@@kinglish12 that's fairly true, noises like this should be very occasional so it could catch you of guard and actually scare you. My idea is also making them sound very distant and when the goatman actually spawns, you can hear them the way you hear them now
This is my way 1 build a safe house that is tall and block the doors with blocks 2 live in that place 3 get supplies only in day it’s way safer 4 get villagers
The idea behind this is cool. But the screams and the monologues need to be more dispersed. It’s not scary if you hear it 24/7. The scariest things are when you forget you’re in danger, always the subtle reminder before the attacks. Maybe you don’t hear anything for a day or two and then BOOM he’s on you. It’s like going in the woods, you’re not gonna see a bear everytime you go in them.

One tip to barricade is fences. Place fences instead of windows and when it turns night place fences in front of the door so the NIGHT DWELLA cant come in and lick you fee
@@Chiefxd.The goatman can climb walls so If you want to place fences outside to make a safe zone then make the fences be 2 blocks tall and place trap doors on top of them so when the goatman tries to climb the fences he will hit his hairy head on the trap doors. Also ples let me lick your fee

What's annoying about the Goatman sounds, aside from the ridiculous frequency, is how meaningless they seem to be, and directionless too. They'd be more effective if they indicated, say, different stalking levels or chances of him spawning, and have the sounds be 3d so they seem like they're coming from a specific direction off in the distance, with them getting louder over time, indicating a physical source that is gradually coming closer and closer, like you're being hunted. You can even have it start off with the animalistic howling echoing in the distance, progressing to the grunts and growls, and slowing becoming more human sounding as it gets closer, first pretending to be someone screaming for help to try and lure you closer, then becoming taunting as he shouts out "I see you", then finally having it whisper "run" into your ear right before he attacks. Then the sounds would be scary not just because they're creepy sounds but also because they actually correspond to the Goatman's movements as he's coming to kill you and each sound indicates the rising danger as he gets closer to you creating a rising sense of dread. Just don't have it happen too often or else it's too easy to become desensitized to it. Instead they're just this random repetitive soundboard going off constantly which completely ruins the effect. Also some damn variety with the sounds would be nice. Different howls (not so fucking loud goddamn), different voices calling for help, different taunts, etc.
I def reccomend this guy named Calvin it's just like this but it's like a series he's already on season two and the episodes are about an hour long and it's way spookier

The Night Dweller made more of an impression in just a single appearance than the Goatman did in ten.
