These are the best lessons on the entire internet for my skill level. All things I studied theory wise but could never apply them musically to my playing. This stuff is mechanically beyond my reach which is amazing to find a good resource to jump start some playing growth spurts I haven't felt in years. Love what you do
Great useful tute on Diminished Jack!! You didn’t mention Scott Henderson. What you were doing is so much like his style especially in his own instructional videos. Scott was guitarist for Chick Corea before Frank Gambale came along. Thanks again!
@@JackGardiner I bought Scotts DVD years ago as Levi Clay is talking about here: your phrasing reminded me of Scott when he fires up here th-cam.com/video/5Li5hIHeupA/w-d-xo.html
I'm a new subscriber and just want to thank you for these videos ..I have been playing for many years and although I'm a pretty good rhythm player I want to improve my lead and solo work..your videos are helping me advance and I appreciate it..there are so many tutorial videos out there that it's hard to find the right one..some are too fast or not enough explanation and some have instructors that act as if it's a chore and don't want to make these videos..your tutorials are perfect for me..thanks again.
Adrian Farrell i’d also like to see this, he alluded to it in this video. Robbed Ford has some content on this but to be frank I need the Jack interpretation of that!
Great lesson. Very helpful for me I've been working on this scale a lot. It's an acquired taste. Use with caution..... I really like the major arppegios. I know there's a dom7 built in the scale along with several dim chords.... It kills me how some people easily make this scale sound great! Thanks!
Hello Jack. Love your approach to the Diminished Scale. I'm learning alot. Thanks. Would you consider a follow up tutorial discussing the whole tone scale. I would love to hear your thoughts on it. Thanks
That Strandberg sure does look comfortable, Jack. Glad you are associated with Ola and this lesson was great. The sound is way out of my genre but it won't be for long. Really, half-whole? Are you serious? Never heard of it. Something new every day. Good show.
Oof, that was a great introduction for me, thanks man. I have a bit of a hard time with your accent, but I guess I can put that in my ear training time 😂 Cheers!
Learn this scale with 4 notes per string using all 4 fingers without sliding. It takes work at first but once you get it your entering Holdsworth territory.

Hi Jack, would you consider a follow up lesson on using the diminished to get from the I to IV and V to 1?

@@chrispicha yeah it was like trasposing the same licks to the V, right?
