Adams, “Old School”) a brilliant but unmotivated college dropout, as his associate. As he becomes enmeshed in this unfamiliar world, Mike relies heavily on the firm’s best paralegal Rachel (Megan Markle, “Horrible Bosses”) and Harvey's no-nonsense assistant Donna (Sarah Rafferty, “Brothers & Sisters”) to help him serve justice. I'm totally on Harvey's side especially when his mother brought Bobby to his dad's funeral that just seems to tasteless and disrespectful.
And then defends him and asserts that she's a far more loyal wife to him than she ever was to the father of her 2 children as though that would comfort him.
@@benkirkman1866 Yeah and I get that there comes a time when holding on to a grudge does just as much damage to yourself especially with family but it's hard to sympathise with Harvey's mother knowing what she put him through.
I hated how Bobby and Lily even Marcus acted like Harvey was the villain here when in reality he was simply scarred, hurt and betrayed by both Bobby and Lily’s actions and it’s not his fault why he stopped visiting the family because he had his reasons and valid ones.
Granted, you can’t stay mad at family forever because life is too short and you have only one family but at the same time they could have at least understand why the situation is what it is
Harvey is completely right, he didn't do a single bad or wrong thing
1) Cheat on the husband with his best friend
2) For years, pressure and emotionally manipulate the little kid to hide the affair from his dad
3) When he can't hide it anymore, blame the kid for causing the break up of the family and the collapse of his dad.
4) Bring the affair partner to the dad's funeral.
And the show actually tried to tell us Harvey was the one in the wrong for resenting his family and going no contact with them.
Modern families today in a nutshell
Lily was a messy mess. Harvey is in the right.
Lily was a narcissistic scumbag, despite being a mom and grandmother.
Same goes for his brother. Harvey did the right thing yet Marcus blamed him for breaking the family apart instead of blaming his own mother.
Not really. He's rather hypocritical about it. His father started seeing Harvey's mother as an affair as well, as she was cheating on her partner at the time then as well. He explains this when Harvey speaks to him about Cameron Dennis burying evidence.
Making Lil Harvey keep a secret was bad ...but Bobby showing up at the funeral was worse.
Even though Lily took responsibility for her actions, I hate how she insists that Harvey is partly to blame for the collapse of their family. His only crime had been an inconvenient witness who she pressured into keeping silent by telling hin he'd be to blame for the consequences of her actions. The when he did expose she accuses him of doing it out of spite. He did it because he loved and respected his father too much to allow her to unjustly humiliate him right under his nose.
Forgiving each other like that a huge burden was lifted from them.
I hated how they wanted to redeem the mom even though she cheated and did all those things behind harveys dads back.
Could she never be redeemed? Even after his dad and brother forgave her? The point in this was not to redeem Lily, but to finally give Harvey healing in his life. Him not forgiving her caused him immense pain and separation from his family. He longed for that connection with his mom, but his bitterness wouldn’t allow him to heal. You knew it because he held on to the duck painting for decades, and it was one of his most treasured possessions. Forgiveness is not about releasing the person who wronged you from their guilt, it’s about releasing yourself from the pain that lingers and festers into bitterness. It’s freeing to not hold on to grudges that silently weigh you down and entrap you.
Harvey was right when Bobby showed up it’s out of order
Hardest moment ever for Harvey ... and he made it !
Harvey deserved an apology
He did!
Love these types of scenes, makes Suits feel so human
this episode made me proud of Harvey. He grew a lot
I’m sorry I can’t stand his mother. My wife also cheated and she destroyed me trough the core. I know that’s more like my responsibility but I let that situation to hurt me way too deep. It’s been hard to forgive.
Seeing Harvey so vulnerable hurt
I am all for forgiveness and I think this little arc had some decent messages about what holding onto hatred can do to you/make you miss out on,
BUT.
Knowing what she did to Harvey, knowing that she was 100% in the wrong for how their family relationship was destroyed, forgiveness would have been off the table after that dinner. Because Harvey was spitting facts, she was selfish and self-obsessed in that scene and couldn't see past her own ego to the fact that then and there _was not the time_ to try and turn it back on him.
Add on that he stayed an extra day, risking his career and company, to try and start back on the path to forgiveness and I would have made sure I never saw her again
lol yeah forgive a cheater how nice
Harvey really got thrown the worst brother and mother combination but I'm glad he reconciled in the end
They were definitely manipulative pieces of garbage
notice how he looks at the painting? He's deciding to love her by seeing their past and not what happened later.
Harvey is a better man than me, cause i would never have let that go or reconciled anything. She even took the man she cheated on his father with to his funeral. What a way to add insult to injury. Lilly was garbage to me.
Lily was a true 304 and Harvey knew it.
@@alexnutcasio936He always let her know it too.
@@slipkid1267 it apparently wasn’t her first time getting caught. She was a frequent flyer.
@@alexnutcasio936 Yeah she was caught by Harvey multiple times cheating on his father, his mom was a certified 304. Correct me if I’m wrong but I think his pops finally caught her too.
@@slipkid1267 His father never caught her. Harvey had to tell his dad for him to find out.
I have a very similar experience with my mom we haven’t talked in 6 years. Not even on my birthday. This scene is so personal to me.
So, your mom is a 304 ?
My mother and I had our differences. I forgave her a long time ago, but she never forgave herself (so she frequently lashed out). She passed away a few months ago. Despite those differences and those scars she inflicted, I wish she were still around. I'm glad I was able to say goodbye.
I say all this to say that one day, she will be gone, and your issues with her won't matter anymore. When you're ready, make your peace with her.
Harvey was right to hate them.
Why would she bring the dude she cheated on her husband wit fo funeral? Wyf
the duck painting
best episode on the series hands down
6:41 well who's fault is that now huh?
I hated how they wrote this storyline for Harvey. He was disrespected and gaslit by everyone he had history with all for it to be put on him.
Forgiving is for amateurs. Real pros hold onto resentment like it’s the last piece of pizza.😅
This was a terrible storyline lol Harvey did nothing wrong and didnt owe these people anything
He should not have forgiven her
I really wanted the show to be continued
Glad I'm not the only one who thought the writers were dead wrong for picturing Harvey as the bad guy here. His mom (and brother) basically inflicted a lasting emotional trauma on him. For most of his adult life, it's what negatively affected his relationship with people.
Never forgive a cheater. But it’s okay to let it go
This is what they teach, my mom can burn my house and still will have my respect.
I don’t know about y’all but I really had to stop it when he said the grandma and grandpa
Harvey was in a tough situation. On one hand It's hard to forgive and forget something like that, yet knowing that person won't be around forever makes it's impossible not to forgive and move on.
I was supposed to protect you, not scar you
Harvey’s mom shouldn’t have made Harvey keep a secret
Does anyone know the name of the track played when Harv hugs his mother
just realized Harvey says, 'Lily' in the beginning and not 'mom'
I love you Gabriel ❤
Ummmmmm.......he's not wrong
I'm not understanding what point is trying to b made with this 1
Like if you on Harvey's side
He looks so weird without a suit
Harvey’s separation anxiety is real but I think he sleeps with lots of girls because he can’t get close
all because of donna
Fr
Finally ❤
“Next on Suits: Why everything is Harvey’s fault”
Wow, oh boy that woman's Gaslighting game is on another level .
sHe didn't love Harvey's father.
