He is definitely called monster- I can quote it if you like, seared into my brain after writing a thesis on it. 'Abhorred monster! fiend that thou art! the tortures of hell are too mild a vengeance for thy crimes.' (p.80? ) and many more- he also calls himself 'monster'.' It's scholars who debate calling him 'the creature' or 'the monster' both terms are used, along with many others. That is a powerful statement though Garrett, gives me faith in the youtube comment section haha.

Yes, sure, fine, but that is not the reasoning people are generally using when they refer to the monster as "Frankenstein". Generally, people call the monster "Frankenstein" because they genuinely think that's straightforwardly his name. Not just "technically, from a certain angle" his name. So this argument that gets bandied about so often is totally irrelevant.

Last one was uncalled for. He never implied that the monster was called Frankenstein, he merely used the word "Frankenstein" to inform the listeners which monster he was talking about. He could very well have been talking about Doctor Frankenstein, or even more likely the book "Frankenstein". The home owner wrongly and stupidly assumed that he was calling the monster Frankenstein, and was WRONG, so he should be the one to get out.
