I’m so excited to have found this! I volunteer at a cat and dog rescue and think these would be such great supervised enrichment tools for both the cats and the dogs. All the other diy versions I’ve seen require a sink or floor mat base but I need them to be able to be dried in the dryer on high for sanitation purposes in the shelter environment. So this is perfect! Thank you so much for sharing!

Such an easy to follow tutorial! I’d rather be cutting and sewing than cutting and tying each string into a knot. Love the fabric choice as well.

Pretty cool. Sara Ondrako also has a no sew one with a pocket option. Dollar Tree has the plastic sink mats and even baby blankets for the strips. I like doing double knots so they don't untie in the wash. The dogs love it and it helps tamp down their energy level. Just be careful if you have a dog that might try to eat it. Always supervise and take up once done just to be safe. Hope that helps.

This is great! I made a small once a couple years ago. But I used a plastic basket/organizer and fleece. Super cute!

Nice. Could you do one with other types of places to hide the food? Perhaps a bit harder to get.

Thank you for the tutorial. Easy to follow instructions. Will give it a try.
In answer to Katarina - dogs will pick up food from the floor anyway whether they have a mat or not because in their wild state they are foragers. Your just adding a bit of brain power & interest and slowing down their intake into the equation.

Hi! Know this is a year old, but I'm wondering how well these have worked out, and if you'd make any changes. My family also has a new Whoodle (standard poodle) puppy🥰, and I'm wondering how the size (overall and the strips) has worked as your puppy has grown. Also, you mentioned you were making two. Was 2 enough? We're using Kongs, but I really need to make some of these too!

my issue is i don't have a sewing machine. so that will be an issue. also how do you stop them from just chewing the fabric?? but super cute and great colours. i'd need to make 3. two larger like these and one smaller. so what measurements should i do for the smaller one.

Not sure where you live but some towns/cities have a "maker space" where you can use a sewing machine and even get some assistance....even some libraries have "tools" like sewing machines you can check out.
