Liked and Subscribed! So stoked on everything you guys are doing. Been a minute since I’ve skated, but still so ingrained in the culture and find these interviews so nostalgic. Would love to see an interview with the homie Grant Patterson.
As Shane, Hadn't done an interview before now they would have talked beforehand about what topics would and wouldn't be covered. He had a lot to say and he needed to do it in a way as to not confuse everything.
Crazy insignificant story but there was this ripper from around my way. He was shredding our local park and I'd see him every now and then in the city. @@capo_di_capi I know what you mean. It doesn't bother me that Shane probably won't ever get SOTY, but I do think he will always be underrated because most can't understand it. About damn time man. Arguably one of the most talented skaters of all time if not the single most talented skater of all time. The guy can skate it all and make it look effortless.

The most humble dude, this episode was much needed, I really hope this isn’t really his last interview maybe he’ll realize he’s got a lot more to share!!
Saw him at Ralph’s in north ridge like a year ago and I yelled “WHAT UP SHANE” super loud and then felt like a dousche but without missing a beat he looked me square in the face and said “what’s good man!” And just kept on pushing his cart which was full of meats
Was not really a super fan of Shane, but man, how he opened up on this interview makes me appreciate him more. Thank you, Shane! Thank you, Nine Club! 🏆
Hands down, top 5 episode of all times! Shane is for the people. I really like his approach on turning skaters pro and being an advocate. Great chat with the ole mate. A true skateboarder.
I know this episode is a bit older, but i'm just catching up on many of the episodes. This was a great one to listen to. Shane sure can portray his life events in an intriguing way.
Such an informative interview and an interesting perspective on social media and how its changed the current landscape of the skate industry. These interviews just get better and better. Thanks Nine Club!
So rad to hear Shane on the club, you never really get to hear him talk or do to many interviews. Seems like a really smart & humble guy! Really excited to hear his stories, thanks fellas!
I’m a french fan of both this channel and this skater... and i couldn’t ask for more ! Truly, one of my fav episode. This guy is soooo nice and humble 🙏🏼 Thank you The Nine Club, keep up the good work ! 👊🏼
My word he's been a little tramatized earlybut had obviously knew that skate life was the life, right arm to you and your sister bro , you guys at the 9 club give me more more drive to keep on keeping on!! You rule
now about a year ago i caught shane right when he had just uploaded an instagram clip. you have the best chance in a less than 5 hr window for people to usually reply. i asked him to simply do a nollie backside noseblunt in his house park. nothing big, on any small obstacle and no flip in flip out needed. i have done that trick one time on a flat bar and wanted to get his perspective on it. he immediately replied and said sure.... soon as im back and when i can. sure the fuck nuff maybe two weeks later after he came back from one of his street league trips he put a little montage clip of him ripping his home park. the first trick he did in the clip was a nollie backside noseblunt on a box ledge. needless to say i was giddy as a school girl. in all of shanes footage ive never seen him do a nollie backside nose blunt. i cant imagine him taking maybe more than two tries to land that because he is robotic. my point is what he did... something that large in life to me, probably very small to him speaks volumes. just to remember a request from a fellow skater/ fan... from a couple of weeks before and bust one out means the world. thank you very much mr robot aussie nugget.
@@capo_di_capi i hear ya. its all perspective. when i mean robot as in shane i mean he skates like he is programmed to do it. i have yet to see shane drop a sketchy clip. he is very robotic and bolts with every trick. which agreeing to you is to say he makes it look effortless. im gonna respectfully disagree as what you state nyjah to be. it is kinda easy to say nyjah has awful style when all of his clips are gnar. the last 20 clips of his til death part are bangers/enders that too many cant do. during the last l.a. street league he was doing switch front heels to tailslides down the hubba big section. and im waiting for anyone else to switch front feeble hollywood high or switch lipslide el toro. are you really sure he cant skate switch? no nyjah cant do switch tre front blunts to half cab kicky out like shane...... but its just as unlikely you are gonna see shane hit rails with 5 kinks in it. one is one a tech switch level and one is on a gnar level. lastly its not just nyjah as far as tricks repetively done in contest runs. unless your evan smith or joslin there arent too many exceptions. i can tell what same tricks are gonna be thrown from luan. dashawn jordan, yuto, shane, nyjah, malto, etc. everybody has their own core tricks. and while nyjah repeats his same tricks in his runs.... you would have to be a hater to say he doesnt step up his ender trick in his contest runs. years ago his big tricks in his runs would be half cab flip lips, with so many different bangers in between till now when he does nollie heel noseblunts. i dont know my dude just sayin!
Shane has been so good for as long as I can remember. I used to skate with him sometimes in the Melbourne CBD and he'd come down to my local park Hoppers, he was always so ahead of most others.
One of my fav skaters ever, i grew up in the exact same city as Shane and used to skate this park in the city called "Riverside" basically every day of the week and he was literally there everyday, back around 2006 he actually sold me a full set up once for $50, it was a world industries deck (back when he was sponsored by them) and if i remember it had Krux trucks and Flip wheels, i was stoked! He was always a pretty shy dude and just skated on his own all the time, i remember he was soo ridiculously consistent and you couldn't tell what stance he was, just strolling around doing every 3 flip variation in a row, crazy that he's now of the best skaters in the world, he's certainly earned it! I also used to see most of those homies he mentioned around popular spots in Melbourne too, the skate scene in Melbourne was truly sick back in the mid 2000's, you'd see Aussie ams/pros all the time just through out Melbourne skating spots every weekend, i must have seen Shane at least something like 20 times over the 2 years or so from 2004-2006, lastly RIP for Lewis Marnell, i used to always see him too and hands down the most amazing skater I've seen in real life, ridiculous amazing style/pop, I truly miss that guy.
