Something you may want to do is only run non-ethanol gas. I do this & add 1 tablespoon of octane booster. No, you will not experience increased speed except on climbing grades. Performance is better in hill riding. I'm 210lbs, full stage 2 plus a performance carb, a rear carrier & a windscreen to turn wind more laminar instead of turbulent. Also changed out headlight bulbs to brighter. Cruise on flat land no wind zero elevation at 45/46mph & top at 50/51 but it takes a mile or longer to reach top speed. Figure my added weight above curb to be 230/235 with bags, theft cable & lock, carrier, windscreen. Lowered my MPG to 98 from 106. Fantastic bike for running errands around town & fun.
@@gizzabem howcome it’s best to run those fuels? I thought the manual recommends just unleaded and thats it, what are the benefits of running a higher octane fuel?
@@musicalharmony4564 from what I heard, and I feel like it makes sense, is that the ethanol won’t build up in the carburetor and won’t have to worry about the build up later on. It’s more so of having cleaner gas for your carb 👍🏼
@@musicalharmony4564 you won’t feel much of a difference lol it could be a placebo on power but it definitely will help keeping your carb clean! Plus you’re not gonna spend a lot more anyways 😂

The guy I bought my Ruckus from told me to run Shell 93 as it doesn't have ethanol in it.
I usually run 91 but sometimes I do 89. It is good to run it high octane though!
