Damn, it has the same exact feel as the OG, but with real instruments. The Remake one added drums and everything, this one stays closer and I damn well teared up.
Also, relevant comment. This rearrangment of the Prelude is giving me chills and I'm tearing up at that choir! I'm listening to this through my headphones, and it's just... glorious! 😭
OMG, I absolutely LOVE this theme, it gives me chills every time, and it is so relaxing…it’s definitely one of the greatest Final Fantasy themes EVER made!😁😌

I did not get into the beta, it says not available on this device, sadly this was the case with last soldier as well and i never got to play. Did you try the beta on bluestacks?
Yes and no. It's the OG game completely being redone here. So it will spoil the OG. Remake has some pretty significant changes so far. If you have not played the OG and want zero spoilers for that. Then yes avoid.
I don’t think it will. From how this has been marketed this looks to be consolidating the compilation timeline and sort-of being a one stop shop for that, where the Remake timeline is its own fork.
I don't understand the lack of visible hype for this game. If they don't cut (too) much of the main storyline content from the OG, this could be one of the best things ever. I'm not even addressing all of the other stuff - especially the Advent Children chapter which should come way later after release. The battle system seems interesting, the duo art style evolved from the original is really cool, having extra content like that Battle Tower and more loadouts and loot seem amazing (even with the gacha twist). I just hope they're pouring their souls into this and not just a bumrushed short version of what "we" want. I'm not particularly interested on the Zack part after playing CC Reunion.
It sounds good, it's a good version of the Final Fantasy prelude, but it just sounds way too similar to the FFXIV one for me to like it at all as a remake of the original PS1 song. FF7's synth is unique and beautiful, I'm pretty tired of the mentality that orchestrated = better.
On the official website in the list under "Requirements for Closed Beta Test" the following can be found.... "Game data and progress from the closed beta test cannot be transferred over to user accounts after release."
