Cahaya Mutiara Ubud

11 years ago I first walked into this incredible place north of Ubud in Bali and met some of the most inspiring souls I have been blessed to meet.
Known then as Senang Hati ( Happy heart ) this community centre / foundation / yayasan ( Charity ) is now called Cahaya Mutira Ubud and is home for Balinese with physical impairments which was created by the members themselves to provide education, accommodation and a solution to social isolation, to help build confidence, friends and life skills for others with similar challenges here on the Island of the Gods.
I am looking forward to seeing them all again soon with another big donation pooled from the donations I receive each month on my Patreon. If you are ever in Bali be sure to go and visit them to say hello, have a giggle, enjoy their performances and singing and maybe buy some of their handcrafted arts and craft which they make to help provide the money they need to keep going. This shows their renovated bedrooms.. when I 1st came there were up to 12 people in one room, but now they have space for 4 per room :)
