My fiancé died 6 months ago. He was like Hamilton. He wrote so much. Like he was running out of time. He was brilliant. I go through his thousands of pages of journals. I tell his story. I can’t wait to see him again ❤
This comment hit me so hard. My best friend since childhood, and I mean BEST friend, died four years. This was his absolute favorite play, he saw it live twice. He could speak read and write fluent Mandarin Chinese and Hebrew. He went to grad school at Forham after NYU for international relations. I wish he had more time. His story was just beginning.
Eliza is one of the best characters written in musicals, and while everyone gives her love i dont think they truly appreciate the character the way she deserves. She was a young woman who fell in love with a man who sought out fame and legacy, was always competing for his attention with her own sister, he had an affair and humiliated her by publishing proof for his own political agenda, then her son dies. Eliza the entire musical was ignored, cheated on, heart broken, but she always rised she always kept trying to make alexander happy, then after the reynolds incident she cut herself off for her, until her. Child dies and the only way to keep them both sane with their kids, she forgives him then when he dies, she tells his story, becomes an activist and holds the first private orphansge in new york city. The sacrifices she made the entire musical, no one sacrificed as much as her she sacrificed wealth to be with alexander she sacrificed her own feelings and allowed Alexander to fight in the war again, and thats just the first 2
I love the way Washington at first steps out so proudly and then when Eliza mentions slavery he seems to be so ashamed of himself and steps back with such respect for her... And the head nods... Goosebumps.
I love how the song includes so many themes from earlier songs such as ‘burn’ for Eliza’s introduction, ‘Satisfied’ for Angelica just after they sing “we tell your story” and singing their names from ‘The Schyler Sisters”. I’m fairly sure they also reference the tune from ‘Helpless’ throughout.
When I first saw the gasp I thought it was her taking her last breath, I was later corrected by a friend that it was her seeing the audience hearing Hamilton's story.
I honestly like to think that the gasp at the end is Eliza passing and seeing the audience. But like, she is seeing the other side while Hamilton leads her to the front of the stage as she takes in everyone who is hearing the story she worked so hard to keep alive. :,(
I think the gasp means: When Hamilton dies he turns into Lin and shows Eliza that we told her story and everybody else’s. And she’s happy that they told their story. (And she breaks the fourth wall)
@@SnoozingggNot necessarily, it’s never been confirmed on what it actually means, it’s left up to the viewers interpretation! There’s no wrong or right answer
@@jillianhairston8595 Lin manual Miranda made a whole video about some of the hidden messages in Hamilton. Including that the gasp was supposed to symbolize her passing and being reunited with Hamilton 😀
I think the moment when Lin-Manuel took Eliza's hand at 3:20 , he did it as Lin-Manuel himself and not as Hamilton. Lin then brought Eliza back to the front of the stage to show her the audience who knew more about Hamilton. At this point, Lin is proud to show Eliza the impact of this play, and that he is able to continue the legacy. Lin told their story. :)
Her tearful gasps at the end made me cry everytime. This means that she was breaking the 4th wall meaning that her husband’s story had been told. That man is not Alexander. It’s Lin himself showing Eliza that everyone read Hamilton’s story. I also hope for a film adaptation soon. I wish it was 3hrs long if they want to, and maybe give it a R-rating this time, and distributed by Warner Bros Pictures. I also wish all of the songs were included
I think when Alexander took Eliza in front it's not his character (Alexander), it's the actual Lin showing Eliza what he'd done and showed Eliza that her and Alexander's story are told.
I can imagine Hamilton watching over Eliza going “Eliza, you did it, Eliza you told my story you told Philip’s story. You told there story’s, it’s you Eliza, I love you❤”
The final gasp. Maybe im wrong, but since Lin Manuel is a musical nerd, I risk to believe that the final gasp is a little tribute to the final blow of Johnny in Company.

This just made me cry 😞

The gasp at the end had me crying 😭 She saw that his story was told to all these people and I just can't 😭😭
Oh ok, I was so confused for a sec😂😂 I was like "is she good, does she need an inhaler or something???:
Mina Ashido it’s her taking her final breath before she dies.
@@BT5PavedTheWay I'm sO CONFUSED 😭😭 WHICH ONE IS IT?!?!
Mina Ashido they’re both theories so u can believe either one
Mina Ashido - @ the fourth wall is broken and she sees the audience and realizes that she accomplished her goal was to tell Alexander’s story

Hence the musical is called "Hamilton", not "Alexander Hamilton". It's for Eliza, too, maybe even more than it is for Alexander

Hamilton is my favorite, it is just so brilliant!

Yah I thought that too!
And also, she was breaking the 4th wall too 😢
I thought the same!
It's open to any interpretation

That’s the most beautiful one I’ve ever heard
That was actually supposed to resemble Eliza passing
She's deadpool?

Such a sad song.. because so many of our loved ones ran out of time and sometimes I do wonder what they would have done if they had more time…..
IM GOING TO CRY

This song really gave me emotions bro.

the very end when Daveed is running to get in the line. and Christopher Jackson and Anthony Ramos high five 😭
2:20 No matter how many times I see this, if I’m not already a sobbing mess, when she starts singing about the orphanage, I absolutely lose it
3:19 is when they meet again
3:26 he walks her to show her what she’s done
3:28 she gasps because she sees that they’re stories got told
*their stories got told
Someone is cutting onions 😢
This song never fails to give me the chills
Anyone else feel like they have to clap with the audience?
Wow you can hear all the sniffles
It made me start bawling and I had to hide in my closet so my dad wouldn't see me crying!
I'm so emotional
los jadeos al final .... tan buena

I might see Hamilton in 2020!
I can imagine Hamilton watching over Eliza going “Eliza, you did it, Eliza you told my story you told Philip’s story. You told there story’s, it’s you Eliza, I love you❤”
watching this to cleanse myself from the horrid performance done by the scamilton cast.
