    Enjoying the videos lads, thank you. Proper bass fishing. The bass are so pale, I assume that’s the coloured water.

      Thanks ,much appreciated! Yes I believe it is due to the coloured water!

    Another great videos and well done on the PB Bass. Reminds me of my childhood in that part of the world, although I learned to surfcast on the Suffolk beaches. I see the Eels are still as 'tangly' as ever !! Not sure if it's really fact or not, but once I'd had an Eel and got slime on the trace, I never caught anything else apart from other Eels on that trace. So would change the complete trace every time I caught an Eel. I live in NZ now, but would love to have a fish in this area with you guys whenever I next visit the UK (next year hopefully)

    Great video, I’ve only just discovered your channel, this type of fishing really interests me, do you have any videos on your set up? What rods reels, lb line hooks weights etc? I think I may of heard a comment about 2/4oz rod but any suggestions etc? Cheers

    Been hooked on your videos for the past couple months lads....watched the lot and subscribed to the channel to get updates. Im also in Essex so its good to see a few local lads representing us on here.....Im still yet to nab myself an Essex Codling from the shore....when you guys target them, do you focus on the Spring Run? Or do you go for the Winter Cod? I know Essex is not the best place to target them these days.....but I'd still love to nab one.

      Hi Luke, glad to hear it 🙏 . This last codling season has been better than in recent years. They seem to turn up in numbers around late October for a few weeks. They then returned again in late February. Still there now in the right conditions through until the end of May 🎣 thanks for the sub

    Did you add anything on the top to hold the rod in place like a v etc

    • @mrjscam
      @mrjscam  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it's a screw in butt rest, again available from most carp/course type shops. 👍

    Ever had any takes on the artificial crab lures?

    • @mrjscam
      @mrjscam  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Never tried them to be honest, the water here is very coloured so they tend to feed on scent rather than visually

  • @gary-dn4uw

    Brilliant boys well done. I am on the Blackwater and it is SO slow at the moment. Great to see someone catching a bass! Quick question. What rods do you use? Great size and just what I need. I try to be mobile and fish lots of spots in a session too and my old beach caster is a monster. Thank you. 🐟🐟👍

    • @mrjscam

      Stick at it Nigel! You'll get one in the end. I tend to use a bass rod I built from an old 2/34lb carp blank. Any carp or spod rod will do but I generally cut the butt down by 6inches to fit. Hope this helps

  • @gary-dn4uw

    • @mrjscam
