    Dear Jen, Very beautiful plants and it is because of the rain and good temperatures and your perfect preparation that everything has grown so much. Those affected leaves do worry me a bit. Better remove the sick leaves and spray the rest today than tomorrow because it can suddenly get worse very quickly. Think of water lilies on a pond. The pond should not grow dense for the fish and every day the number of water lilies doubles. When the pond is a quarter full you think you still have time, but barely two days later the pond is full. It's the same with diseases. It can suddenly happen very quickly if it rains for a long time. If the leaves stay wet for more than 10 hours, there are aggressive diseases that can cause a major disaster. I have experienced it myself. And I don't want that to happen to you.🤗

      Sorry you’re dealing with it too. The first year which was 3 years ago I thought it was just me but this being the third year I really babied it because I really wanna try it. I’m learning there are just some varieties that take forever to get going.

    What state are you in? What type of soil do you have? I have been gardening for over 10 years and never new there were so many varieties! I really appreciate your taste tests and sharing how productive each variety seems to be!

    • @jencordial
      @jencordial  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I’m in northeastern WV. My soil was brought in. It’s a mix of garden soil which has some sand top soil and mushroom soil mixture and then on top of both rows I put a thick layer of mushroom compost a couple months before planting time. I had no idea either and once I found out the obsession with growing and tasting them all began.

    Hi Jen, yay this video is one I was so looking forward to. You have so many amazing varieties! I can’t wait to see some taste tests later in the season. Also if you’re interested in ever doing a seed swap, I have a variety called Sinks Yellow Tits which you could include in the naughty section for next year 🤣🤣.
    I think im growing about 350 ish varieties in a space no way near as big as yours so its all a bit crammed in this year but I was so eager to try as many varieties as I possibly could this year, as last year ended in a huge disaster (over 200 plants wiped out by late blight in August 🫤🫤)
    So spraying with copper really helps then? I’ve heard of that before but haven’t actually yet tried it. Seems like a couple of my plants may be developing septoria spots which I’m dreading will spread

    • @jencordial
      @jencordial  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh no. So sorry to hear about your blight issue last year. Yes definitely give the copper spray a try. Last year was my first year using it and I had my healthiest tomato plants yet. Still producing into October.
      Good for you for making the most of your space. That’s a lot of varieties to try.
      And I would definitely love to trade with you in the future Sinks yellows tits sounds like one for the naughty row for sure.
