Knox, Jennie wasn’t getting a lot of raps in BP even though she’s the main rapper then she was so happy that she announced during D4 promotions that “Rapper Jennie is back”. Then no raps again after that. She hasn’t rapped for more than 2 years until the Album came out where she only rapped in 3 out of 8 songs. If she didn’t write her own rap in Lovesick Girls, she’d only rap in two. So you know what she did? She went ahead and wrote her own 40 second rap verse for her Solo remix, the longest in her entire career in Blackpink.

Actually Jennie did both their rap in her own style... Gd and top has different styles of rapping which can't be reproduced ....that is what made loser cover real good...coz she added her own color

A fact that break my heart :
Jennie had a note book where she used to write lyrics as a trainee but it was stolen , then she said she taped a note on the wall saying (things are going missing)
Each member brings different energy to their vocals- different swag, different tone, different power, even different vulnerability. Teddy is very deliberate about using those differences to set up the other members and direct the overall mood. He often uses the smokiness in Jisoo’s lower register as a foil to Rose’ and Jennie’s sharper, higher registers.
The ladies do know it, too: react to their cover of “Sure Thing” by Miguel. The members arranged it themselves and performed it as trainees. They later performed it on JYP’s show “Party People” (supposedly JYP had heard about it and requested it for the show).
It really showcases the contrast in their voices and their ability to harmonize and support each other. Jisoo provides the foundation of that performance too.
Exactly. Sometimes I get annoyed at the excessive complaints of line distribution. Clearly there must have been consideration in those distribution.

She lacks a lot of certain things. But that doesn't mean she isn't talented.
1. She lacks breath control. Though she's working on it now in THE ALBUM era (she improved a lot. I didn't mean to compare but if you compare her to Jennie when it comes to rapping, Jennie got way more bettee breath control). Why? Because of how fast Lisa's caitins are. The rhyming of her rap is exhausting that's why she struggles sometimes. See Coachella. Her boombayah rap. I didn't meant the negative way of "lack of breath control". I meant that the reason why she lacks it is because of how hard her rap for her.
2. Lisa lacks diversity and versatility. Though she's good. She fits what she fits. If you have seen Jennie, Jennie adjusts her voice, what type of voice she'll use to fit the gente of the song. Lisa sticks to her usual swag, powerful rap but that is okay because that's what she's known for.
3. Lisa can't do flying raps as she is more experienced in Western Style. Does that make her less talented? NO.
I've thought and said before that, as much as I'm a hip-hop head and love Jennie and Lisa, arguably my favorite aspect of BP is the pairing of Jisoo and Rose. On their own, they're both wonderful singers. But as you mentioned in this, they work SO well together as their voices and talents contrast each other. Rose gets more attention due to her angelic voice and those beautiful high notes she can hit, but on BP songs, her singing gets amplified even more because they frequently have her and Jisoo singing back to back, and Jisoo's lower register reaaaaally gives it a bump. I absolutely love it on any song where they have Jisoo and Rose sing back to back.

Jennie is the main rapper, tho she isn't promoted as one. Jennie is more fluid in her delivery whereas Lisa is punchier. Both balance each other out. YG needs to take advantage of that dynamic more.

I love these girls so much! I'm really curious what Lisa and Jisoo's solos will sound like. Also, a Japanese version of The Album will be released in August so I'm looking forward to that. Jisoo singing in Japanese just hits different for some reason. If you ever react to some of their live performances in Japan you will know what I mean, Yuki No Hana and Sakurairo Maukoro are beautiful.

I don’t think i’ll ever shut up abt how Knox is one of, if not the only reactor who actually gives an unbiased opinion and is able to dissect each song, actually pays attention to the lyrics, and knows when and where to praise a member when theyre often overlooked by others. He really takes the time to actually LISTEN and pay attention to the production and songwriting. One of the very few who also recognises Jennie’s rapping abilities and Jisoo’s lower range vocals tht complements the group. Thts why i keep coming back.
