@@poketdoom no they don't. They need to be propelled by some sort of force of course but there's no requirement for air. Obviously you are going to have to deal with the fact that application of that force will be returned pushing you away from the grapple as it is pushed from you but you just need to make sure your tether that it's connected to is long enugh to account for that. Another thing you need to keep in mind is that there is no gravity to assist in getting the grapple itself to actually loop around the thing you are grappling to but this could also be accomplished by simply applying a pulling motion once it has gone past the target your trying to grapple to. Or you could aim to puncture the target with the grapple meaning that you don't need to calculate the direction of force required to wrap the grapple around the target.

Honestly, I kind of grew bored of him after like season 6-ish. He's still fun, but definitively not the best. I also prefered him in earlier seasons (1&2) where he was just kind of dimwitted and not a full on moron. York is the best.
Church because he has a great personality and deep down he is broken and sacrificed himself for his friends on multiple occasions if you ask me he is a true hero whether he be called Chuch the alpha or epsilon.
I gotta say no, he’s as good as any other character that’s essentially a walking meme, and I do enjoy it, but he lacks a lot of the depth, relatability, and badassery of other characters, prime example being Felix, who I thought was a fantastic villain from start to finish
I don't know what to tell the people who're complaining about the outcome. Screwattack was working *with* RoosterTeeth on this. The writers of the show had direct input. This is just how it would happen.
Meta should've won that fight and he can beat Carolina, his use of equipment and strength and durability beats Carolina's speed and skills in martial arts plus Carolina isn't that durable she could barely deal with Felix stabbing her in the leg, let alone deal with Meta slicing her chest twice
Screwattack is a part of RT. RT owns Screwattack, you could say, and that might have been a slight in factor in the fight between Yang from RWBY and that other girl, but I still think Yang would have won regardless of company affiliations
Does this video make anyone want to go back and rewatch the whole series again for like the millionth time? Also best death battle fight ever (in my opinion)
To me anything past season 17 was unwatchable. Rvb zero is utter trash and rooster teeth should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. Though realistically I dont think rvb should continue as a series. They ended it quite well with season 17 and that's the end of the series.
@@BadenPra Nah. Time distortion devours power like anything. Active camo is more intensive than adaptive too. Besides. 6 AI? Epsilon is far more in tune, more helpful and less draining. If anything Espilon improves Carolina, especially with their team work and trust. Whereas the Meta has no free will really, and it isn't even fully human as it still lacks the necesary AI. I give you this though. With that time distortion unit? He could win. If he doesn't kill her there though. He basically loses as she has power and he doesn't. So 1 wincon for him. In terms of combat, Carolina (she bested maine by miles so durability and strength won't matter) In terms of AI, also Carolina. Basically apart from the one 1 wincon. The Meta really falls short.

It was Church's fault the tank shot him. He went to the past to prevent his death, but inadvertently was the cause for the tank aiming at him, and he's blamed Caboose for it ever since.
They should then portray it accurately if that's the case, because sometimes the animations show things that are objectively misleading. Such as when they did Link vs Cloud, they explicitly said that Cloud's ribbon made him immune to status effects and then in the animation he got stunned and frozen. They may as well not include the animations if all it does is give misinformation. In this, they show Carolina get punched while time was stopped. Or, if we're going by accurate physics, slowed to near stopping. Since she got punched when relative time was slowed for her, but not for Maine, it would mean his punch should have generated near infinite force and obliterated her. Even if the animation isn't a perfect representation of what would happen, I think it is safe to assume that Maine's time-stopping ability would come into play and if that happened, there is no way Carolina could have withstood a punch from her opponent.

