so good at crafts that I didn't think there was any point to doing it myself, which was silly really. As a performing musician/university professor in classical music performance, I really didn't take the time to craft. Then I was disabled in a car accident, and now card-making is my creative/artistic outlet. I hesitate to use the term "artistic", because I am definitely not artistic in the art sense at all! But I have such a wonderful sense of well-being after I've made a card, and now have a gallery on Splitcoaststampers (the largest card-making site, anyone can have a gallery there, mine is small and under 905lovestostamp), and hope to someday start a blog. Clearly if I can craft and enjoy it and create something I am proud of (I see the flaws but I also see how I am improving and try not to be perfectionistic), and something that makes the card recipient feel special, then I am happy.
I think these kits will be AWESOME!!! I don't have children alas, but I am blessed to have friends with children and grandchildren, and I can see buying these kits as birthday gifts, etc. If they had kits that were for boys, I'd have loved to have used those too for my nephew, now he's 13 and playing football, but he has a great artistic side too that I want to encourage.
Well-done Jennifer Garner!!! I don't know a lot about her except I loved watching "Alias", I'm not someone who gets into the life of "stars", I just hope they can live their lives without too much interfering from the paparazzi to enjoy their family... But I love her concept of these kits and clearly she's a great Mom and a lovely lady. So nice to give some proceeds to "Save The Children" too, nice!
I look forward to seeing these in Joann the next time I am there--I live in Canada, but close enough to the border to be able to go across and do some crafts shopping. Joann is my all-time favorite big crafting store, no question--I love to shop online at Joann.com as well as in the store, no one does it better than Joann for papercrafting, I use rubber stamps (since I cannot draw :) ) for my cards, and am totally obsessed with this craft. I guess there could be worse obsessions, watching craft TH-cam tutorials on how to improve my cards! :)
