you should buy and watch Tuntemation sotilas (unknown soldier) movie, the latest one, was it from 2016 or 2018 dont remember. i think it is the best war movie ever made. and so many muricans also say the same
1:22 Utti is located in Kymenlaakso, not in South Karelia. It's about 75 km from Utti to Lappeenranta, which is in South Karelia. Kouvola is the closest town, actually Utti is part of Kouvola, located about 10 km from the town center.
FTD Facts is basically a bad joke. Those videos were made very fast, without bothering to check any of the "facts" from other sources than English language Wikipedia. Sometimes not even that. Their "facts" are full of errors, almost as bad as those AI-generated videos of today. Also, the video contains some REALLY old material. In the beginning you see a Fokker F27 troopship plane and MI-8 helicopter. Those have not been used in decades. But it might actually be a good thing that there is no recent video material of SOF units available.
Yes, however Jäger in German language literally means a hunter. In 19th century Prussian military the term originally denoted infantrymen whose civilian occupation had been hunters or foresters, men who had the best knowledge and skill to operate in the wilderness. That's how Preussisches Jägerbataillons came to be in the first place. The Finns formed the 27th of such battalions and thus brought the term back home. So, like everything in Europe, nothing is straight forward and clear cut, but rather a convoluted mess of hundreds of years of history.
You should never watch the FTD facts. The videos I have seen (especially the Finnish military ones) are so full of errors that you would think they didn’t even read wikipedia article about the topic, let alone a proper source.
I was in the Finnish Laplands Border Guards Sissi (Jaeger) unit, of Rovaniemi , Border Guards Lower Officer School in Immola and then at the Laplands Border Guards of Ivalo as an lower officer.... This was during early 1990:s,when Soviet Union still was a thing. I was honoured to meet and to talk with Simo Häyhä, at a military parade,we had in honour of the last day of the winter war. Back then was Simo Häyhä only known in Finland and not at all abroad.
Nothing compared to our previous wars with russia. Greater wrath as a prime example. Also great northern war was gruesome asf. Still russia is saying they have never attacked anyone.
No. At least the dude got something right. You have to do basic training in military and then apply to Jäger. They have like tests with physical and mental to go further. Only few will apply and they are best of the best. When you see purple beret...you know that dude is tough as nails. They don't prag about it
My grandson started the army last Monday and was so excited, he couldn't sleep the night before.
So afrait?

Häyhä might be hard to pronounce for a foreigner but you did the best job I've heard so far :D (they usually say 'heiha' or something like that)
They're as tough as they come. All the respect to the work they do.

Yup! They are elite group, no videos about their training from FDF!!
And thats how it should be! ..neighbours are watching!

Pretty much 80% of what that dude says is false, and best is that Jäger is a bird. No it means hunter in german, which ofc makes more sense.
Noh. Jääkäri/Jaeger name comes from
Königlich Preussisches Jägerbataillon Nr. 27. Finnish troops who trained in Germany during 1917.

@tsuhna1167 suhna luo suurvaltaa. Hihi hihi
My other grandson wants to be a jaeger, but he's still too young, he's already started training, including accuracy in shooting.

Now january 12 000 young people start military training in Finland army. 400 women.
i was in kainuun prikaati 1. tykistöpatteri when i was doing my conscription
Same but in TJ
Same but in Vekaranjärvi
I was in #2.
Some called us "the arsehole of the brigade".

It's so funny hearing you trying to pronounce 'jääkärirykmentti' 😅 But you did pretty well!
Cooper test at least 3180 m in 12 minutes and 240 pounds is about 109 kg.
Idk why people focus on the Winter War so much, there was a lot more carnage in the Continuation War but it did happen over a longer period.

@pekkajarvinen69 No jos ulkomaalaset ei kiinnitä huomiota jatkosotaan niin ei ne todellakaan mihinkään iso- tai pienivihaan ryhdy tutustumaan :D
Dont give up,thät jääkärirykmentti was perfect.
0:29 Utin jääkärirykmentti, not Uudenmaan jääkärirykmentti
AI gives you shit. Utti Jaeger Regiment is not named that ”Uudenmaan Jääkärirykmentti”. . And Utti is nearer town Kouvola than Lappeenranta.

Have you seen the video "soldier with meth"?
Not to be like that but FTD facts.. Is bad at facts :D
How is this even on map if he doesn't know Jäger...das ist deutsch. So all credibility went down with shit, in your bathroom.
it's a bird in eglish but it means a hunter in german. Pls don't watch anything he says ever again.
