    Have you used the chord pads before? If so, how do you use them?

    Thanks for the playlist.Not sure if mentioned anywhere but you can also save chord presets, like if you create a set of chords that you might want to reuse then saving them as a preset is a great way to get back to them

    I was just getting into chord pads when finding your very good walktrough, exelent work thank you :)
    Am using chord pads to learn music theory from a beginners view like trying out what sounds good without knowing exactly the definition of the chords.

    Great Tutorial, as are all of yours from Lanewood Studios. I am using Cubase 13 Pro in Windows. Some of the hovering and right click behaviors shown in the video are not available to me. Is that a Mac/Windows thing or is there some way I can enable these functions. For example, none of the arrows on the borders of the pads appear when the mouse hovers of a pad. Thank you.

    • @LanewoodStudios
      @LanewoodStudios  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m using windows as well so it should be possible for you as well. This is Cubase 12 though and I know some things have changed in Cubase 13. I still need to dig into that myself.

    • @glenngollobin6602
      @glenngollobin6602 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your suggestion is right on target. I went back to version 12 and it behaved exactly as you demonstrated in the video. I am puzzled as to why functionality and presets would appear to be lost when transitioning to a new version. In addition I was able to access midi guitar patterns that will be quite useful. In fact, these sorts of patterns were the original reasons why I was exploring chord pads. This is by far the best video on this subject that I have viewed. There is so much in here, I will have to study and review it a few times.. Thanks so much.@@LanewoodStudios

    Chord pads are great feature. One thing I miss that it cannot preview the midi pattern if I try to import. Also it cannot show 3rd Party midi {or may be I am missing something} like EZkeys library on its menu. and only one pattern can be loaded per instance. It would be nice if the pattern is different per pad.

    • @LanewoodStudios
      @LanewoodStudios  ปีที่แล้ว

      All good ideas. Sound like you were using chord pads with patterns a bit already?

      @@LanewoodStudios I am experimenting a bit. If @Steinberg adds the few features that I have mention, it will have me replace using scaler.

      @@LanewoodStudios It work’s okay but needed lot of routing as if I load multiple instances but if we can have few more functionality on chord pad I guess it will e game changer for midi sampling. @Steinberg should look into this .

    HI, I'm using CB13, I build the chord in midi F1, F3,G3, A3, C4 Fmaj7/9, I want the chord pad to play that voicing, I have dropped the midi onto the chord track, then drop the chord onto the pad, I have the pad unlocked the chord drops onto the pad but not in the voicing I require. can you explain the best way to get the chord from a midi track onto the pad then, onto the chord track all with the same voicing.

    • @LanewoodStudios
      @LanewoodStudios  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't think you can do it like that. As soon as you drop the chord on the chord track, the voicing will be adjusted as set on the chord track. You can directly midi learn to a chord pad though by playing a chord on your midi keyboard.

    Is there a way to make the chord track play patterns? It looks as if only the Chord Pads can play patterns.

    • @LanewoodStudios
      @LanewoodStudios  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can have the chord track control a VSTi that plays patterns (e.g. a Kontakt guitar).

      There are some patterns that you can setup for the players or even import your own midi loop for a pattern like I showed in the video. Check it out.

    • @ramspencer5492
      @ramspencer5492 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Couldn't you make your own midi parts, arpeggios etc, save it and use it as a template to trigger the chord playing style? That wouldn't be a perfect solution.... But it might be a time saver.... You you can edit from there..... In long processes even cutting your time in half is a big deal. I like everything to be tailored as directly at possible to the project I'm working on.

    • @ramspencer5492
      @ramspencer5492 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I mean if you're relying too much on a program that plays a midi instrument part for you..... You didn't really compose that. I think it's a balance.... When dealing with doing all of the instruments yourself. Better if whatever the starting point was, that it's so customized, that it's still pretty much your own composition. On every instrument. Loops for percussion is one thing. (still think those should be edited personally) But melodic loops (and midi loop parts) enters a whole different territory that's a little more dodgy. If it's free use it's not sketchy but it's still a little dodgy.

    • @LanewoodStudios
      @LanewoodStudios  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ramspencer5492 sure you can import your own loops as well. And they will adapt to the chords then.
