One of the things I really admired about Karen Carpenter was that there were no showy mannerisms on stage - just pure music making with a gorgeous voice and total sincerity. She will live on forever - no doubt about that.

Karen shed light on what anorexia was really about. It wasn't used too much before that from my recollection.

I was a teenager as they climbed the charts. Interestingly enough I have the same vocal range as Karen’s. I actually worked at sounding like her . I played piano and was active in vocal music until I graduated. Later I just sang to my babies and in our Folk Group that sang Mass one Sunday a month. My youngest daughter had a fantastic voice and went All State her sr year , competed all over the state, show choir, ensembles you name it. She is much better than j ever dreamed.
My son served 4 tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and struggled with PTSD and he even asked me to sing to him over the phone at a very stressful point. I owe that moment of trying to comfort my child to Karen and Richard.

What a beautiful video, Steve. Thank you so much, and I was there via the Carpenter 2017 Tour back in March. I flew in on her birthday, March 2nd, and then we toured on the 3rd and 4th, and we were there on that Saturday, the 4th. And you're right, when we got there we could hardly believe the amount of beautiful flowers and Mickey and Minnie Mouse's and angels and cards and pictures and fan letters and on and on and on, with so many who love her still stopping by and visiting her gravesite. Her birthday was March 2nd, so some were wishing her a Happy Birthday as well, but I have seen though through other videos from other fans that it doesn't seem to matter what day you go, there's going to be a lot of flowers and gifts to the one who gave us all such a beautiful gift, herself. We love you, Karen, and thank you so much, Steve. Watching your video made me cry. I still miss her so much. I think I'll go put a record on now. Blessings to you, Steve. And it truly is a beautiful video of the area. It's one of most beautiful cemeteries I've ever seen, just beautiful, and the family Mausoleum is up on a hill. Also, interesting enough, Harry Nilsson was one of her favorite singers and now they are both laid to rest so close in proximity to each other. Maybe they're singing some duets now where they are. I think she would have loved that, and he, too.

I so LOVE Karen Carpenter's Christmas Special and her song, "Close to you"💛💛 I was a Kid when Karen Carpenter passed and it is profoundly sad. However, I so LOVE where she is buried and it is so sweet of fans to leave gifts and cards for her. I would visit her grave, but I live 3,000 miles away and I have no way of getting there. Also, I was wondering, I noticed someone left her a Mickey and Minnie Mouse, I know that Karen Carpenter loved Children and I just saw a video of Karen Carpenter with her brother singing in Disneyland! 💖💖💖 Thank you for sharing Karen Carpenter's Family Mausoleum💛💛💛💛 She was a sweet soul with a lovely voice💛💛💛💛🙏🙏🙏!!

That was a lovely, peaceful visit with a young lady who left us way too soon. Even now, when my family and I start playing holiday music in December, Karen and Richard's Christmas albums are among our favorites. Karen's pure and soaring voice is just marvelous. Thanks for sharing her resting place with us.
I'd also like to compliment that I appreciate the very respectful tone that you employ when speaking of these folks who have passed. Not everyone is thoughtful that way.

Wow! Thanks so much for putting This up on Karen /the Carpenters.
I just recently discovered your TH-cam channel this year and like some of the videos you share Steve, most especially one
I enjoyed was of " It's awonderful Life".That is a favorite and it's profound message of everyone's life having meaning and purpose, and a prayer was answered in George's favor. God has definitely got good plans for the human race and there is never anything in life that is hopeless.Thank God 🙏!
So tonight I was surprised and happy also because I happen to really enjoy Karen's voice and music 🎶and am a fan of their talents .I just saw it was your channel and recognized it.
I was a little girl when they were popular and singing but not until I got much older have I appreciated their music and interest in their lives.
    Thanks for sharing 🙂 .

Thank you for this video ! My Mom and I have been huge fans since the beginning. We still listen to all her songs. It’s still shocking and hard to believe she is gone. I wish things and family could have been different for her. Yes I still blame it on , well , let’s not say names. It’s painfully obvious even without naming them. They weren’t there for her supporting her for a healthy happy her. She’s in God’s hands now. She has heavenly peace now. I’m thankful for that part.

I was a little boy when Karen passed away on my birthday. I'm still sad about it and I go visit her a couple times a year. I usually bring a bottle of Coke for her and one for me and I sit there and I write her a note and leave it for her. I usually include a paragraph for Richard just in case they collect things and give it to the family. it's a very peaceful place in your videos excellent. I was expecting to be sad but as I meditated there the first time I felt comfort and I could have sworn, I imagined her anyway, kicking over the hedges saying "you came to see me? " and I walked away feeling kind of silly for expecting to be upset and expecting to cry and expecting to feel this sense of loneliness and bitterness. I got the impression that she was, very much, resting in peace. sometimes we're so immersed in her lyrics, which she didn't always write, that we assume her disposition was loneliness and sadness and we forget that she was a hugely successful and powerful woman in show business who spoke Japanese and performed at the White House and was married and one hell of a dangerous drummer with access to every muscle car under the sun, who, for better and worse, plausibly, and allegedly, was surrounded by her family constantly. and she also had access to some incredibly powerful and insanely friendly monsters in music like John Bonham and Gene Simmons. and everyone else you can imagine. she truly was on top of the world and now she's on top of that Hill and I still feel so sorry for Richard and his family for everything that they missed out on almost as much as I feel sorry for myself for losing my "girlfriend" on my 9th birthday.
see you soon Karen. ♥️ and thank you to the keepers of the cemetery because it's really is a beautiful serene welcoming place of rest where the scenery and the weather and the location allow these heroes from all walks of life speak through their headstones and their mausoleums. and I also think it's pretty fucking cool that she's a stone's throw away from guitar center. I'm just saying...
