Even if we provoked a war with China directly, we face a far greater threat from our paltry bandwidth than we do the range of our missiles. Each time we brag about creating a new missile, please understand ... it isn't because we created a factory to create them in. Instead, like a timeshare, it will just cut the same too small of a pizza into more slices. Get it !?? Bc our defense industries goal isn't to provide the US with bandwidth to fight whatever wars think tanks get us into. No. It's to be profitable. That's it. They do it within the rules, and sure, congress creates rules that make it hard for them to leave us completely defenseless ... but these people never think, "whoa, we'd be screwed if anything really kicked off." Bc their brains are too busy trying to think of ways to do more just in time manufacturing (which a freaking SNEAZE can bring to a halt), and to be deliberately downsized ... and to just deliver the shit that lobbyists sell over 3 years or 4 years ... what's the diff to these people !? When we don't need inventory. We need manufacturing CAPACITY. And that is the episode that Sandboxx, and Task and Purpose, and whoever else who cares about the facade of our defense industry should be making ... bc the situation is very, very bad.

"While the steady pace of progress can be found throughout, the path of progress nonetheless comes with inflection points; periods of time when new technologies, concepts, design methodologies, material sciences, or a combination of all four emerge from the ground clutter of R&D to reshape the way aviators fly and fight, in the sky."
That has to, literally (no pun) be one of the best sentences that I have ever heard from a journalist on TH-cam- or elsewhere, tbh. As a writer with an education (mostly) focused on English, etymology and philioligy, I am seriously impressed amd a bit humbled... Yup. Russia is definitely a paper tiger, and I very highly suspect China is too. China's PLA and probably PLAN leadership are said to be just as or more currupt as Russian leadership. China is what concerns me more than Russia, but they haven't seen any combat since the 70's and that did not go well AT ALL for them.

Except Ukraine is losing. Russia is also losing, but not as quickly. That whole mess is a nightmare for everyone and the most disgusting waste of blood and treasure for the West since WW2. Whatever's left of Ukraine when a peace treaty is finally signed will be much smaller, and as a nation they will wish they had made peace a lot sooner as their population and economy have both been devastated. But hey, at least some rich bankers and corrupt politicians will have made a fortune and own half the country. I'm sure the millions of Ukrainians who lost family members and lost their futures will be glad to know they contributed something worthwhile being puppets of the Joe Bidens and Larry Finks of the world.

It absolutely is more government spending, but it was a tactical decision that happens to also serve some of our needs. It also created a huge boom for our defense industry to demonstrate the effectiveness of the equipment. AARGM-ER's and SiAW's shaping is a clear give away. The nose shape, the missile length, the implied large fuel fraction, and the body chines all indicate it is designed for high-altitude launch a steep rapid climb to around 150,000 ft, with a lot of remaining fuel left to boost its horizontal speed, and a coasting gliding lift-body developed for very high speed fly-outs at high-altitude with a very high-altitude (low-drag) coast, for long-range on very distant targets. Think at least 300 km to 400 km. There is no way in hell that is a 120 km missile. SiAW maybe optimised for faster and shorter-range uses on closer targets, if necessary, but AARGM-ER definitely is not that and SiAW will have at least 200 to 300 km range. When it says 'stand-in', it's referring to firing it inside the radius of the longest range heavy SAMs. i.e. at least 480 km radius for SM-6. Yes, it will mostly be a 'stand-off' weapon.

The weapons you covered today are either operational or near deployment. While our adversaries are bragging about weapons that are no where near their claimed abilities the US quietly went about making theirs operational. While USAF has started receiving the newer AGM-88Gs. On the other hand there are 2000 JASSMs delivered to US by LM in 2016. LM can produce 500 JASSM/LRASM and it can even be upgraded to 1000 a year. Additionally 856 SM-6s have been delivered so far as listed on unclassified procurement docs. And a planned increased production to 300 SM-6 by 2028. Lastly, though not discussed hypersonic MAKO is ready for production.

The gap between US military tech and all the rest is so much, that the submissions that lose competitions, and don't get selected by military are far far superior than anything others countries have or trying to build, so one can imagine how advanced the tech that goes into production is. One recent proof was in Ukraine that US provided Himars were giving Ukraine high accuracy and hitting Russia at will.

Alex, make a video about a new 'system' developed/being developed in which the F-35 (or possibly even the F-15) can allow itself to work as a targeting module for ground-based artillery-style weapons but aimed at hitting enemy aircrafts! A possible scenario can be that the F-15 or F-35 can allow an enemy fighter to 'target' itself, and follow itself, all the while leading it into the 'kill zone' of the air-guided ground-based artillery system!
Is it real? Is it over-hyped?