@@kuggacouragegx6093 Except Carolina and Tex are relatively equal in terms of skill and ability and Tex can fight both the Meta and Washington at the same time.
People who are saying the Meta would win this fight don't understand the circumstances of the video. Carolina has Epsilon Church with her, and he *has access to most of the fragments Meta has through memories*. Not to mention all the equipment Carolina managed to pick up. This leveled the playing field. Carolina was already better than Maine, and now having access to equipment on par with Meta? It just solves the fight. If it were just Carolina without any AI or equipment, it would be a repeat of when Tex took on Meta and Wash.
Not to mention this is Rooster Teeth's authority here, therefore, this whole video is facts. These Meta-tards are tripping if they think they can debate with the creators themselves.
+MD Gamer 2.0 I just think meta would win and in a sense he did win the entire outcome of the fight comes from the last moment but say the Ai controlling meta didn't let him get distracted it changes the outcome The deciding factor was could meta's defense outlast caroline it did she used her trump card his trump card was better So its a legit debate you can't say people are fangirling if it could have gone The other way is meta simply ignored him
+Axle Fullbuster That is the thing though, Meta is *all of the fragments* manipulating Maine. This isn't Maine and 7 AI we're talking about. Its Meta as a whole entity. The fact that the AI distracted him doesn't change, because its not Maine being distracted by the AI. Its the Meta being distracted by itself.
Nexus Gaming Zone personally I'm calling this fight a coin flip but I see your point and the creator's obviously know meta better than me And knew meta would get distracted by episolon giving carolina an opening Like in joker vs sweet tooth So in that sense I can't argue but if it's about whose better by the numbers though pure stats meta wins
+Axle Fullbuster if Meta was stronger then he would have been first on the leaderboards but he was 7th. Remember that all his fighting skill is still his Agent Maine personality but the fact is when you have 7 A.I. based on different emotions and traits than its thoughts and decisions easily become conflicted by one another. The same thing happened in the last episode in Season 6 which caused Meta to lose his A.I. in the first place, when he got distracted by the Alpha A.I. allowing Agent Washington to set off an EMP. Effectively destroying the Meta and leaving behind a broken shell of a man without purpose or directive
"I'm tired" "You should probably rest then" "Rest.... I'd like that" "Yeah you go on and rest now okay" "Okay" "Goodbye" "Funny for some reason I hate goodbyes...." "Yeah I think I know why" "Can you say see you later or something else instead.... because I don't never liked goodbyes" "Okay......see you later"
In case anyone was wondering...: Grant the souls I send your way Final peace and rest at last Cause they're going down Yeah, they're going down You know they're going down Yeah, they're going down [Instrumental] Grant the souls I send your way Final peace and rest at last Cause they're going down Yeah, they're going down You know they're going down Yeah, they're going down If they ever thought that they had a shot You're the one who sold the lies they bought Yeah, they're going down Yeah, they're going down
Yes, It’s been 3 years by this point but I’ll say, this is still one of their best fight animations. Perhaps not THE best, but 100% up there, at the very least top 10, and high up on that list
Well the reason he didn't shoot it, because that struck me too, is that if he did blow her up he would likely destroy Epsilon in the process thus preventing him from stealing the AI and becoming 'whole'.

