Yes, this bike should have a common charge plug and some more battery capacity. There even still is free space for, 1st in front of the bench and 2nd above the front foot rests...
I think they were trying hard to keep the weight down. More battery would mean more weight, probably a lot more weight. Which in turn means worse performance in pretty much every dimension, including efficiency. Heavier battery would make it more difficult for people to swap out for a spare battery, which I believe is possible with these bikes These are a LOT lighter than a CE-04
@jsleeio Yes, but I think, the CE 02 is so light, that most costumer would prefer more range over very low weight. And about price, the CE 02 isn't a budget vehicle anyway.
I'd love one to park in my garage next to the (amazing) CE-04. Unfortunately Australia's regulations now require *dual-channel* ABS on all new motorcycles and this inexplicably doesn't have it ... despite BMW having been the first manufacturer to put ABS in a production motorcycle (the K100) all those years back. I've told the local dealer that I want one, but I'm not particularly hopeful.
@ these are the obstacles that I love & that’s where the aftermarket/creatives come in. I’m heavily into personalizing/modding. On an all of my e-bikes/emotos/PEVs, I’ve corrected imperfections or perceived shortcomings with outside of manufacture shops & parts. How hard would it be to add dual ABS? IMHO, BMW did what most all major manufacturers do, they skimp on lower lineup models. It seems that they do this IOT not undercut their flagship models, but wind up cannibalizing or shortchanging current & potential owners. I’d hope for a cult aftermarket; however, the restrictions to enter aren’t as favorable or desirable as Surron, Talarias, erides, etc. Hopefully, someone or yourself, if inclined, can come up with some aftermarket solutions to all that ails BMW PEVs. As for the CE04, that’s my first idea, but I choose the uber urban option in the CE02, which is the perfect option for my environment. Right now I’m looking at the new can-am’s; between that & the CE04, those have what I’m looking for in midsize PEVs. Good luck if you decide to pursue a dual ABS CE02.
That's so stupid that it cant be charged at charging stations.. why on earth would they make something you need to drive back home to charge?? And from a company like BMW nonetheless..
Didn't kymco produce the REX on the i3? I bring this up before kymco has an electric scooter. What if this BMW scooter has Kymco internals. I'm just saying this seems odd that Amber brings all this up and it seems very archaic of BMW to use a strategy that is not progressive.
Yes, Kymco did. And that engine also powered two 60hp maxi-scooters, which were assembled in Germany (C600/650 Sport and C650 GT). But afaik, Kymco hasn't anything to do with this CE 02. (BMWs still offers two 400cc scooters, which are produced by a Chinese company.)
Is it fun to bop around on though?
How many watts charger? How long will it take to charge it?
I wonder how this pairs up against the Zero FXE.
Batteries are actually removable... and that's why its only 48V system...

The CE02 is perfect for urban areas. Anywhere a scooter, PEV, etc., can thrive, so can be CE02.
Vegas, probably need a CE04…

I was thinking that this would be a foot forward on the floor. This is more like a motorcycle. Just like you said comparable a Grom.
can't charge outside the house? that's lame. welp, onto the next option

Cute! The range is horrible though. Looks cool except for those wheels.
The styling is amazing. Cyberpunk minibike vibes. Just wish they made an internal combustion version.
Nothing says party like teal
👏👏
Buy the long range bro, be smart!

Plenty of better alternatives at a fraction of the price.
Like what ?
Too slow for the interstate, that's a bummer
Amber? Honestly it sounds like a dude.
He was Albert before😂
It's major flaw is the price.
