Thank you for the second part to Nobiko's 2024 compilation and all the hard work you put into it. Not only do you have to go out and fish, cook, travel, video, get very little sleep, freeze in the cold, or sweat in the heat, there's a considerable amount of video and sound editing involved that sometimes gets forgotten. I'd be curious to know the ratio of time you spend with actual videoing versus editing. I guess the travel time will also make a big impact.
Episode #41 was another one of my favorites! The stone sea bream were amazing. The teeth are interesting - they must eat shellfish or something crunchy or hard. Despite being gray colored outside, their flesh looked like a normal sea bream. I went back to rewatch #41 from my saved videos, and I know recall how much I enjoyed this video. When you were using live bait - I'm not sure the Japanese name of it, but Hawaiian's call it opihi. The single-shelled shellfish - it's actually good eaten cooked or raw. No wonder fish would love this too! 😊 You cooking and complementary music in this video were great! I always enjoy the last few minutes of all your videos.
Uraku Junmai Ginjo sounds like the sake to try! Unfiltered sake sometimes means more trips to the bathroom. 😛 But it's worth the risk! Some of my favorite scotch whiskeys: Oban 14, Balvenie 14 (12 is great too!), Macallan 18, and I'm biased to Nikka whisky (not from Scotland) since I've been to one of their distilleries in Hokkiado. 😊 I also enjoy Hibiki. I would also like to drink in "moderation" this year. But sake and highballs are so oishi. We only live once? We call it "YOLO" here. You only live once. Maybe that's just an excused. 🙂
Regarding your top 10 views, I know you know already that #39 has been my favorite because that was the first video I watched and subscribed to. That entire fishing and camping series is the best. They were so well done, and the editing (I could tell) fantastic. Sorry for getting into such detail since this is mostly a fishing channel, but to be honest, it was the videography, sound editing, and music that really got me into this channel. Well, I love the cooking too. And I enjoy watching outdoor life, camping, van life, and seeing what other people enjoy doing in general.

@@Nobiko_sotoasobi It was nice to see your hat early on in episode #63 (placed 5th) and the North Face Berkeley, CA. I'm about an hour away from there. I think another subscriber, Raeilgunne, probably lives around my area in California based on his past posts. In our area, we don't have a lot of a variety of fish to catch; mostly in the Monterey Bay. I've fished for salmon (back in the day), saba, rock cod, link cod, halibut, sandsabs (prob a similar species to halibut but smaller), and I even accidentally caught a shark. (Moss Landing to @Raeilgunne if you know that area).
Anyways, I hope I can try Syaraku Junmai Ginjo sake from your hometown. I'm sure it is delicious.
I'm looking forward to any van modifications and vanlife videos this year! I enjoy watching things I'd like to do someday, and your cooking always makes me drool. The one dish I've tried but failed at and would like to keep trying at is the deep fried smelt. i can't remember off-hand the episode. but you were fishing in a small hut/hotel and caught small fish that you deep fried. i tried making it but failed. =( very sad. i want to keep trying. 😊

Thanks for another look back! I'll admit, ep. 23 got me so exited seeing someone else do the figure 8. That's the episode where I knew you were a great fisherman. The figure 8 is hardly ever taught in the US, only used by old pike fishermen, but it's supposed to work for all aggressive fish. I'm always happy seeing someone who knows the old techniques. My grandfather taught me how to fish, and he also had a highball after every trip. He would have loved your rankings, and definitely would have tried them all. I'm going to have to look for that Uraku unfiltered raw, I love sake. Let's hope this new year brings great luck fishing, and a lot of views for your channel. Thanks for all your hard work!