look I understand your opinion but that is not how death battle works they decide who would win based on the facts before hand then make a battle that would be entertaining for the viewer
Not so much as luck, the meta was distracted because the other AI fragments brain washed him and he listens to the AI, so when church talked to him he got distracted.
Man, it's an interesting feeling coming back to this one. When I first saw it, I hadn't even heard of death battle. Afterwards I checked the show out, became an instant fan, and now here I am years later with a newfound apprectiation for things like how Wiz and Boomstick's introduction was done. Wonder if there are people who had the same reaction towards red vs blue when they saw this episode on screwattack's channel. Makes you think...
Didn't it take days for the healing unit to fix a single flesh wound that missed any major arteries? And wouldn't Church have shorted out from using everything at once, and been unable to run the healing unit in the first place, so Carolina should have been a pool of meat-flavored cool-aid in her suit when she hit that wall at Mach Jesus? And didn't the meta they're using fix the suit's power issue at the windmill? And it only became a problem again after the AI fragments got wiped in the EMP? Except they obviously aren't wiped in the fight, because they're right there, so the power issue should still be fixed? And isn't the Meta dominated almost entirely by Sigma and his quest for perfection, like the counselor said when he was talking about the Meta with Locus, so it isn't really a cacophony of voices, so much as a chorus in agreement? And didn't Maine (and pretty much all of the AI's) follow Sigma without question or doubt, because of all the brainwashing, so there wouldn't be any disagreement or delay, like there would be when someone who can actually think for themselves receives instruction from something 200 times faster than them regardless of how much trust is there? And didn't the AI fragments get weaker each iteration (You know, the whole reason Carolina wanted both Eta and Iota, which are a part of the Meta now) so each of the Meta's component fragments would be stronger than Epsilon individually, without even taking into account the possibility for teamwork or parallel processing? Or you know, how Alpha beat pretty much every other fragment with just a little help (even if it did take him out too). You know, the whole reason season 13 ended the way it did, Epsilon not being good enough to run everything, even for very small amounts of time, so he was gonna make a bunch of new fragments to run the suit and save his friends? And speaking of teamwork and parallel processing, remember how Epsilon basically recreated the Meta with imaginary friends because of the advantages of having multiple fragments working together? Except Meta has/is the real deal? And didn't post-Meta Maine, without any of the Ai fragments or gear beat a Tex clone. You know, Tex, who was better at martial arts than Carolina and beat her repeatedly. So Carolina being "good at martial arts" would mean nothing? And this was after he basically stood on top of a minefield while everything detonated at once? Especially when Carolina's up against the Meta, with all of the AI and gear, and not just the crazy shell of Maine like the Tex clone was? And wouldn't Sigma try and psyche her out, like he did with pretty much every other entity he talked to before becoming the Meta? You know, like what basically any enemy that ever hurt Carolina did? "You aren't as good as Tex/me(if Tex is the one talking)." 'Ragh, angy' *whack* . "Remember how you killed all of my friends" 'Oh I remember you now Sharkboy, am big sad' *bang* or *flame-whoosh* or *stab* . All it would take would be for sigma to say "remember how all your friends are dead" or "remember the last couple of AI fragments we took from you, wanna say Hi to them?" and Carolina would wig out. And Church talking to Meta only worked as a distraction the first time because that Church was THE Alpha. Meta stopped because he was basically talking to his god. Carolina's Church is just Epsilon, he would have just cracked her head open and eaten her implant like a potato chip, and listened to what Epsilon had to say when he was part of the Meta. Don't get me wrong, Carolina and Epsilon could wipe the floor with just about any version of Maine. But she isn't supposed to be fighting Maine, she's supposed to be fighting the Meta. Being able to beat Maine is like being able to beat Billy Batson (Admittedly if Billy Batson was a mute that did all the steroids). It doesn't mean you can beat him when he's actually got his powers, it doesn't mean you can beat Shazam. Without the powers of like six guys, Billy Batson is just an orphan, but with them, Shazam can make Superman sweat. If you just totally ignore like half of his advantages, you're dealing with little orphan Maine, not the beast that is the Meta.
Yeah, plus the show is called death battle, not "what would happen if they actually fought in red vs blue". If they were fighting to the death with everything on the line(not worrying about securing another ai) then Meta would definitely win. Had to scroll way to far to find actual facts
Honestly I am not even sure if she can beat maine with just one or two AI thanks to the temporal distortion device. Keep in mind one of the reasons they give in the video is that he can't run his tech long with so many AI. Without so many AI he can use his tech WAY more.
@@richardashendale922 That's not how it works though. The problem, why he couldn't run all of the equipment at once, was never because of having multiple AI fragments, it was a power issue. The suits were only ever designed to use one power each. But the only time he has all of the fragments is when he's fixed that power issue (that's the whole reason he went to the windmill), and can use all of his powers as much as he wants. Before he fixes the power issue, he doesn't have all of the AI fragments. It only became a problem again after the EMP, when he didn't have any fragments at all. So either he has all of the fragments, and doesn't have the power Issue; or he doesn't have all of them, and has the power issue. Unless, for some reason, they gave him all of the fragments and ignored the fact that, chronologically, when he has all of the fragments he's already fixed the power issue. And if it was having all the fragments that kept him from using all of his powers at once, Epsilon wouldn't have fragmented himself to run the suit in the season 13 finale. It would have just made the problems worse, not better. The suit at that time had the power for all the abilities, Epsilon just didn't have the processing power. So he made new fragments. More fragments made using all of the powers easier, not harder.
I can't really read all that cause it's a bit of a wall of text, most of it looks correct, but two things: "so it isn't really a cacophony of voices, so much as a chorus in agreement?" While it is technically a chorus in agreement (very loosely because they all talk at different times, sometimes building off of each other like when Meta collected Delta or all over each other like when Alpha went to stall Meta), the one time we see the fragments in the video is almost identical to their behavior when encountering the Alpha. They're all saying some variation of "Take it" or (what I assume to be acknowledgement of Epsilon? Some of it is incomprehensible) so I don't see how that wouldn't be considered agreement, at least based on how we saw them act before. Also, wasn't the Meta beating Tex thing some variation of the "Tex always fails in the end" thing? That's what I assumed at least, because right after that was when Epsilon explained that characteristic of her and also just doesn't seem like a logical outcome to that fight. I'm not 100% sure how the failure thing works, I think it just randomly happens whenever they needed it to, but that's something worth considering.
This battle actually made sense. Anyone that actually knows how to fight will tell you that power and fury, while certainly things to be careful of, will fail completely in the face of superior skill and ability. What makes Meta dangerous is the general stupidity of his/its opponents that try to contest him in his own arena or strength vs strength. Proper fighters and soldiers, SF more than any, are always looking for opportunities and advantages to exploit in order to make every fight as symmetrical as possible. Meta is the /stronger and tougher/ fighter. Caroline is the smarter and faster one.
Its rare for strength to win against skill/speed fighters and the only way that normally happens is that the one with skill gets tired while the one with strength is still up
Can you really even call Meta a man by this point? Or even human? That's why I said "it." After the AI fragments take over, Meta is little more than a rampaging golem, fueled by rage.
Actually, Meta wasn't assigned Sigma. After Maine became a mute, Carolina gave Sigma, which was her AI at the time, to Maine, in order to compensate for his lack of voice.
If you view it as black vs white, than that's also a little racist. Does that mean just because he's a black badass, he can't fight a white badass? Bruh?
herobrinehunter that is technically true. But the other AI were after Church. They were so focus on Metastability that when Church appeared he turned his focus on Church. But since the Meta was using so much equipment to try to take down Carolina he also was quickly losing power too. With Church by Carolina's side he was able to focus on healing her and focus energy right. Meta multiple AI had his head unable to focus on the task at hand.
Alex Grigorian Yeah Just like how anyone can use Carolina's grappling hook, plasma rifles, and stun baton. That isn't the point the point is that the gravity hammer is part of her equipment that would have been a huge asset in this fight.
Just cause something from a combatant's arsenal gets mentioned doesn't guarantee it will be used. If Wiz and Boomstick allowed either one to use EVERYTHING a combatant had, the fight would become unbalanced.

