From 6:20 to 8:15 It shows tree and brush stomping machines made by the La Tourneau company. These machines showed up in the early to mid 1950's . This company made an amazing variety of gigantic machines for agriculture, mining, construction, exploration and the military. Though the machines are old now ,when they first appeared they were modern technology.

I was wondering why they didn`t just take a big bulldozer and push them over.

Hi willythewave ,I didn't know if you were expecting an answer from me but here goes. A dozer would be a lot less of an expense than a stomper but maybe the stomper would cover more ground. If you watch the machine work every square inch underneath it is being stomped, it's footprint is much wider than a dozer blade. But the more I think of your comment with the right operator a dozer might be the better machine for that job. After all you don't see any stompers around today yet bulldozers are everywhere. The La Tourneau company made a lot of innovative products, the cutting edge of technology but some never caught on. It's like the answer to a question nobody asked.

The heavy duty stump buster was amazing as was the vehicle with the silver chains around the 2 back tyres, caterpillar style, whereas the 6 disc appliance with teeth seemed a bit pointless when a tractor, trailer and a front loader with a wide cable bucket could pick up the bits without the soil and plonk it in the trailer.
Lastly what is the craft that walks on it's feet used for please?

Robert Le Tourneau was at the fore front of the development of giant machinery to turn big jobs into small jobs. HE also used technologies that were in their very infancy stages or not invented untill he came along in his machines such as generators on wheel hubs and so on . His ideas allowed man to do such much more and dream so much bigger and he gave all the credit to his God and savior Jesus Christ.
