It's a shame that most people get disheartened about studying abroad as soon as tuition fees are brought up, there are many channels one can take to secure a scholarship or a sponsorship , all you need is to be very diligent and very persistent, passing the IELTS with a good score is among the first things you should do in my opinion, having translated copies of all of your academic transcripts and diplomats is also essential. I my self am now on the final steps of applying for a VISA, I haven't confirmed a date yet, hopefully things move smoother from this point onward, I still have many things to prepare from the day I get my VISA to the day I set foot into my room there and settle, hope to see something from you on that subject soon. take care

Well, I personally do not blame those who do not want to jump into an international experience (the irony is that there are some people who even reject a scholarship). Whether we like it or not, People's experiences and perspectives are different, especially if they've never been abroad, or do not know the value of education in leading countries, such as the UK. @Alla: I wonder if u could share your experience? How did you secure funding? and which course and degree you are applying for? Hoping that things will go smoother with your Visa :)

is it the university that announce that there is a scholarship to offer or we just select a university and ask her for a scholarship ? second thing ,do we have first to contact the university and be sure that it is ready do offer me the scholarship to pass to the second step which is contacting the supervisor prof, or we just need to contact the supervisor prof and he will help to get a scholarship ? thank you : )
It depends, there are hundreds of scholarships and I can name only few, Algerian governmental scholarships (and they are usually announced by the universities), or in the case of scholarships offered by UK universities, you have to check the universities website as they announce their PhD scholarships by the start of every academic year (between the months of June and October). Concerning your questions about contacting the supervisor, yes, contacting the supervisor is a crucial step in the doctoral registration process, but you need to be clear about your financial situation, are you asking them for the PhD scholarship or you already have the money. If you are asking them for the scholarship, be clear about that and your research proposal will be decisive in choosing you (so always keep that in mind). If your proposal is eligible for a doctoral research, the process of registration might differ from one university to the other and from one field to the other. In some universities, you will be offered a place straight after you proposal acceptance, and in others you might have to go through another selective process.

I have a scholarship from the Algerian ministry of higher education. The scholarship is still active for English language students in most universities in Algeria. I'll talk about it more specifically in another video. Thanks for watching :)