Ok, can we *ALL* agree that Caboose is the best character in Red Vs Blue?
Honestly, I kind of grew bored of him after like season 6-ish. He's still fun, but definitively not the best. I also prefered him in earlier seasons (1&2) where he was just kind of dimwitted and not a full on moron. York is the best.
No church because 8:18
Church because he has a great personality and deep down he is broken and sacrificed himself for his friends on multiple occasions if you ask me he is a true hero whether he be called Chuch the alpha or epsilon.
I gotta say no, he’s as good as any other character that’s essentially a walking meme, and I do enjoy it, but he lacks a lot of the depth, relatability, and badassery of other characters, prime example being Felix, who I thought was a fantastic villain from start to finish
Yes I believe caboose has gotten a bit boring over the years although I believe that goes to Sheila or caboose, maybe tucker?
Remember when RvB used to be reds and blues occasionally interacting then season 3 happened
Good times
It’s what happens when you introduce new things to your story, like a doctor who gets an evil split personality and tries to end the world.
Yeah me neither
Caboose would win. He can lift a mountain.
Holikwakkemoli ok
Holikwakkemoli so true
Holikwakkemoli LOL he just walks in
Holikwakkemoli he would immediately win because freckles will be like enemy hostile s detected then it shoots and caboose wouldn't even know
Can't argue there.
I don't know what to tell the people who're complaining about the outcome. Screwattack was working *with* RoosterTeeth on this. The writers of the show had direct input. This is just how it would happen.
Drakatha1337
It is the only Death Battle that is Canon
ClayXros actually it's non- canon, but it is how things would've gone down if Meta and his AI fragments had survived until Carolina got Epsilon
Drakatha1337 you are right and it happend TWICE
There is no way anyone could beat Meta with all the armor enhancements and AI in a 1v1, except Caboose of course
😢😮😅
Bro Carolina has pretty much the same tech as meta, she would run out of power just as fast if not faster
In terms of combat, Carolina (she bested maine by miles so durability and strength won't matter)
In terms of AI, also Carolina.
Basically apart from the one 1 wincon. The Meta really falls short.

