Such a great idea for a series. The design is really versatile and understated making it a great "all arounder" like you said. I honestly think it looks best on the leather at 6:08. Looking forward to the next installment!
It really is a perfect everyday watch. A buddy sold me his for a great price and it's quickly become my beloved. I like the bracelet. It's comfy and pairs well with the case.
Was going to sell my sarb033 until I put it on a rubber strap - it has now been transformed into an explorer style piece, and I can’t take the thing off!
Definitely a classic Seiko and you did a very nice job highlighting its appeal. I have the age-old problem in that I have fewer and fewer opportunities to wear a watch like that, preferring a diver or a pilot watch in casual wear. Still, the SARB033 and 035 are elegant designs for not too much money. It's sad to see that Seiko has dropped them from their catalog. I don't think the Presage replacements with 4R35 movements are nearly as nicely proportioned as these two SARBs.
I with you on how often I need a dress watch but I like to have one in the box. I had a newer Presage I moved on from. Some of the dials are kind of fun on them but the sarb has a bit more of a timeless design. I definitely prefer this case design and the proportions too. Appreciate it Lee.
great review Bob! I agree with everything you said. its extremely versatile and tough to beat at that price point. i found it a touch too small for me so i went for a SARY057. both are great pieces though! looking forward to some more Seiko Icons :)

I have both 033 and 035 for the last year and they have been great! So versatile and reliable. Arguably the best value fo money Seiko out there with the SKX007, the bracelet is crap so much better on quick release leather straps.
I'm very happy with mine too. Only regret is not buying one sooner. I've been wearing mine on leather since this video. Definitely the way to go. Thanks.
I had a question about the Seiko sarb033. I am interested in this watch for purchase, the condition is pristine with box and papers. The seller wants $530.00, so my question is if it’s worth it or should I wait for something else? This would be my first watch. Thank you for any feedback
It’s amazing that this great watch (with the 6r15 movement and sapphire crystal) is still available for US$335 (Amazon Japan) and its replacement, the szsb012, out next month (March 2020) is available for pre-order at over $380 (rrp$475) with only the inferior 4r35 movement and Hardlex crystal). I think if you can still find a Sarb033 or 035 for around $400, now is the time to grab a bargain.

TimeToGo Travel And Timepieces For those that don’t mind a 42mm, the SARV series are also a bargain. The Seiko SARV003 (made in Japan) is very similar in looks to the 033 but has the 4r36 movement and a Hardlex crystal. However it can be had for the amazing price of $160-$180. I think this particular range has flown under the radar somewhat.