I feel like people think the animated fight is actually the real thing. That's just a cool representation of their abilities.
exactly
They even said that but people take the animation to serious
@@canispugnator7613 Precisely, it's starting to get annoying...
But still bs cause she should be dead from those blows

You're the real winner of this death battle.
When you find people that have never heard of red vs blue. after over 10 years you would think this is well known over the Internet. Ridiculous
Because it's nowhere near as prevalent as it was before. Everything dies down eventually.
There were many Death Battles that no one knew who the characters were, your point?
When you find people who seriously think RvB is a thing outside of the Halo community. Ridiculous.

+MD Gamer 2.0 I just think meta would win
and in a sense he did win the entire outcome of the fight comes from the last moment
but say the Ai controlling meta didn't let him get distracted it changes the outcome
The deciding factor was could meta's defense outlast caroline it did
she used her trump card
his trump card was better
So its a legit debate you can't say people are fangirling if it could have gone The other way is meta simply ignored him
+Axle Fullbuster That is the thing though, Meta is *all of the fragments* manipulating Maine. This isn't Maine and 7 AI we're talking about. Its Meta as a whole entity.
The fact that the AI distracted him doesn't change, because its not Maine being distracted by the AI. Its the Meta being distracted by itself.
Nexus Gaming Zone personally I'm calling this fight a coin flip but I see your point and the creator's obviously know meta better than me
And knew meta would get distracted by episolon giving carolina an opening
Like in joker vs sweet tooth
So in that sense I can't argue but if it's about whose better by the numbers though
pure stats meta wins
"I'm tired"
"You should probably rest then"
"Rest.... I'd like that"
"Yeah you go on and rest now okay"

so, meta won the actual fight, carolina just got lucky at the end
Not so much as luck, the meta was distracted because the other AI fragments brain washed him and he listens to the AI, so when church talked to him he got distracted.
plus her healing unit brought her back enough to attack while the meta can't heal.
No.
+InTheBocksez who you saying no to?
Troha Halen The original comment.
@@xtheR3aperx Ngl I agree with this as the finale would not hold up unless the meta was that much of a brutish dummy.
Its rare for strength to win against skill/speed fighters and the only way that normally happens is that the one with skill gets tired while the one with strength is still up
Evan Ulven just telling you sense u said "his/it's" the meta is a guy, it's shown in the series, not being hostile, just confirming for you
Can you really even call Meta a man by this point? Or even human? That's why I said "it." After the AI fragments take over, Meta is little more than a rampaging golem, fueled by rage.

That's rich, you made my night
Sarge is secretly boomsticks father get on that DEATH BATTLE/screw attacks
Actually, Meta wasn't assigned Sigma. After Maine became a mute, Carolina gave Sigma, which was her AI at the time, to Maine, in order to compensate for his lack of voice.
Brock Samson (The Venture Brothers) vs Black Dynamite (Black Dynamite)
GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thts dumb and racist its like say white vs white who will im not saying who cuz im not racist
If you view it as black vs white, than that's also a little racist. Does that mean just because he's a black badass, he can't fight a white badass? Bruh?
They're both badass cartoon characters from adult swim... thats why I thought it would be a cool match up.
Gr8 M8 dude listen man i dont even care
Sarge is boomstick's dad?... Nice
Who's Here Getting READY for Red Verus Blue
I like how all of the freelancers are named after the United States.
Carolina only won become of her AI. he distracted Meta.
It's sneaky and underhanded!
But then again, the main characters always do that in the show, so this is nothing new.
vompattimies
And yet, that didn't stop him from getting killed by a bunch of idiots.
+AlexThat200 i think his AI's had been lost to the EMP by that point
herobrinehunter that is technically true.
So...Carolina only won because of her AI. And if the Meta won it would have been WITHOUT assistance of his AI? Sure, I guess...
You people forgot how Carolina also used the Gravity Hammer :>
Alex Grigorian Yeah
Just like how anyone can use Carolina's grappling hook, plasma rifles, and stun baton.
That isn't the point
the point is that the gravity hammer is part of her equipment that would have been a huge asset in this fight.
They showed it in the analysis footage.
Just cause something from a combatant's arsenal gets mentioned doesn't guarantee it will be used. If Wiz and Boomstick allowed either one to use EVERYTHING a combatant had, the fight would become unbalanced.
Soren Daein Then again they do say "weapons, armor and skills to see who would win."
thats true
